Sam's did an absolutely amazing job on my yard!! It was a royal mess....the front and the back!! I was getting ready to put my rental house on the market and the yard needed a major clean up. The gentleman that performed the work (Drew and John), were punctual, professional, and did everything they promised and then some! They laid more pinestraw, planted flowers, and hauled away a patio full of pots, whiskey barrels, dead plants, and lots of junk. I am very impressed and will highly recommend their service to anyone.

We have used Sam Smith's landscaping for a variety of projects, tree services, pine straw installation, and a new retaining wall. We have been pleased with all the staff members as well. Jonathan has helped with multiple projects and is always professional.

We recently hired Sam and his crew to help us remedy a drainage issue between our house and our neighbors. Sam and his crew did a great job! They installed a drain with 4” pipe, a sock pipe (to absorb moisture in surrounding area), and tied in our down spouts and HVAC drain so it would all drain to the road. We got some serious rain a few days later and Sam called to ask if he could stop by to make sure everything was draining as it should. While here (in the rain) he and one of his guys realized there was a slight issue with the water getting to the drain so they got out their shovels and got to work. I totally wasn’t expecting that, but by the time they left everything was right. They even added some more sod in a few bare spots around another area of work we’d recently had done (by a different company). These guys went above and beyond and were great to work with. I would definitely recommend them in you’re looking for landscape work!!

Sam Smith provides excellent service for his customers. Within two days of contacting him to remove the leaves from our yard, he had everything completed wonderfully. I would recommend Mr. Smith for any landscaping job you need to have done!

Sam was quick to respond to our call and sent us a proposal immediately! We are real estate agents and he has been the best we have hired or clients have hired. He came to Canton immediately. Highly recommend Sam! Polite and professional. Quality sod!

Would not recommend Sam Smith.

We hired Sam to assist with an erosion problem in our back yard. To his credit he did stop the erosion by ensuring we had standing water.

Sam also showed no regard for homeowner property. This job required fill, which Sam put on an unprotected driveway. He then moved that load of fill using a machine that caused damage and spread unwanted rock and debris in the front and side yards. We will have to buy and put in new sod to fix this issue as well.

I have attempted to work with Sam to correct these on 7 separate occasions starting in October, but continually he has neglected to follow up and when a reply would come the response was always that he would schedule, but never did.

We were left with such a mess that we had to hire a new company to come in and fix the issues caused by Sam’s haste.

Sam sold us saying that we would have a six month warranty, but as we approach that mark and too many attempts trying to work with Sam to follow-up and fix his work we were left with no choice but to hire a reputable company to do just that .. fix the work that we paid Sam to do.

Overall, we have been nothing short of disappointed in our decision to hire Sam Smith Landscaping and would encourage others to find any other option.

Sam and his crew did a wonderful job mulching my front and backyard. Sam came within the week to quote the job and he completed the job within a week. His crew was thorough and Worked all day and did a great job! Sam was very helpful and professional, would use him again!

Amazing work! I would give 10 stars if I could! I needed a retaining wall and some sod put down. They went above and beyond and it looks amazing. So pleased with the work and with Sam. He was very professional and a pleasure to work with! Great price and job very well done! He did exactly what I wanted and asked for. He didn’t try to up sell me or abuse the budget. That’s really appreciated!

Needed some clearing done in the backyard, so I went to search for a local landscaper. Called Sam Smith and he answered personally and came out for a quote the same day. Offered a fair price for the work done and came out the next morning. His team and him got the work done quick and hassle free, even offered to dispose of some other debris I had.

I had an irrigation emergency on a Saturday late morning. Sam picked up the phone immediately and said “I got you, I think I can help you”. He came out shortly after, fixed the issue and everything works like new. He deserves a 5 star rating!

They added mulch and my front and side flower beds. The work is nice but they left a bunch of mulch in my yard and did not clean this up. After the work was “complete”, Sam sent me a Cash app bill, did not follow up with me and did not ask if I was happy with the work. I paid the bill but told Sam that I was concerned about all the mulch left in my yard. Sam said they would come out the following Tuesday.

He had a worker come out and they used a blower and just blew the debris into my neighbor’s yard. I called Sam and complained about this and he said they would come out the following morning.

They did not come out and I haven’t heard from them since…

Sam, we were considering doing more work with your company for our backyard but we will take our business elsewhere.

Sam went above and beyond to fix issues with the home that he uncovered as part of a driveway expansion. He took care of it professionally and was always willing to collaborate and adjust to all my needs as a homeowner. At the same time, he prices jobs fairly and communicates promptly, you’ll definitely get a job well finished with Sam!

We can 100% recommend Sam Smith Landscaping! A previous landscaper had constructed a huge retaining wall on the side of out home. It went a few feet into our neighbor's yard. We had to attend court-mandated mediation and we agreed to have the wall moved in 30 days. The previous landscaper said he would fix it but never showed up. We contacted Sam Smith Landscaping since we had to comply with mediation and were running out of time. Sam showed up when he said he would, assessed the situation and had the entire wall moved in a few days. He fixed everything that both we and our neighbor asked him to, on time and at a good price. He and his team were very professional and we are grateful for the excellent work they did. I highly recommend Sam Smith Landscaping. They did GREAT work!

Our neighborhood contracted Sam and his guys (Coby, Steve and Johnny) to install new mulch to the playground. Sam always picked up his phone, was quick to reply to texts and got the job done earlier than anticipated. His quote was reasonable and he was knowledgeable of our needs. I hired this contractor to perform landscaping at my home, he was hired to do work in the front and the rear. The work in the front turned out to be quite nice, however the work in the rear of my home turned out horrible. The contractor was suppose to clear an area in the back of my home and spread pine straw....instead of clearing the area he cut a few plants and spreaded pinestraw he even left the orange string that goes around the pinestraw in my yard

Long story short, the area was definitely not cleaned up and excessive weeds can been seen throughout the pinestraw the area looked the same as before-he laid the pinestraw- he literally just added pinestaw. I was not home when my husband made the final payment he advised that the contractor stated he would return and spray for the weeds and of course contactor did not. He said he felt the contractor was a fair guy 🙄!

Anyhow I always believe in working with a firm first in regards to performance issues. So, I contacted the contractor regarding the issues a total of four times over four weeks and contractor has been unresponsive. prior to final payment he was definitely responsive.

I am giving him 2 1/2 stars giving the work in my front yard turned out nice and I do know the contractor has the capabilities to do the work, but I did gather that he may not have the capacity for additional work. However my overall review of his performance is as follows:

Schedule was ok their was some slippage but most slippage was due to weather other slippage can't be explained , the contractor was unresponsive, work performance in r rear was horrible (see pics attached), and I would not recommend the contractor for any work.

Also, please look this Contractor up on the Better Business Bureau site and yelp his reviews are not good.

I called these guys looking for a quick trim and clean up on some hedge bushes and rose bushes. They swung by later that afternoon. Trimmed it all up, cleaned everything up, and it looks great. Thanks.

Part 2: I had a major removal project where we took out about 30 Holly Bushes and trees. Everything was ground up and removed. They put down pine straw and seeded it all. It really is a new yard. They also quoted over $1,000 lower than other landscapers I quoted. So, I got great service and an amazing rate.

I will continue to use them for all my landscaping needs.

Sam and his team did 2 locations in our yard. Beautiful job complete on time and at budget. Great team to work with. I plan to hire Sam again in the near future.
