I would not recommend Marcel's. My HOA arranged for them to inspect and clean the dryer vents and chimneys in my community, and we had a very bad experience with them:
1. Charged residents $50+ more than the agreed-upon rates, and continued to overcharge even after one homeowner caught it, warned the technicians, and told the owner it was happening.
2. Told me that they would tear up the check I gave the technician because it was for more than I should've been charged, and that they'd issue me a new bill. Instead, they cashed the check.
3. Lied about refund checks being mailed out - told us they were mailed out on a few different dates. To this day, no one has received a refund check in the mail so it seems they were never mailed out at all.
4. Told me the owner was coming to my condo to hand deliver my refund check on a specific date and time. The owner never showed up.

Finally, after all of the above, many phone calls by the board president, our property manager, and me, and over a month after the overcharge happened, the owner Venmo'd me less than what I was owed. After some pushing, he finally Venmo'd me the remaining money. I'm not sure if anyone else in the community has received their refund.

I was told $190 plus tax for a cleaning of my chimney, fireplace, including the brick facing. They "cleaned" the brick with water and cloth. The chimney cleaning resulted in an incredible amount of black soot in our living room (see attached photo).

Horrible! Always have to come back because they never do a proper job. Fire dept was here because of it! If you value your home, use someone else!

Sensational, Had our ducts cleaned and was shocked at the amount of dust and dirt they removed, it was sickening! Great price and the two employees were very informed and friendly. I will definitely use them again!!

AVOID THIS MERCHANT - TOTAL SCAM

I reached out to this company to get my dryer vent clean, should have been an easy job as my house is only 2 years old. The technician showed up late and with a strong smell of pot on him, he then assured me he did the work correctly before leaving. However, everything remained clogged and the vent exhaust on the roof looks like it was not touched at all. I even had an appliance technician verify the the poor airflow to my dryer and confirm the dryer vent as the issue. When I called Abbott to have their tech come back out again I was given all kinds of excuses. Anything from "a supervisor will call you back" to "sorry the supervisor just left for lunch" to "sorry there is nothing I can do I just book the appointments." Eventually they simply just hung up on me and stopped responding. After multiple phone calls and two weeks later I realized this was an absolute waste of $197 and I am having a different contractor re-do the entire work.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

We had Abbott Air Duct Cleaning team in last week and they were great. Arrived a bit early, phoned ahead, prompt, professional and proficient. They provided excellent service. They showed me pictures of just how clogged my duct work was. Then they showed me pictures after the cleaning. They observed COVID protocols as well by wearing masks the whole time. I would definitely hire them again. Thank you for a job well done.

For the past few months, I’d been hearing a faint whistling from one of the vents and couldn’t figure out what was causing it. I thought maybe something was loose inside the system, but when the technicians came out, they explained that the ducts were partially blocked with buildup. They were incredibly patient and walked me through everything. Once they cleaned the ducts, not only did the noise disappear, but the airflow throughout the whole house improved. The rooms that always felt a little too warm suddenly felt comfortable, and the stale smell that showed up every time the heat kicked on disappeared completely. They were so respectful of my home and made sure every bit of dust was cleaned before they left. I couldn’t be happier with the results.

After the service, I noticed a significant improvement in air quality, and my home felt fresher and cleaner. They also ensured everything was left neat and organized, which I really appreciated.

I recently had Steve out to clean my chimney. I've used them since I moved here 17 years ago. They are very professional, kept the area clean while working and don't try to up-sale you on unnecessary products or services. I'd recommend Steve and his family for any chimney or dryer vent cleaning you need.
