Jacob W did our Membership plumbing inspection and was very knowledgeable. He gave us tips and recommendations to keep to keep our pipes in the best condition possible in our new home. We truly appreciate the expertise that TR Miller brings to these services and Jacob is no exception

We have used them many times and they are honest and reasonable!! We had ABC plumbing come out yesterday and give us a ridiculous price to fix our water heater - between 2.5K and 8K. FLADER Came today, fixed it, and let us know that the part that was broken was under warranty. I would use them 100 times over before I ever call anyone else!! Highly recommend!!!

I'd rate this company lower if I could.
When you are told to look out for contractors that will scam you, these are those people. From the "engineer" who did the initial assessment to the skilled craft that "completed" the install, I have never seen such poor quality and untrustworthy behavior. We spent over 40k for me to have to sweep up after the workers every day. Just plain lack of quality and professionalism.

I am extremely satisfied by the work American Vintage Home performed and more specifically Daniel is the man!!! American Vintage Home was the 3rd company I called to diagnose leaks coming from multiple AC Mini Splits installed at my home. Where the other companies gave me vague guesses on the cause of the leaks Daniel gave me correct specifics and then repaired them with speed. For future HVAC issues AVH will be the first place I call!

Leo is always great! He explains things clearly and gets the job done fast. He’s been out for 3 projects already and we’ve always been happy.

Toilet repair, 2 shut off valves added to outdoor water supply and replaced the outdoor spigots, also flushed the gas tankless water heater. He did a great job. Very conscientious and fully explained all that he did. Saved the day for sure.

I have used American Vintage Home for years. Their prices are not the cheapest, but I have been very impressed with the expertise of their technicians and engineers. And they have been courteous, efficient, and left the place clean. Bryan came today to do service on my air conditioner and he was excellent.

Tony came and capped the broken kitchen waste clean-out cap, and began investigating a slow leak in the boiler room. Took care of everything so we can do the right thing to resolve the leak. Much appreciated.

Greg and Daniel did a great job installing new furnace & A/C units! Arrived on time with the selected replacement systems, removed the old systems, merged the new systems with the existing lines & ductwork, cleaned up the indoor and outdoor work areas. I appreciate that the work was done with professional care and attention, and in a single day. Special thanks to Greg for answering my questions about the new system and going over the important details once the work was completed.

Joe V. from American Vintage Home is incredible! He’s been out to my condo many times and has been nothing short of amazing. Always eager to help. Always ready to explain exactly what he’s doing and why he’s doing it. Could not recommend Joe enough.

We had a truly awful experience with Vintage Home. Our contractor arrived severely late and outside of the previously agreed upon arrival window. He spent 3 hours “diagnosing” our furnace and was not able to fix a thing. Furthermore during that process he cut open two of our pipes and was unable to patch them “because he forgot to put pipe tape in his truck.” So he said we could fix them ourselves instead (are you joking?). The entire process was highly unprofessional and left our system even more damaged than it started as. This cost us $600 btw (for no fix, and more unresolved damaged to our pipes). Furthermore he provided a $1,700 quote for a new inducer motor. I reached out to 3 other companies and received 3 quotes for $950 for the same exact service. So this place is severely over priced and a scam. Avoid at all costs!!!

I called asking for a quote to repair a boiler. No one ever mentioned a fee for a quote in the multiple phone calls I had with their scheduling agents or their technicians. After the tech gave me a quote he told me I owed them $90. You can’t surprise people with charges like this, that’s a scam!

I've lived in a prewar building in Chicago since 2015. In 2022, I called American Vintage for help with my toilet that wasn't flushing completely after seeing their van parked in front of my building. Their technician came and replaced the flush valve. Initially I was pleased with the service, but my toilet hasn't been flushing completely for about 1 year now and I won't spend another $700 (or more) to have them come out again.

Bryan G was great! Came out on NYE and couldn’t have been nicer. He was kind and helpful and polite. Very happy with our service!

This young man serviced my old (20 plus years) steam boiler. His expertise and customer service was excellent. Will use this company again and I highly recommend their services. Ask for Daniel.

    Best.

Igor is kind, fair, and explains his process very well. I trust him implicitly. We signed up for the annual care plan after meeting him. He serviced our furnace and air conditioner recently, and the service is exceptional.

Thank you! Lauro was super kind, knowledgeable, and professional. He put new kitchen plumbing in. I appreciate that we are not charged until the problem is fixed! Please thank him for his excellent work.

We had a pipe burst which was a stressful situation for us. Lauro our plumber was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, patient, and communicative. He fixed the problem and set us at ease. We will be calling Lauro again for any future problems.

UPDATE - I deleted my original review to give American Vintage Home an opportunity to respond again, however it is reposted below.

In the meantime, I want to provide an important update to my previous review. After posting my initial experience, American Vintage Home responded publicly asking me to reach out so they could "resolve" the situation. I did as they asked, but unfortunately, I never received any call back.

It’s worth noting that they seem to do this on every negative review they receive. They make a public show of wanting to make things right, but based on my experience, and I suspect many others’, they do not actually follow through. So don’t be misled by their public responses. They appear to be more about appearances than real resolution.

2ND UPDATE - See below. These responses are clearly written by AI and they subsequently don't return your phone calls. They have no intention of working with you, honoring their word, or making it right.

    ORIGINAL REVIEW -
I engaged American Vintage Home to address an issue with our mini-split system. We had a service plan with them, so I expected a professional and thorough resolution. Unfortunately, the experience turned into a long and costly ordeal that left me deeply dissatisfied.

When they first came out, they misdiagnosed the problem as a power surge issue and suggested we buy surge protectors (something that would have been an unnecessary expense. Thankfully, we didn’t purchase them.) The real issue turned out to be a coolant shortage/leak, which the first technician completely missed. By the time a second technician identified this, we’d already experienced delays that compounded over the next season.

We ended up paying $1,339 for a recharge that only lasted just four days, and the same technician who initially suggested a simple recharge/leak repair now recommended a full system replacement. This was a complete shift in their assessment, despite the same visible rust and issues that had been present from the start.

To add to the frustration, another company later quoted us only $180 for the same recharge/leak repair service and it appears that other local companies operate in the same range. In other words, we were massively overcharged by American Vintage Home who subsequently left us high and dry on the replacement service because "it's not the sort of thing they do." despite Air Conditioner Installation being a primary listing on their website and continuously claiming to be experts in "older homes".

Despite these facts, they only refunded a bit over half of what I paid, leaving me out just under $600. Given that the initial diagnosis was flawed and the recommendation changed dramatically, I believe I was entitled to a full refund.

In conclusion, I cannot recommend American Vintage Home for either their repair services or their service plans. Their inconsistency, lack of integrity in standing behind their work, and poor communication made for a deeply unsatisfactory experience. I’ve since canceled my plan and will be looking elsewhere for air conditioning support.
