I have been shopping this facility for years, have spent thousands over the years, this year was not going to be the exception, but in the time of covid and businesses failing, closing...filing for bankruptcy, I am shocked and appalled that the associate threatened to refuse, a close to $1000 dollar sale, if I did not place face mask over my nose.

I do appreciate fact you care about my health, as well the health of the associates, it is a good business practice, but please be respectful and professional in manner in which you deliver your message, because you were threatening, disrespectful and rude in how you said it, this by the way is not the first time!!

My mistake was giving you permission, one too many times, to disrespect me in the way you did, that I am truly sorry I chose to give you my business, truly unfortunate!!
I thought then, that perhaps requesting to speak to the owner would resolve matter, that he may understand there is a respectful way to ask, treat, and speak to good customers but I was more wrong!!

He in fact was more rude, more condecending, more threatening, more disrespectful, belittling, as he scolded, went on about covid, reiterated cashiers words, and insisted I do not have to buy the plants that someone else will in front of the entire crew, and what an example to set!!!

He is right, I chose to leave without them!!!

Its unfortunate though that the owner of "fasel and son" does not understand the economics of good business practices and how the bottom line directly correlates with good or bad customer service. I hope he doesn't learn to appreciate and be grateful for good business when it is too late, because people have choices!!

In the meantime, you are right, others will come to shop but I have no doubt will realize ,as i have, that when you opt to pay premium prices for merchandise. you expect professional friendly, helpful service, but above all else to be treated with respect!!!!

I do not recommend this business and will never shop there again but I am happy for you, that you can afford to speak and treat clients in such a horrible and disrespectful manner, especially in the time of covid, good job!!!

    RESPONSE TO OWNER:

You are entitled to opinion and perception of the incident! Your employees who know me well, not cashiers, as they have helped countless times over years know that i do not yell!!

It is a shame your recollection of incident is different than how it happened, because as i recall you were one who followed me out the building yelling to get out, after I chose to not proceed with purchase

And out of fairness i was figetting with mask as it was clear to me you were not listening to a word i said!

Its okay Good luck to you too!!

I was just in here about 10 minutes ago, we were checking out at 12:30 on May 26, 2021. Normally I love Fasel's and love shopping here because I love to support small local businesses. However, this last visit really upset me. While we were checking out an older man walked in with a cart full of flowers walking towards the checkout line. One of the cashiers (the one with the brown/dark curly hair) walked out and aggressively shouted at the man that he needed a mask and couldn't come in this part of the store without one. It was so aggressive and so loud that everybody in the checkout section turned to look. The man looked so embarrassed and didn't know what to do. He began to turn around to exit but a few people had started coming in behind him. The employee then told him that if he pulls up his t-shirt over his face, then he could be serviced. That poor man was just yelled at in such an aggressive manner. Honestly if you're going to enforce masks to that extent especially after the governor just changed the mandate; then provide masks for customers who don't have one. If it's something you require, provide one. People are coming to support a local business, they shouldn't get yelled at so aggressively. In all honesty, if I was in that man's shoes I would have left my cart and went to Home Depot or Lowes after being approached in such a horrible manner. Horrible customer service experience, absolutely horrible.

Beautiful flowers and decor but incredibly rude staff and unhelpful customer service. Truly incomprehensible how ignorant the old men and old women who work here are. Will be recommending everyone in the area spend their money at another nursery that is more deserving considering the staff here do not care about their customers or retaining clients.

Been here a few times. However, during my last visit, I personally witnessed a staff member being very rude to a customer over a face mask. Yes, masks are important, but a simple reminder is far more acceptable than aggressively overreacting.

Additionally, customer service, at least in my experience, is nonexistent. Never a kind word or an offer to help from anyone. Totally invisible.

In this time of Covid I can understand how your business wants to protect it's customers and adhere to the mask MANDATE.What I don't understand is how an employee speaks to a customer about said mandate. Yelling at a customer about mask wearing, and yelling to the cashier's that if the customer is not wearing the mask correctly 'dont service them!? Your employees need to learn how to speak to customers in a respectful tone. Yelling out comments behind a customer's back once they have walked away, is not good business, practices, it's actually childish! Another childish move by the employee was to talk about the incident with a customer standing in line, is this how you handle business? Employees involve other customers about things that happen in the store? Just and FYI the mask mandate is a MANDATE NOT A LAW! Have your employees learn the difference. Screaming out that wearing a mask is the LAW, is not True, because it's not! And the women / employee who decided to involve a customer, he then decided to get loud with me because of the employee telling the customer what happened, her lack of judgement is why this man decided to get involved, If she would not have involved people who had nothing to do with what was going on, the Jerk would not have had anything to say to me, and then in the Parking lot Try and attack my mother. Good going Fasel employee! I hope your childish behavior made you feel good. I Know you Don't Care, but we won't be buying from your store anymore. Another review that I read let me know that the owner is just as rude as the employees, so I'm glad I didn't go that route in trying to tell the owner about his rude employees.

There was quite a selection considering the virus going around and the reduced shipments. Lines were clearly marked with easy to read signs and stanchions, everything was well organized and they had cleaning stations set up for carts. Considering the size of the store, there was plenty of staff to help. Only thing I'd say is if there's something you find that you like, get it then because chances are it won't be there the next time you're in.

I have to agree with some of the other reviews about the extremely rude staff at this store. They act like you should personally pay them to be off help. I don't recommend spending your money there. They think they own the street on Keating when they have s designated delivery on 109th Street year round. They obviously have some pull in Oak Lawn village about taking over public streets. I do not see other businesses getting this privilege. Spend your money elsewhere.

This place was great. They have a large selection of high quality plants and decorations. Prices are fair and the workers are all very helpful.

Very bad experience the cashier and the other sales person was very nasty and rude towards me after I showed them proof of how I know a transaction came out and was basically refusing to almost give me a refund even after Showing them that it was a card connected to my Apple Pay. A very kind disposition works every time instead of rude demeanors in helping the general public.

The big box stores have a limited selection. So I used Google to search for nurseries and I picked Fasel because of their location. It was a good choice because they have an extensive selection of annuals and perennials. My wife and I were able to find several plants that we liked. We were also pleased with the politeness and friendliness of our cashier.

This is a wonderful place for gardening and flower planting. The plants are fresh and never neglected. We have been to some major stores in the area for plants and help. The workers here are friendly, hardworking young people who are not hiding but are actually doing the job. Awesome, guys please keep up the good work.

    Great selection. Beautiful flowers
a little price but understandably so being closed or quarantined
For so long we all have to survive
Including me. Even if u just need
A break to stop and smell the 🌹
Roses. Trying times for so many.
and thank you at Fasel and son for letting many enjoy!

First time visiting here! They have a lot of selections. Most importantly, great customer service. All the employees were super nice and helpful. We will be back. Thank you 😊

Very very Friendly! Great selection, clean, and everything is labeled. They will help you choose and plan your garden. They helped load our vehicle as well. Prices are a little higher than others but you get quality plants in return. You get what you pay for. Used they’re warranty on a plant and it was hassle free. Will be stopping in this spring.

Had two trees die over the winter. They refused to help me look up a receipt so that the warranty can be covered. I had the date I purchased the trees. I was told they were too busy to assist me. This is terrible customer service. Everyone was short with me and clearly pawned off the fact that I did not have my receipt as an excuse to not deal with me. I have my own company and we are able to research and find any receipts a customer has. Just pure laziness and terrible customer service. I will never buy there again. Look at my review history, I DO NOT leave bad reviews. I understand great customer service when I see it and I never criticize. This place is the exception.

Fantastic quality of flowers! I am writing this review in early November 2020, and my flowers are still blooming despite plunging temperatures. Hardy, long-lasting, great bloomers. I plan to do all my garden shopping here from now on.
