I am very concerned about this company’s billing practices. I was quoted $250 for a basic winter cleanup, but the final bill was $437, based on claimed labor time that I personally questioned.

Although you are required to sign a contract acknowledging possible overages, it was not clearly explained that the estimate could be significantly lower than what you actually end up paying.

After disputing the charge, I still paid $350 promptly, yet I was sent another bill for $87 plus a $25 late fee. The office/mail manager who contacted me about this was rude and unprofessional.

Based on what I observed, I do not believe the time billed accurately reflected the work done. I would strongly caution other consumers to monitor how long laborers are actually working on your property, clarify how time is tracked, and be aware that final costs may be far higher than the estimate

I highly recommend this landscaping company, especially if you have stormwater runoff issues, as I did.
The design process was excellent. It specifically addressed the stormwater flow, thereby directing it away from my home. The landscaping team was under the watchful eye of Joe Pollina, the designer of my project and the company founder...it don't get any better than that. They finished the job a day early and right on the quoted price...no "surprise" unexpected issues.

Pollina has taking care of our home in Park Ridge and lake house in Antioch for many years.

5 stars for high quality of work, high level of professionalism, and good communication. Tommy Pollina is the rare type of contractor that actually prioritizes their customer's best interests.

My house had negative grading, and Joe Pollina proposed a drainage swale supported by 8" timbers to act as a raised foundation around the perimeter of my house. Other contractors proposed french drains, which would not have been a particularly effective or long-lasting solution.

During digging, the team discovered that several inches of dirt had built up above the foundation. They could have cut corners and I would not have discovered it until many years later. But they were honest, showed me the issue, and made it right.

Because of their high quality work and honest way of doing business, I will likely be hiring Tommy Pollina for future landscaping or hardscaping projects.

Joe and his team at Tommy Pollina have done an absolutely incredible job on multiple large projects for us. First to design and install a drainage system in our backyard that hooks into the city's storm drain system which has completely eliminated our yard's horrible flooding problems. Second we had them design & install a brick paver patio spanning the length of an addition we put onto the back of our house. Lastly we had them completely re-grade and re-sod both the backyard and front yard after all that was finished. All massive projects on their own. Joe is a mastermind landscape architect, takes the time to get to know our family and our home, and has the skilled team to carry out the vision from start to finish. Even our neighbors can't compliment us enough on how great it looks! Highly recommend to everyone.

Tommy Polina Landscape did an amazing job on a Paver Patio. I replaced a very old tired deck. The crew that did my job was EXCELLENT!! Everyone in the company is very helpful and good natured. The job was completed in about 5 days. I highly recommend the Tommy Polina Landscaping Company.

We are very happy with the service we have received from Tommy Polina Lanscape co for our snow removal and salting of our driveway and sidewalks. They are very efficient prompt and considerate of our needs during the cold winter months. I highly recommend them for this service.

We used Tommy Pollina for installing better drainage in our yard and his crew did a very good job. From start to finish they worked all day and replanted new grass (seedlings) in areas that were affected. The grass is already growing back.
Tommy Pollina landscaping also trimmed our tall bushes in our yard and they now look much better.
Their crew cleaned up our yard nicely and we would definitely use their services, when needed in the future.

This is our first season using Tommy Polina and overall we have been very pleased with their service. Their workers are respectful, efficient and treat our lawn like it was their own. Like Weds morning, we always forget the night before to remove any kids toys from the yard. Sometimes I try to rush out while they are trying to cut the lawn and throw as many items I can out of the way. MOST weeks, the workers clear everything out for me and stage it nicely to the side. I just really appreciate that level of service. We will definitely renew our contract next season.

P.S. Does anyone want to buy my old lawnmower? :) I won't be using it!

TPLC transformed a 30 plus year dead zone along the side of my house in east Glenview into an attractive landscape while addressing drainage and pitching needs. The staff of workers were diligent and very knowledgeable. Daily check-in visits from Gabby and Joe were most appreciated. We now can enjoy the view outside all the windows on the side of the house! I highly recommend TPLC.

My house needed significant grading work to comply with Cook County requirements to close my construction permit. My civil engineer recommended Tommy Pollina Landscape Company and said they were the only company who could get it done right. I contacted Tommy Pollina and they immediately came to the house to get me an estimate for the work. The job required matching the grading to the approved site design and installing a cleanout on a storm sewer line. It needed to be completed quickly to avoid a lawsuit with Cook County and Tommy Pollina delivered. They were on site as soon as my permit to work was approved. They worked with Cook County inspectors for the plumbing cleanout installation and the grading inspection. All work completed by Tommy Pollina was immediately approved by Cook County and my lawsuit was resolved. I now have my Certificate of Compliance (CoC) from Cook County and I'm very relieved and happy that this whole situation was successfully completed very quickly. Tommy Pollina delivered! They were on time, on budget, and followed the required design perfectly. It's 5 STAR service all around and I would recommend that anybody needing permit compliance and landscaping use Tommy Pollina Landscape Company!

If you are looking for a landscaping company, I would highly recommend Tommy Pollina. Their level of service is top notch - from the quality of work and all the way to management of the job. I truly felt like a valued client (which is hard to come by in this industry). Their pricing was reasonable, too (also hard to come by in this industry). What impressed me most was their level of communication, from start to finish. Keep up the great work to the folks at Tommy Pollina!

Gabby was excellent at interpreting our oblective to level the back lawn, but not change the pitch. When I called her after the job to see the work from my kitchen window, she managed to have the crew back out that day to add more soil to the problem area. The crew were very understanding of my request to line the stopping stones up, and not just re-raise them to the height of the lawn. The grass filled in nicely. The job was more expensive than I thought, and I still had buyer's remorse, but they really did a great job.

From start to finish, Whitney at Tommy Pollina was amazing to work with! She helped us find the best drainage option satisfying our needs as well as our village requirements. Her patience, problem solving and customer service were by far the best. We will definitely be using Tommy Pollina again in the future!

Tommy Polinna was exactly what we needed for our drainage, landscaping and lighting needs. Joe came to our house came up with a solution for our backyard drainage problems that no one else was able to figure out. Next with the designing of our Backyard Trees, lighting And turf. We worked with Whitney at Tommy Pollina for our exterior holiday lighting. She understood our vision for "starry night" look and worked closely with us to ensure we were happy with the final result. Communication was clear throughout the process. We had a small issue with timer settings and Whitney and her crew responded very quickly and helped resolve this.
