Brandon did a great job! He was friendly and easy going, cleaned up everything after he was done and was willing to do an extra project for us the same day. He was also able to come earlier than we planned, which was super helpful! Would definitely recommend!

He showed up on time and when we changed a few items he took them on.

We are very pleased with all his work and he has a wealth of knowledge about alot of home repairs including electrical, plumbing, and custom work requiring creativity.

I hired Brandon to remove/replace a polycarbonate clear panel roof over my deck. His price was reasonable and he did a great job! He engineered a solution to help with a water leak issue, and I could tell he wanted to do a good job. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Brandon again. You can count on him to do the job right, even if he has to come back to finish.

Can't tell you enough how much we enjoyed working with Brandon to replace our "hidden hinge" cabinet hardware with new "soft close" hardware after a cabinet refacing. We also asked Brandon to help replace pulls and handles, as we transitioned from handleless cabinets. Brandon worked quickly, was exacting, and exhibited quality carpentry skills - resulting in a very cost-effective project. Brandon has great customer service skills and sought our input throughout the process. We look forward to working with Brandon again and would highly recommend him for any of your construction and handyman needs.

Love working with Brandon! He is kind, professional, flexible, and knowledgeable. Collaborative and creative too. He did a great job with various projects around my house including helping me realize my vision for a new fireplace mantle even though I couldn’t properly articulate it. And dealing with the quirky wiring and plumbing in my very old North End home. 10/10 recommend him for whatever your needs are! I will definitely ask him to return for future projects. Jeff and Dino came to my home and installed a dresser for my daughter. They arrived on time, very professional and did a fantastic job. They even took the dresser box, trash with them. I would recommend these friendly guys any day of the week. Jeff and dino, keep up the good work.

Where do I begin? I contacted them to replace a tile backsplash in our kitchen and 2 bathrooms. We just bought our first home and this was our first time in hiring someone to do work on our house. I met with Sean at our home April 12th. He looked everything over, took his measurements and gave me the quote for the work. I said sounds good, he wrote out what supplies we needed to purchase and the amount of tile and we would see him to start work the following Monday, April 15th. He did demo day 1 and had to replace all the Sheetrock in the kitchen and bathrooms. So far so good, good communication from Sean. This all changed once the tile was getting done in the kitchen. We noticed crooked tile, sloppy lines, the trim wasn’t looking nice, damage to the walls and just messes everywhere. We contacted James the owner, sent pictures, and were met with a very defensive tone and told us “it’s a process.” Sorry but crooked tile and broken pieces is not a process. Day 3, Sean never shows up. It wasn’t until after 3 that we heard back from Sean, only because my husband called Sean and James to find out why he didn’t show up. Apparently he was sick, didn’t call or text to let us know. Sean shows up day 4, claims to be fixing the issues we pointed out. Only to arrive home to find more and more issues. It was only getting worse. Called and sent James more pictures. His response “well I didn’t know we were doing 2 bathrooms. You guys are getting a great price for this job”. First of all we weren’t looking for the “best price”. We never tried to negotiate with them, they quoted us, so why he even felt the need to say that is beyond me. We finally said enough, we did not trust them to come back and complete the job to the degree it should be done. We are now having to start all over again. Demo all the tile Sean had done, redo the Sheetrock, and re tile. After several new contractors came thru I am confident that our expectations were not unrealistic. That his messy and unprofessional work areas is not the industry standard, and his tile work was atrocious. Sean claims he didn’t feel good which is why his work was not 100% and that we pressured him in getting it done quickly. This is not the case at all. He gave us his timeline, I have the text messages where he tells me when he would be done with the work. Not one message is from me telling him to hurry up. It was excuse after excuse. Sean laughed when I told him that this was so hurtful that he took such little care and pride in our home and his work. He told me, “we’re going to go ahead and walk away from his job and i won’t charge you for the labor.” What a joke of course you’re not and I asked him if he would have done this same kind of terrible work in his own home. I told him I expect to be reimbursed for all the material and now for the demo that needs to take place to fix all his terrible work. He said, my boss isn’t going to give you any money. I am appalled by the unprofessionalism we received from Sean and even worse from the owner James. Not once did James offer to come and see Sean’s work in person. I have posted many pictures, be the judge yourself. None of these backsplashes had been grouted. Biggest disappointment I have ever experienced.

Worst experience ever! Do not hire him for any plumbing work. I needed a leak in the wall behind my hot water tank fixed and a water softener installed (all plumbing for softener was done, just needed it installed). He fixed the leak in the wall with galvanized pipe...who uses galvanized pipe in the walls any more? And he dented the hot water tank when moving it...so I had to get a new tank...all at my own expense! He didn't offer to pay for any of it! And my water softener was leaking when he left...said he would be back to fix it. It has been 3 weeks and he hasn't returned. Also, I asked for an itemized statement (since his selling point is...I don't mark up any products) and all I received was a receipt with one line item that stated "Handyman labor" and the total cost of what I paid him. And the final straw was the young "kid" he had working with him....spent the entire time smoking cigarettes in my driveway and left his cigarette butts all over. I'm not happy with my experience and would never use him again and will be letting everyone I know not to call him.

Sam with A1 installed a handrail for me. Great, quick service at a reasonable price. Would recommend to anyone.

Jared replaced 14 fence posts. He showed up on the scheduled day on time, even though we booked a month in advance. He was polite, professional, and worked like a bulldog. Really good guy. Highly recommended.

Had a leaky faucet that feeds water to the toilet, couldn't even turn the faucet off because it was so old. As long as I was at it, decided to have a new ("comfort height") toilet installed along with fixing the leak. I love the new toilet, the leak is fixed and they also installed a new outside hose bib and fixed the other leaky outside faucet. All work completed in a timely manner. Easy to contact them, they called to verify the appointment location and time, were on time and tasks completed quickly. I'll use them again. I didn't even have to go toilet shopping, I just told him what I wanted and he brought it with him.

Jarad did a fantastic job installing two overhead shelves in my garage! He was on time, pleasant to work with...spent the time to make sure I got them just how I wanted. Reasonable price for all the time he took to get it right! Thanks!

I'm not sure about the service and quality of work I received from A1 Handyman .... I first contacted them a year ago due to a leak into my baby's room from the roof. My husband and I couldnt figure out how it was getting the carpet wet. They looked on the roof and informed me that they needed to put caulk on the roof and seal the window around the baby room. They put sealant on it all and charged me a whooping $300 for the quick work. Fast forward to a month ago ... I noticed that the carpet was again wet in the same spot of the room so I called them to see if they could see what went wrong the first time they fixed it. The owner was very nice and responsive and sent someone a few days later before a massive amount of rain was supposed to hit Boise. The technician came and put more sealant on the roof and asked me to contact him if the issue wasnt fixed... 2 days later after a lot of rain I called him to tell him there was still water coming in to the baby's room. He seemed annoyed and told me he would get back to me .... He never did... I ended up calling a roofer who noticed the real problem with my roof. He did an amazing job, fixed the leak there and in several other spots, changed shingles, and even my skylight and charged me less than $300. He also knocked off the drywall in the baby's room and informed me there was mold in the walls because of this leak that was never fixed properly the previous year..... In the end I called my homeowners insurance and they were able to help me with the cost of a thorough mold cleaning and repair of the walls. I am frustrated that A1 did a rush job the first time and charged me a ridiculous fee for caulk, then when the job wasnt really fixed they just added more of the same and proceeded to ignore me. I will not use them again and decided to post this because instead of using a "handyman" sometimes it's better to get a real professional who can REALLY fix the issue for the same amount of money.....

Professional, courteous and timely are words that I would use to describe our experience with having A1 Handyman install a new bathtub shower faucet. The old leaky faucet needed replacement. The faucet installation was performed as expected without hidden charges or unpleasant surprises. We are happy to recommend A1 Handyman to anyone needing home plumbing repairs.

Jeff Jennings and his assistant Dino came promptly and worked in a timely manner. They were able to complete my list of small repairs and recommend other services needed in my home. They were professional and helpful. I would highly recommend them for any repairs needed.

Jared came out on a Thursday, gave me a quote to fix my fence and gate, came back on Monday and started/finished the job with no over charges. He was fun to be around and worked very hard to make sure things were done just as I wanted. Thanks for a great job!!

Jeff installed my fan last night. It wasn't a straight forward process but Jeff persevered and did an excellent job. He problem solved and now I have a beautiful fan. Jeff is friendly and his fees are very reasonable. I highly recommend him for any handyman work.

I had an issue with a fire alarm in the garage, made an appointment with an electrician who didn't show up, and I contacted Jeff. He was very prompt, came the same day, spent a lot of time although it was about & PM, and he was tired, and diagnosed the problem. He came when he said he was going to come, kept me informed about the progress of obtaining parts, was knowledgeable, and honest, and I recommend him wholeheartedly. Now I don't need to call around when I need something done, I'll call Jeff and I know it will be taken care of.

Jeff estimates the work before doing it and does a good quality job on all work and stays within the estimate. He has done various repairs and electrical work and painting for me and I've been happy with the work. I've recommended him to my sister.
