Avoid Michael Staley at all costs...typical sales person who does not stand behind their work once they receive their money.

Deck squeaks all over when you walk on it. I called and emailed several times and all they do is make excuses...they can't even send someone out to look at it. I spent over $20K and this is what I get. Company does not stand behind their products and wants nothing to do with you once they complete the job. The only time the deck does not squeak is after it rains. I now have a deck I cant enjoy because of the noise it makes when you walk on it.

C & M Residential Services do an exceptional job listening to its customers. Prof landscape maintenance is difficult to find, and listening to customers is almost unheard of and that’s why I love this company.

They understood what I wanted and planned a nice landscape. They took out a dead tree and cleared the area next to the house of weeds. Everything on time and done well. The only thing I am having trouble with is that they did nothing to prevent weeds from coming up. Price was good. They also changed the layout of the plants without discussing it with me.

Just spoke at length about fixing a contractor's pit in my yard in Marietta. After speaking with several of his competitors first, I can clearly tell that his practical knowledge, experience and more far exceeds the people I spoke to at the other companies Very honest, wise and straightforward.

C & M layered a concrete foundation for my patio. They came up with a concept to guard against rain, erosion and built in within 3 days. I highly recommended them for any concrete foundation work.

This review is intended to help others to make an informed choice of service providers for trash/debris pit remediation and associated concrete work.

We engaged C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES to remediate a very large builder trash/debris pit underneath our driveway and replace the concrete driveway, as well as an adjoining concrete sidewalk. We spoke with at least 5 different companies, and we selected C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES because we felt that they were the most knowledgeable, experienced, and honest based on our dialogue with them. With this said, here are the positives and negatives of our experience with C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES:

    Positives
    1) C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES knew exactly how to permanently remediate the trash/debris pit. Their knowledge and experience were evident.
    2) C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES offers a detailed variable pricing model based on labor, equipment, and materials, which is transparent and fair, especially with regard to trash/debris pit remediation.
    3) C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES did quality work in terms of the trash/debit pit remediation, addressing water lines that run underneath our driveway, identifying and repairing a structural issue underneath an adjoining corner of our garage, and with regard to the structure of the driveway.
    4) C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES was responsive to inquiries and communicated fairly well regarding status and next steps throughout the project.

    Negatives
    1) C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES is not the low-cost provider, nor do they claim to be, and they do not quote a flat amount for concrete work like many concrete companies do. So, this creates exposure to cost inflation based on C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES’ variable pricing model. Indeed, the cost of our project just so happened to be the exact amount of the high-end of C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES’s initial estimate, and the concrete work represented the primary area of cost inflation.
    2) We noticed an area of discoloration in the driveway concrete right above our water pipes immediately after the initial pour (i.e. concrete wet), and we inquired about it to C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES’ President, Michael Staley. He responded that the discoloration was typical for concrete and that it would fade in a matter of months. After numerous email exchanges and deferrals over the course of nearly 9 months, the discoloration remains, we have no idea what the cause of the discoloration is or if it will ever fade or become a larger issue, and the only options that C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES offered were (A) to replace the section and have a different form of discoloration based on the age of the new concrete, or (B) to employ C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES for additional landscaping at a discounted price. A discount/partial refund for damaged merchandise (discolored concrete) was requested but denied.
    3) In my view, C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES’ President, Michael Staley, bordered on arrogant rudeness and indifference at times in his written response to questions. This was perhaps unintended, and again, is simply my feeling.

I hope that this is viewed as a fair and helpful review by anyone considering C & M RESIDENTIAL SERVICES for trash/debris pit remediation and associated concrete work.

I met with Jason about a major clean up at my home. He was very professional and knowledgeable and the guys who came out to do the work were great! Will definitely use C & M again.

A 3 foot deep hole developed in my back yard. The hole is about 1foot by 1 foot wide. I spoke with Michael Staley a few weeks ago. He spoke with me over the phone for several minutes and determined by our conversation that what I had was a stump that was covered up during construction 40 years ago and deterioration and termites over the years had absorbed the stump , leaving a hole in the yard. Based on our conversation he suggested filling the hole with dirt with no large excavation. Michael took the time to speak with me and analyze the problem and saved me a significant amount of money. Hole will be filled and hopefully take care of the problem. If not, I will definitely call C and M Residential.

We started using C&M for seasonal jobs like pruning, aeration and overseeding, and laying mulch and pine straw. They did such a great job, we now use them for our regular biweekly lawn maintenance as well. We have been very pleased. They have always been very accommodating of anything we need.

After reaching out to C & M Residential about some holes in my yard I've been concerned about, Michael took the time to talk to me about my situation & give his professional advice based on my description. He helped me to understand what was going on most likely & how to resolve it myself, free of charge. I truly appreciate the help & definitely recommend this company!

Recommend c & m 1000%! I contacted Michael during a holiday weekend for a sink hole concern/ evaluation on our pending home purchase. He came out a day later, was extremely thorough , gave us tons of advice and made certain we understood the situation fully.

C & M Residential did a major job for us. The work was completed before schedule and because of this it came in significantly below their estimate. The workers were skilled, professional and efficient. The project manager kept me in the loop. I highly recommend them for all types of work on your property.

I really enjoyed working with C&M. We had a very overgrown yard and the team helped us get it all the horrible weeds taken away and added new plants and landscaping to make our home beautiful again. Michael and Brendan are really easy to talk to and respond swiftly to emails.

My Wife and I have lived in our home for 30 years. We have always been committed to making upgrades and improvements to our home to enhance our lifestyle. When we purchased our home we knew that eventually we would have to address our backyard situation - wooded growth, with steep graded/fluctuating topography. The type of backyard a forestry botanist or environmental geographer would relish - not so good for a backyard gathering or barbecue.

After saving and budgeting, we were ready to look for a contractor to finally convert our 'wildlands' to a real backyard.
We could not have been more fortunate to find C & M Residential Services.

Our first impression of C & M was established from our 1st meeting with C & M's registered landscape architect, Brendan Smith. It was a super-positive 1st impression. Brendan's professionalism, knowledge, friendliness, communication skills were top-flight. Once we provided our ideas and research to Brendan, he just knew exactly what we were aiming for. Not only did he provide the best option for us - the one that ensured longevity, solid engineering, and low maintenance - but showed us how the option would be cost-effective, long term.

We were very impressed with Michael Staley, President of C & M; Carl Staley, Ofc. Mgr.; and Jason Guest, Chief Operating Officer. Company operations, sincere and honest communication, and ease of communication was so valuable. There is no substitution for it.

C & M made sure that the contract details, costs, possible extra costs, engineering/construction timetable, guarantees, codes, follow-ups, payment options, and contacts were concise and detailed. NO 'hocus-pocus' /'slight-of-hand' stuff here, folks!

The straight forward communication was so refreshing and relieving.
C & M’s construction teams are expert, thorough, efficient, friendly, and open to suggestions to the project, of course within the parameters of the contract. They were just great. We were so pleased with their work. They treated the project like they were working on their own homes. It can’t get any better than that.

Pricing was not the lowest – for good reason. Customers get top-flight professional service and execution from beginning to end. More importantly, C & M’s pricing is far from being the most expensive. In my opinion, we received more than what we paid for. We are very pleased and would definitely recommend C & M Residential Services. They truly created an enjoyable outdoor living space for us.

This review is LONG overdue! The guys are Terrific! Had a long troubling sink hole and Michael came out and laid out the process to a TEE! I was dreading dealing with this but as we got into it and hole kept growing......they stayed right with it and cleaned out all the debris and layered in the backfill, compacting along the way and put everything back in place. A really pleasant experience dealing with Michael and his crew. I'm picky and I give them the highest review.....to bad all contractor experiences are not like this!!! Thxs Michael !!!

C&M has performed three landscaping jobs for us over the last several years. I have been very pleased with the outcome each time. On all three jobs, Abel and his crew went above and beyond what was contracted. For example, laying a walkway border with leftover stone, digging up an old tree stump and laying extra sod. I highly recommend C&M. High quality work, always professional and (weather permitting) always on schedule.

I have a large sinkhole in my backyard. I found C & M Residential online and filled out a request for a quote form online. I then submitted it and also called company directly to speak to someone to get the ball rolling quicker. I talked to a female employee who seemed very nice and cordial and told her what I needed. She wrote my contact info down and said someone will be contacting me within 24 hours.
Well today is day (15) and I have yet to hear one word from anyone from this company.
You only have one chance to make a good impression with me, especially when it comes to business and my money.💰
    Good Riddance!

We hired this company for residential landscaping maintenance. None of their services met expectations. We got nothing but excuses when only the front yard and not the back was mowed. They broke a large pot and vowed to replace it, but never did. When we asked if edging had been done, we received lies, then back tracking after I'd called them out on their error. When we tried to discuss challenges, their employee (who apparently had worked for the company for over 10 years) turned his back and walked away. We even met with the owner and he was nothing but chauvinistic, unprofessional and less than apologetic about our poor experiences with their company. There is nothing responsible, respectful, responsive or professional about this company. DO. NOT. USE. THEM.

C&M residential did awesome work in my backyard. I didn’t know exactly what to do and they came out and inspired me to expand my patio and add a wall. For the first time I love my backyard. Work was done at a high quality, on time and very professional. Will use them again for sure. You can tell they’ve been in the industry for 30yrs!

If you need sinkhole repair, you’ve come to the right place. Michael Staley responded to my request for help and quickly identified the sinkhole in my yard as created by the developer when clearing the land. And he was correct, the amount and kind of tree trash pulled out were unbelievable...trunks, roots, etc. I was nervous about cost since he could not give me an exact price as depth of hole was unknown and this is an expensive project. However, he did give me an estimate that was his best judgement and final cost was right in line with what he predicted. His crew worked diligently to clear the hole and fill it in. They were both professional and hardworking. I also appreciated the fact that C&M managed to maneuver the heavy equipment needed to repair the hole with as little damage to my yard as possible. That also saved me $! All in all, I am extremely pleased with the work C&M did on this job.
