We had Cityscape out last November to help winterize our yard and install some river rock along the side of our house. Ed came out and explained everything very thoroughly and the work was able to be performed very quickly without us needing to be home.

We were very happy with the entire Cityscape experience and would certainly recommend them and use them for future landscaping needs.

Cityscape transformed a drab, awkward space into a beautiful patio. I get compliments often from strangers passing by. Their crew was professional and helpful. I would hire Cityscape again in a heartbeat.

The front of my condo building was in desperate need of an overhaul and the team was super knowledgeable in helping us figure out exactly what would meet our needs. We had a great experience working with Ed and the whole Cityscape crew! Our small backyard was overgrown and flooded every time it rained. Ed came up with the perfect plan to overhaul the layout plus add a new drainage system. We haven't had any water issues since and the yard looks amazing a year later. Would highly recommend!

The gentlemen that own and run this business are very professional, and their landscapers are true experts. I worked with Jon, and he was incredible -- thorough, thoughtful, patient, and a perfectionist. We had an issue with some of the artificial turf, and they have been diligent and patient in trying to resolve it with me. I would recommend their work (and their work ethic!) to anyone. First class.

Ed’s team was patient as we sorted through dimensions, and once we were on the schedule, they delivered nicely. Staff was courteous and worked diligently to complete within about 5 days. Before and after pics included.

Horrible experience with Cityscape Landscape. After trying to coordinate a time for Tim to come out and review the project he was able to come last week. We spent 30 minutes discussing the different options, mulch, rocks, lowering the border to make it more cost effective, turf etc. He assured me that he would provide two estimates within a weeks timeframe that I could submit to my HOA for approval. After Tim visited the property, I received an email from Kevin who I believe is the owner, and he asked me what he could do to win my business. We exchanged several emails discussing the situation and I asked him to please provide the estimates as soon as they were available. A week went by and I never heard anything from cityscape landscaping. I followed up and Kevin responded and said that they could not do the work within the budget I’d provided. I responded and said please send the estimate anyway I would like to submit it for approval to my HOA. He said he didn’t want to waste any more time and that it wasn’t worth giving me the quote. After spending 30 minutes with this company discussing different options and leaving with the hope that we could find a solution, to come back and not even be able to provide an estimate is incredibly shocking and disappointing. Do not waste your time. Go find a local landscaper/smaller company who knows what they’re doing, is equally as competent, and who is loyal and will deliver a great service and product to you

I've been using City Landscaping for the last few years to take care of my 2 terraces. They are good value for City of Chicago landscapers. Clean, courtesy and responsive. I love the summer oasis they created for me! Highly recommend

Was very pleased with Cityscape landscape. I worked with Ed, and he was very responsive, transparent and fair with pricing, and showed a genuine interest and care in producing a great product. The pictures speak for themselves. He was able to take my vision for my property and make it a reality. I can’t wait to work with them again on a future landscaping project.

Alex and his crew did a wonderful job on my small back deck and patio. Alex was kind and attentive, and even at the busiest time of the year, managed to move my project earlier onto his schedule when an unexpected opening occurred. His crew did outstanding, careful work and left the backyard neat and clean when they were done (which has been a struggle in the past -- I'm looking at you, fence company that destroyed my flower beds...). I highly recommend them!

We worked with Mary on our backyard project and really love the outcome. When a few of our hydrangeas weren’t doing so well, she was responsive, helped us out with some watering tips, and came out to our place personally and suggested we replace a couple of them to start over. A neighbor recommended Cityscape and we would too!

We worked with Ed and the team at Cityscape and they did an amazing job. We turfed the front yard, moved some of the existing plants, adding new plants and the space is completely transformed.

Oh Man! How can I explain the gratitude I have for Ed and Cityscape? We had a monster of a trash tree in our courtyard when we bought our house and the roots was causing the hardscape to come up. With Ed's suggestion we found an arborist to take down the tree (it was very tedious) and the next day Ed and his crew was there to create a budget friendly courtyard for us! We got hardscape and sod as well as some cute bushes, grasses, and a tree. Ed was very understanding of wanting pet friendly, we can't kill it, kind of plants and he was so patient with us while we tried to figure out exactly what would work for the place. His recommendations were what we did and I cannot be happier. It's been about 5 month and with Ed's instructions we somehow did not kill our grass and the plants are doing well. We'll definitely be back anytime we need anything to do with plants. I cannot get over Ed and his crew and how budget friendly and happy I am with my first courtyard in Chicago.

I highly recommend Cityscape for your landscaping needs. I have been using them over the past ten years and have been so pleased with their work. They have helped me with the design, installation and maintenance of our front and backyard gardens. Every season, I look forward to their great work. I can't recommend Cityscape Landscaping enough; I have been so pleased with their great work and so will you!

We have used Cityscape Landscape twice now in our current home and plan to bring them back every year to keep things looking fresh and beautiful! We had them remove rocks and create complete plant beds with trees, bushes and flowers the first time they came which turned out beautifully! This May we had them come again to create another landscaping bed with trees, bushes and flowers and they had the sweetest idea of a little stone pathway for my daughters to play on! They also landscaped our empty grass parkway in front of our house with a beautiful weeping blooming cherry tree, a large boulder and rose bushes and flowers! I am absolutely in love with everything they have done and Mary was always helpful with changing the quote to fulfill exactly what I wanted (since I am extremely picky - I don't like orange flowers ha!). I couldn't be happier and would recommend them to anyone. Cannot wait for them to come back next spring to clean up (inclusive of washing our astroturf lawn!) and adjusting any planting needs to make sure our yard is looking its best.

We worked with Jon, Tomas, Salomon and the rest of the team on a relatively extensive outdoor patio and stone platform with stairs down to it. We included electrical outlets, gas lines for fire, heater and grill hookups and a screen around the air conditioners. The team communicated well, was very attentive, and did high quality work. This was not a couple of layers of sand and then pavers. There was extensive grading, stone foundations, layers of aggregate, coordination with electricians, plumbers and welders - it was a big job for a residence. We are very happy with the results. Jon was very patient with us as we adjusted the designs, had his own suggestions and ultimately helped bring our vision to life by being very regularly present at the job site. Cityscape was not cheap, but we could see the amount of work that was done and the care taken to complete it, and we've already gotten a lot of value from the results. Special thanks to the team who was there most days for several weeks working around the irrigation system, preserving hardy board siding so we could patch things up later, working in the summer heat and trying very hard to be responsive to our questions/concerns/requests and not be annoyed when I was outside checking out what they were doing.

Cityscape has been planting my patio for years. They are extremely responsive and stand by their work. When a lilac didn't make it through its first Chicago winter, they replaced it. When I started using them they installed a drip irrigation system on a timer. This year the timer didn't work so they replaced the timer the next day and the plants that had died. The patio always looks beautiful They also help me uncover the BBQ grill in the spring and put up my patio umbrella and cover everything in the fall. I give them 5 stars and highly recommend them

We could not be happier with the work that Jon and his team did to our front and backyard. They completely reinvented the space, creating some privacy as well as open play space for our kids. They quadrupled our usable space and worked with us to find plants that were easy to maintain and durable. The whole team was very professional, friendly, and quick. Jon has been incredibly responsive and it is clear that he really cares about the work that he does. He has come out multiple times to check up on the project, follow up on any concerns and show us how to care for the plants. He responds to texts and emails in a timely manner and has been super easy to work with. Cannot sing his praises enough!

We finally pulled the trigger to upgrade our outdoor space (like everyone else these days!). At the end of February 2021, I reached out to a few landscape design companies around Chicago; Ed from Cityscape was the first to respond. He took the time to understand our goal to create a space with more privacy, plenty of greenery and clever use of available space with a contemporary design elements. He co-developed a plan with me and after a few iterations had a solid proposal covering irrigation, gas & electric, plants, turf, fiberglass and a lot of aluminum and steel! This probably took longer than I had anticipated, but in hindsight it was likely also a good thing because there were plenty of details I hadn't initially thought through.

During the project, I enjoyed his easy-going and pragmatic work style; he checked in regularly to discuss key decisions and also had a great crew that really seemed to enjoy working with him. To me that's important, because it will reflect in the quality and attention to detail of the final product; it takes a whole team to pull it together. By labor day the project was complete and we were able to enjoy our awesome outdoor space (including a lower level play area for the kids) into late summer.

I would highly recommend Ed & Cityscape for your next outdoor project.
