Nice place
Huge supply of trees and shrubs.
With the chilly weather we were a little early for the flowering annuals. 4/2/22. -
Shady Creek has a good amount of plants to choose from along with mulch and rock. They have a large selection of hand tuned wind chimes, some of the best I have ever heard.

First time stopping here. Great place, good people to help you find what your looking for, and PLENTY of awesome stuff to browse through to tease your tastes! Can't wait to go back there!

Beware Shady Creek Plant Nursery warranty policy. They tell you they guarantee plant replacement for no charge ( but you have to plant them yourself or pay for another planting fee ) if they
originally planted your purchase for you and it dies within one year. They planted two trees for me and when they both died, Shady Creek demanded a 25% up charge payment for the replacement trees because they had increased their tree pricing in the past year. That's not a free replacement guarantee. That's a Joe Biden inflation gotcha guarantee. -
I've bought a ton of shrubs for my house and always had a great experience. We buy a lot of decorative gravel and landscaping supplies for our customers there, too.

Home town appeal. Friendly, polite and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of plants, trees and ornaments. Healthy plant stock. I just enjoy perusing here, even when I don't have a purchase in mind.

Very helpful as I had very limited knowledge going in. Staff walked me through exactly what I needed.

Shadycreek Nursery & Garden, Columbia, IL
I hate to write this review, but this is the second time that I have been to this place and no luck! These are the rudest people ever, I went there, thru the week, thinking I could get some help with trees and flowers and I saw five different workers and NOT ONE OF THEM asked us if they could help us or if we needed anything. They would not even look at us?? Thinking going thru the week it would not be as busy, we were right, they only had 2 other people there beside us. Everything is all over the place so it was hard to tell what was what and a lot of stuff was blown over on the ground. Two employees were about 15 ft. from us and ignored us. I won't waste my time again trying here again. Maybe they don't like out of the area shoppers... I bought items from a different location today, 5.23.2019. I am sure I am not the only person that they have treated this way it did happen to me before.. I don't need to spend my money this way... -
If you purchase any plants from these guys, especially in the fall, make sure you never take the discount. They will ask you if you want the discount, but will not tell you verbally that if you take it, you void any warranty that you may have. If you do take the discount, check the fine print on the receipt. Buyer beware.

Love this place. Great selection of plants, shrubs and trees. Also has mulch and rock by scoop. Always helpful employees. Reasonable prices too!

Went here to purchase 4 trees (about $500 worth)The guy was very helpful at first in showing us their inventory. Once we decided, we inquired about delivery (a service mentioned on their website) and he said we’d have to buy the trees before they could tell us the delivery price. Thinking it was odd we were going to purchase the trees and borrow a truck from a friend to which the kid informed us that if we don’t have a truck now we can’t buy them today since they are closing. Needless to say we will be finding somewhere else to make our purchase.

I have frequented this nursery. The outdoors display of plants is beautiful. The inside of the nursery is well arranged with beautiful yard ornaments and local seeds. They have a variety of grass seed as well.. The woman today was well versed in horticulture and very pleasant in nature. There is only one product that I wanted they didn't have and that was mushroom kits.

I love coming here! The staff is amazing. I come for rocks to put in my aquariums. Very inexpensive and fun to dig through the rocks. Great brands of peat moss. And they have a beautiful koi pond so I'm sold.

I had been looking for a small deer statue. Yay, found it here. Got this cute little guy too

We'd been looking for a White Flowering Eastern Redbud tree for several years and decided to look again the first week of May 2024. Visiting several nurseries, no one had any but one nursery suggested Shadycreek. We called and they had two left. A quick trip to Columbia, IL, off of I-255 and we arrived. A nice selection of other trees as well. We asked if they would deliver (a tight fit in our car - it would be hanging out), and they said yes for a fee. We purchased on a Thursday and delivery was set for Thursday. I was AMAZED 😍 when it showed up later in the afternoon. 👍👍
