After having 3-5 previous technicians come look at our unit through the warranty company we got lucky with the rite temp team and ended up receiving a brand new unit. Something all the previous technicians that came out missed. I would recommend this company time and time again!

First American Home Warranty assigned Rite Temp Express, LLC to fix my 2 ton high efficiency gas furnace. I already had my personal HVAC Technician diagnosis the issue prior to calling First American Home Warranty. When Rite Temp Express came to look at the furnace I was relieved to know that the technician confirmed that the motherboard was bad and the part was no longer available. I would need a new furnace which is covered by my warranty. I then found out that Rite Temp Express is calling for $3,375 in modifications not covered by my warranty. My personal HVAC Technician looked at the list and did not agree that all of these modifications were needed. He also said that the prices were overly inflated.

Here is the list of modifications Rite Temp Express said that I needed.

My warranty company will not assign another contractor. I can sign the contract, pay the $3,375 or take a cash out which would equal the furnace at a wholesale contract price.

I feel totally taken advantage of after having this warranty for 18 years. I do not trust RiteTemp Express HVAC, LLC or my warranty company. In my opinion they are working together to fleece their customers.

If you are thinking of getting a home warranty, please do your homework. You might be better off putting your money in the bank so you can be covered when your appliances need repaired or replaced.

I recommend you do your homework and read this company's reviews before doing business with them.

"The negative part of our service experience was not with the technician but with the office of Rite Temp Express HVAC, LLC. It was almost impossible to contact them directly. Their phone went to voicemail and that was almost always full and not receiving messages. They didn’t respond to any of the messages I was lucky enough to leave. First American Home Warranty was absolutely fantastic in getting our A/C unit replaced and contacting the office of Rite Temp. The technicians on the team were great, courteous, professional, friendly cleaned up completely. I just hope the office will correct their phone problems and return messages.

If I could give zero reviews and still be able to comment, I would do that. I’ve waited months and months for a thermostat. Brave the Georgia heat wave and for today 5 August 2025 it’s pouring down raining for the technician to come out take my thermostat off and not even put the thermostat on that. I waited months for. For him to tell first American home warranty that it is normal wear and tear. You told them all of that, but you did not tell them how you said “ y’all got me messed up. I’m not doing this shit. It’s a swamp under this house.” Leaving without saying hey ma’am, your crawlspace is full of water. I can’t do this job. Or even hey ma’am, we’re leaving. None of that, but I saw you got that personal phone call, got pressured by that female to do whatever it is that she was ringing your head off about. Say what you want you told First American everything else tell it all. Tell them how you could’ve went to Home Depot or Lowe’s and got a thermostat and put it on my wall. Y’all made me wait months. Anybody who read this review do not use RITE TEMP if you can help it. Hell don’t use First American Home Warranty either.

My air conditioner has been broken since the end of February. My warranty company has sent 2 other companies out and the whole outside unit had been replaced. The last company came through 9 separate times with different diagnoses, made me pay thousands out of pocket for what the warranty company wouldn’t pay, and took over 2 hot months to get the air fixed…temporarily. Less than 30 days later, I heard the system break and we were back in the heat.

First American sent Rite Temp this time. The office person called within 2 hours and scheduled me for the next day. Terry and his worker were extremely professional. I heard him as he figured out the issue and explained it to the other guy. They fixed my air within 30 minutes and we can breathe again! After it was working, he explained to me exactly what was going wrong and if I need help in the future, this is the only company I want to work with. I felt like they genuinely cared about making sure that my children, my elderly mother, and I weren’t in the house suffering in this heat. I really wish First Am would have sent them back in February.

They were on time and fixed the heating issue quickly. The technician was very knowledgeable and answered every question. Great customer service!

Be very wary of this company. My home warranty provider sent them out to my house to replace the air conditioner and it was a fiasco from the start. They came out at least six times and they weren't on time for any of them. Often hours late and not as much as a courtesy call to let meet know.

It took weeks to get my new unit and I called my warranty company over and over. Each time I was told they still hadn't received the information required from Rite Temp.

After they installed my new unit it kept turning itself off. I reached out to Rite Temp to tell them this and they did not return my calls or texts. Fortunately my warranty company had someone else come out and replace the board that controls the entire system.

The worst part was that they told me I needed to have $3500 in duct work completed. I should have done more research but we did have air flow problems so I believed they could help and told them to proceed. The issues were not resolved, in fact they grew worse. I had two other HVAC companies come out to look at my system afterwards and both, unprompted, used the word "nonsensical" when they explained to me how the ductwork was installed. That is a really odd word to hear twice from two different people about the same issue. I had to spend an additional $3000 for another company to re-do what Rite Temp promised they would.

Our AC hasn't worked properly since they did the install so we had a respected company come out to evaluate the situation. They came out today and would not touch our system because the install was so bad. To work with them they would make us replace the entire unit. Here are the notes from the invoice.

"found water in secondary water
safety bec coil was not leveled properly during install, liquid line is 1/4” and needs to be upgraded and liquid line dryer was never replaced from r22 install aux drain pan is too small for coil. Will need to replace all equipment."

That's not me giving an opinion. Those are the notes from a well known and respected company in Atlanta. The drain pan being too small has also lead to water overflowing and caused damage to our ceiling.

Rite Temp HVAC did an excellent job installing my condenser coils. The team was professional, punctual, and explained everything clearly throughout the process. The installation was completed efficiently and the system is running great. I really appreciated their attention to detail and respectful service. Highly recommend!
