Daniel is an expert arborist. He cares about trees. He has been treating my ash tree in Woodridge, IL for years against the emerald ash borer disease and it is doing great. Only a handful left in Woodridge - treatment works.

Daniel also excavated 4 of my trees to allow the roots to expand. Thinking I was doing the right thing, I put top soil around them each year. This compacted the soil. The excavation lessened this compaction, freed the roots and my trees are doing great. Glad I did it.

We just had our trees trimmed by Green Extraction and they did a remarkable job! Daniel was very knowledgeable and explained what they were doing. Daniel and the Green Extraction Technologies crew were fantastic! To start, the assessment of our property and quoting process were the most detailed and informative of all of the companies we sourced. Daniel is a wealth of knowledge regarding urban forests. He seems to have a true passion for his job. He gladly answered our myriad of questions on site and was timely in answering follow-up questions.

They were flexible in scheduling the services and made sure that our Elm tree was pruned in the appropriate season to avoid Dutch Elm Disease.

We chose to save a large, storm weathered tree by electing to install 5 rods between two sections, bracing it from the stress of winds and rubbing. Preserving this tree ensures we will continue to have full shade in our backyard for years to come.

In addition to having our trees trimmed, we also had a diseased Blue Spruce cut down and overgrown brushes from our property torn out. They went above and beyond to remove roots and debris.

Finally, they performed root collar excavations/airspading on two of our trees in the parkway that were struggling from compacted, clay soil. This will give them a fighting chance to fully mature.

It was clear that they put a lot of time and thought into the job. It was a very satisfying and educational experience. We look forward to working with Green Extraction Technologies in the future as we develop our eco-friendly property.

We have a very large Crimson King Maple that has structural issues since it wasn't pruned 30+ years ago. Daniel was extremely thorough and discussed our options. We didn't want to have to take the tree down, neither did Daniel, because it is so beautiful. He explained the risks and structural issues with the tree and how we can address the dead branches and make sure to have it trimmed safely. We are very pleased with the result, the branches are properly trimmed while keeping the natural tree shape. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

One day in late spring, our Linden tree started dropping leaves as if it was fall. It continued for several days. Personnel at Morton Arboretum suggested that we contact a certified arborist. We contacted Daniel Miraval at Green Extractions Technologies, and he came right away to evaluate our tree. He explained in detail what was causing the loss of leaves and developed a rescue plan for us to follow. While on our property, he noticed that our Crimson King maple had two limbs improperly cabled together. My husband and I were impressed by Daniel’s true concern for our trees. Within a couple of days, Green Extraction Technologies’ work crew came and corrected the situation with the proper cabling to improve the tree’s structural integrity and to manage risk from existing defects. Daniel and his crew took great care in removing a very tall dying spruce tree from our front yard and a couple of unwanted mulberry trees that had sprouted in the back too close to our house in north Glen Ellyn. The crew arrived within the appointment window, worked efficiently, and cleaned up all the tree detritus. We had a good discussion about future services that could improve the health and appearance of our property, and Daniel was sensitive to our lifestyle, physical limitations, and budget in making helpful suggestions. We had a number of tree care issues including a tree removal, several large maples that needed pruning and two trees that required bracing rods and cables for structural support. Daniel and his crew did an amazing job removing my damaged tree! This weeks snow storm made two major branches fall from my beloved Bradford Pear tree. They quickly removed the debris, cut down the remaining branches that were hanging precariously over my garage, and swiftly removed the stump flush with the ground. They cleaned the remaining debris and as many of the leaves as possible.

I have been working with Wayne, Daniel, and Brianna for four years to save a treasured 75 year old ash tree that the Emerald Ash Borer attacked. I am well outside of their service area but they have coached me on the science and some self-treating options, and also visited to inject the tree annually as well. They recently pruned the tree's damaged parts to re-energize the recovering areas. They were careful about protecting the grass/yard, and they cleaned up like they were never there! They have been so thorough and professional in their follow ups and communications. They are the BEST!!

We have 2 maple trees that have grown very tall and too close to our home. I had asked Emerald Tree Care to have a look at them and for recommendations. Green Extractions Technologies a sister company/ came out, evaluated the trees and situation. Daniel and his crew did a surgical pruning job on both trees. My wife and I agree, the trees look great after GET did their very professional work and clean up. Daniel gave us his recommendations on the the two maples and another tree which we plan to follow up on. We needed tree pruning for three of our trees - a big locust and two maples so Daniel came out to give an estimate in a very timely manner. Daniel went above and beyond considering additional trees in my yard and the care they needed. For example, I had a Japanese lilac tree in front that we planted about three years ago and Daniel (a master gardener/tree specialist) recommended we had a root collar excavation to help the root system. He explained the importance of this to help the tree thrive in the coming years - I really appreciated that. He provided additional advice on how to help our two maples that had never been under the care of a professional gardener. Bottom line, Daniel and his team were professional, affordable and went above and beyond to ensure our trees do well in the coming years. We'll definitely use them again in the future.

We called Daniel to get an estimate on removing a tree at our new home. He responded quickly and not only provided us with an estimate but also with information about the trees on our property and written info. on those species that were invasive. His crew did an amazing job with pruning our trees and removing the one tree. Daniel spent a significant amount of time educating us about proper care of the trees we have. Daniel and his crew did an amazing job removing some very big and diseased Austrian pines. They also did some pruning with other trees and bushes. They came at exactly the time they said they would, they were amazing with cleanup and were so courteous and nice. Daniel is incredibly knowledgeable about tree and plant care. My husband and I used Green Extraction Technologies to remove several dead or invasive trees, level and remove small stumps and foliage along our fence line, and prune a large maple. I don't typically post reviews, but I decided to review my recent tree trimming. Daniel with Green Extraction Technologies trimmed 5 trees and removed 2 small shrubs for us. The price was fair and his crew was top notch. I had another tree company do work previously but decided to use Daniel this time. They did a great job and I will certainly use them again in the future.

He was responsive, professional and knowledgeable and most importantly safe. His crew took the time to do a good job in a safe manner.

Very professional and extremely prompt response. We had a massive dead stump that was next to the house and Daniel came out and removed it within 10 min. We definitely highly recommend him and will be using him in the future for sure.

I didn’t even know these types of services were available until my wife told me our trees were in trouble. I’ve never heard of anyone contacting a “tree service” before. But when I look around my neighborhood, I am now noticing that so many trees are starting to show signs of distress and other issues. By the time we noticed this in our own backyard, it was too late for two of our trees and they had to be removed by Daniel and his team.
I have 12 trees front and back in a suburban neighborhood. Daniel came in and offered his advice for each. My wallet started shaking in fear in my back pocket. Again, who needs “tree service?” WTH.
I have never been more wrong.
Daniel came in and pruned and OMG, what a difference. I have one tree in my front yard I wanted to get rid of. It was too mangy and large. After Daniel and his team corrected and pruned, it looks like a completely different tree. It’s amazing. They did this to all my trees. They have a lift that takes them to the top of the tree. They all look so uniform and a perfect cylindrical shape through the canopy. Just looking at them all now is very satisfying. And the trees are healthier. And hopefully, happier, and will stick around. I have to replace at least one I lost. I hope never to have to do that again.
I also had a maple that was distressed due to root strangulation. I could see the leaves were lighter colored at the tips of all the branches and it’s a huge tree. Daniel brought in this incredible machine that blows away all the dirt around the base of tree and roots so his team can cut off the roots causing the strangulation. It’s called root de-girdling. Hard to believe a tree does not know better than to do this but I can see it in so many trees I look at now. If you can see the roots above the flare of the tree, you probably should get a consult for tree de-girdling if you want to keep the tree for as long as possible.
Daniel and his team, all of his team, are extremely knowledgeable. One gentleman was a tree historian for the city of Chicago. Several were actual certified arborists. So much knowledge and they answered every question we had. Very patient with us and explained all they could in lament terms.
As much as I did not want to spend the money initially, I feel as if this was money well spent. I’m not losing any more trees. They also offer to be a consultant for any tree plantings, if you use a landscaper. I will be utilizing this service when I plant the new tree. More money now, but if it is planted correctly, then I should never need to replace it. We lost the two trees as they were not planted at the correct depth. I’m still upset about it.
Lastly, these are not landscapers. These are certified arborists. Very different. My sincere appreciation to Daniel and his team for all they did!

What a great experience! Daniel was professional and knowledgeable about all our trees. We have large older trees in Glen Ellyn that needed to be trimmed and wanted to be sure that what we had done was best for their overall health. Daniel came out and quoted the work that needed to be done, then arrived on time the day of trimming, coordinated the power disconnect with ComEd ( not blaming him for ComEd not coming back until after 6pm to reconnect) and completed the trimming and clean up to our satisfaction.
