Constraction reviews in Chicago, Illinois

I scheduled an appointment with Budget Construction Company for an on-site estimate related to a home renovation project. At the scheduled time, I called the company to ask for an estimated arrival time. I was told by Will that I was on the schedule for the day and that someone would call me back with an update—but no one ever followed up, and no one arrived.

While I understand that delays or emergencies can happen, the complete lack of communication and follow-through was unprofessional. Respecting a potential client’s time is a basic expectation, and this experience did not instill any confidence in the company’s reliability or customer service.

Budget, thank you so much for all your hard work in remodeling my 2nd floor bathroom! The price was right in budget and the bathroom looks exactly how I pictured. I am completely satisfied. I will definitely be calling you again when I am ready to refinish my basement!

Awesome client service and follow up. I mostly love that they make my kitchen floor beautiful. After calling multiple companies to replace my floor, Budget responded timely and their price was very competitive. It's still a joy to cook with my grandbabies and I love that they check in with me from time to time to see if I need anything else.
Thank you so much. I will continue to highly recommend you!

budget construction did a amazing job remodeling my kitchen. After several estimates they met me with the best price. from start to finish they had amazing communication and amazing work.I would definitely suggest and choose them in the future. during the process they even gave awesome suggestions in making in look so much nicer! I was even so amazed that it was done so quickly! Thank you budget construction!

The service was great from financing to final inspection. During the vinyl siding project, all of our questions were answered quickly. We have used Budget Construction for many projects and like always we were fully satisfied with the end result.

I bought a condo in downtown Chicago and updated the whole thing. Budget was so responsive and detail oriented. They update the bathroom, gutted and updated the kitchen, put in a new divider, and updated the walk in closets. In the middle of the project, the floors needed to be redone because of a flood in the building (no fault of the construction) and Budget was so helpful and patient in making sure the repairs were done quickly and I received so many compliments on my first home. I was shocked at how affordable it was. Their quotes were accurate and they were attentive and fair from the beginning. Here are the before and afters. Thanks so much!

Owner was responsive to my request for a bid, was prompt and really knew about constructing a deck on a roof top. His crew was careful, did excellent work and cleaned the site at the end of every wilorking day. Finished on time and for the quoted amount. Pleasant experience.

This company is the only deck company you need to call. The team just finished a re-deck for us and we are impressed. Effiecient, professional, good value and cleans up every day. Also, listen to Ovi’s recommendations… his suggestions were spot on. Highly recommend.

4th Generation recently installed a deck on my condo garage top on the North Side of Chicago. It was refreshing to work with such a reliable company that kept in constant communication about the status of our project, timeline, cost, etc. Incredibly, the team of builders installed my deck(over 800 sq ft) in less than 3 days. The quality of their work is excellent and for a very reasonable and competitive price. I would recommend them 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.

We had 4th Generation Construction work on our self-managed condominium building (flat roof) repair, they did a good job I appreciated the hands-on presence by the owner during the project. The follow-up on a trailing item needing attention was expeditious and we were pleased with the outcome of the job.

Ovi and his team are incredible. From project planning through completion, Ovi really understands the value of customer service. Ovi approached our project as if it were his own home. Strong and clear communication throughout the entire process. From bringing over material samples, consulting on best practices, to even going the extra mile to ensure a happy customer. Thank you 4GC for all your work and we're excited to continue referring you to our friends and neighbors!

Ovi and his team were every bit professional, timely and friendly. Prior to work starting they were consultative and found ways to work within our budget. They made helpful suggestions without hard selling. Once work began they even fit us in ahead of schedule! Ovi was on site with Javier's team and remained involved with the whole project. I highly recommend 4gc! Thank you, Ovi and team!

Excellent quality work. Quick and responsive communications. Ovi runs a highly professional business. His team built a new front porch (ours was falling apart), which has improved the curb appeal of our house substantially. Highly recommend.

Ovi and his team are fantastic. Ovi was helpful in giving guidance as to the design elements and the construction of our main deck and upper balcony deck. He was able to construct exactly what we envisioned and took an eye sore of a deck that was falling apart into something we will enjoy for many summers to come. I can’t believe they completed our main deck and an upper deck in two weeks. The attention to detail was there and I had full confidence in the workmanship. The team works so efficiently and effectively, were so respectful of neighbors and left a clean worksite. I would highly recommend Ovi for your deck construction or other projects.

Ovi and his crew were amazing. They were on time, easy to work with, very professional, cleaned up after completing the project and best of all quality work. We will continue to hire them for further home projects. We had them do our buildout for our family business and they did a great job and rehired them for remodeling our sunroom. They did such a great job with both projects. Highly recommend.

Ovi and his team are professional, friendly, and provide excellent, quality work. We’ve used 4GC twice, once for our city roof deck, and most recently, our home in the suburbs. Both projects were exceptionally executed. We highly recommend 4GC.

We are owners / operators of multi-family apartment buildings in the Western Suburbs. We hired 4th Generation Construction to remove and rebuild 8 patio balconies on our 11 unit apartment building. We have worked with MANY contractors over the years and Ovi and his crew are hands down the best. They arrived at the job-site every morning by 8 am and worked until late into the evening and weekends. We were also promptly notified if they were delayed due to weather / rain. Ovi was extremely knowledgable when working with out somewhat difficult village regarding permits. The final product is absolutely beautiful! I wish all our contractors were as good as 4th Generation!

Amazing work! Not only were they priced very competitively for the replacement of 3 decks on a three flat, but they were here and done in the blink of an eye. Ovi was here each day supervising and his crew was so professional. They somehow left our yard cleaner than when they arrived! I would recommend 4GC Decks to anyone!

We used Ovi for a brand new build out of our garage roof deck. I was impressed with his material options, his honesty about timeline and communication throughout. His team that did the work were meticulous and kept the site incredibly clean. They also all followed covid protocols super well; wearing masks throughout and every time I interacted with Ovi he was socially distanced and masked. My husband used to install decking like this (but admittedly didn’t want to take on a roof project) and commented on how perfect the instal and finished product were. If we end up adding on with a pergola, Ovi will be our first call

Ovi was very responsive when I first reached out to have him come by and provide an estimate for a rooftop deck. He talked me through the pros and cons of multiple material options and he also offered his thoughts on different layouts that would work well for our space. Up front, Ovi prepared us for the possibility of delays to the project due to the supply chain issues created by the pandemic.

While we waited for Ovi to receive the decking from the supplier, Ovi was great about keeping me in the loop and responding to my request for updates. Once the project got started, Ovi and his team worked efficiently to build a beautiful deck that was everything that we talked about during our first meeting. We are thrilled with the work that Ovi and his team did, and we would highly recommend 4th Generation Construction to anyone in the market for a new deck.

Ovi was very easy to work with and helped answer all of my questions before booking my installation. Ovi and his team were professional, quick, and did an overall great job! I had my wood balcony redone with composite decking - I live on the second story of a 3 unit walk up. The team moved not only my furniture but also ensured that my neighbors property was moved and out of the work zone. They cleaned up thoroughly and moved everything back, and made the whole process incredibly smooth.
