From our initial contact throughout the entire project, Sylvia was attentive, reliable and very easy to work with. She listened to our ideas and created her design incorporating all of the things we were looking for, and made it even better than we envisioned. She was committed to keeping the plants native as we wished and beautifully blended greenery and stone just as we wanted. Her attention to detail and creativity is unmatched. Silvia is amazing! We built our house, and the outside was a blank canvas which felt overwhelming. She took time during our consultation to really understand the colors, and types of native and non-invasive plants we were hoping to use, and then put together the most beautiful landscape design. We have lovely color and textures year round, and our home feels so welcoming now. She has an incredible eye and design sense, and we continue to call for consults as we expand outdoor areas. We have worked with Silvia Jope of Old World Garden Designs for 15 years or so and could not be happier with her work—both as a landscape designer and in taking care of our gardens each fall and spring.

We first hired Silvia to design the flower gardens in both the front and rear of our previous home. During the initial consultation, Silvia paid careful attention to our concerns (we wanted low-maintenance flowers, trees, and shrubs) and then provided a design that was not only lovely, but an ideal fit for the property. Some years later, we moved into a condominium with a small courtyard that needed to be completely re-designed. We asked Silvia once again to come up with a design, and once again her design was ideal for the space.

Since moving into our condominium, we have asked Silvia to come once in the spring to prepare the beds for summer and once in the fall to put the garden “to bed” for the winter. She always shows up when promised, does what needs to be done, and her charge for the work is very reasonable. In a nutshell, Silvia is a joy to work with!

Andrew has completed three separate projects for us: our patio stonework, cable railing and post and retaining wall rock veneer. High-quality work was performed for all three projects and we are so happy with the finished product. For all three projects, Andrew was responsive to all questions, communicated realistic timelines and kept to them, made suggestions on what selections would improve the look (advice was spot-on), sent daily pictures to us on progress and overall was just a consistently pleasant person to work with. Andrew and VT Terrain are by far and away our favorite contractors to have worked with in Vermont. Highly recommend!

Andrew and his crew are true professionals. He replied to our initial inquiry right away, and started on the work very quickly. They did a great job on our driveway and installing a French drain to deal with excess water. He kept in communication with us regularly, and the work was completed in a timely manner. Definitely recommend these guys!

I was actually inspired and my cynicism shattered by Jeremy and Stephanie. Above and beyond doesn’t begin to describe the quality of their service. I was in a do or die situation when the propane truck couldn’t get up my drive. No one would help until I got JJ Plowing. They seem to view their work as a mission. Gratitude is a excellent virtue

I’ve never used JJ’s services, but; Today I found myself broken down and stuck in the travel portion of the roadway (rt. 15) just prior to a crest in the hill. Not safe. With me standing, tow strap in hand for just over 5min as truck after truck drove past; JJ was the only one to stop. The moment he stepped out of his truck he was positive, professional, and polite. Taking only 3min. out of his day, shows me he’s a business owner with a heart, not something you find much these days!

JJ and his crew are amazing. They’re so responsive to our needs and communication is first class. This is a truly professional business.
Now to talk about their work! This crew does such an amazing job. They’re work cleanly and efficiently meeting all our plowing needs. Long serving veterans that show up every time you need them.

While I haven’t used JJ’s plowing services, he helped me out when I slid off an icy road and my car was stuck in a snowbank. He was the only person to stop, and had me out within 10 minutes… and even gave me a few zip ties to temporarily reattach my muffler! JJ is a great businessman and such a kind person, and I’m lucky that he was in the area!

This is the third year that Jeremy, Stephanie, and their Green Mountain Crew have been instrumental in helping me to keep my driveway ready, and safe, throughout the winter season. If I need assistance, with driveway care, in between the times he, or his crew, help to clear, or sand it, Jeremy is just a phone call away ! I also enjoy his up-dates on in-coming weather, and road conditions, so his customers are aware of what to expect.

For the past 3 days, August 21-23, 2025, Jeremy has worked diligently to rebuild my driveway. From our initial conversations regarding what I was wanting to achieve, and his expertise and advisement, my driveway is the best it has ever been ! I highly recommend him to anyone who is needing driveway repairs.

Ask yourself what you want from a plowing business that takes care of your driveway.
1. You need a company that is competent and reasonably priced.
2. You need a company that will come the day of, and right after, a storm.
3. You need a company that will come back multiple times in the event of long-duration storm - especially if you have a problem with drifts due to wind.
4. You need a company that is setup for sanding and comes during and after ice-events.
5. You need a company that pays extra-attention to your driveway before the ground freezes - because we all have experienced plow guys ripping up parts of our lawn.

Well I can tell you that the people that work for JJ's are extremely conscientious and treat your driveway like it was own. I've watched these guys - before the ground has frozen - pull snow (as opposed to pushing snow) off my parking area (a lawn in summer) - to make sure the turf isn't ripped up. That kind of attention to detail and respect for the customer is hard to find. And JJ's also a full-service lawn care business.

I can't recommend these guys enough! Give them a try - you will be happy you did.

Iam a truck driver and pick a load of trees first load ever to go out on a 18 wheeler and they were very nice and very knowledgable about everything and also were very effective and quick about loading i looked around the place very awesome deff would refer to anyone
