If you are looking for a place that cares about your gardening success this is the spot!
My husband and I, do not have much experience in gardening and we recently purchased a home that was in great need of curb appeal. We searched for a garden center that could help us with the design and with teaching us a bit on the "how to" properly garden. Fasel and sons came to our rescue Nate helped us out with a great design tailored to our own specific needs - a low maintenance but beautiful designs.
The plant and flower selection here is curated to perfection. The staff is so knowledge and passionate about gardening. Fasel and sons you've won us over.
Thank you for helping us in time of need. -
I showed up at 6:42pm and they had already pulled the gate closed (their store hours are until 7pm). The old man who was guarding the gate told me, "No entry, we're closed". I pointed out I had nearly 20 minutes until closing and I only needed tomato fertilizer. He said it was too far inside the store. I told him I had rushed to make the trip to Fasel & Sons specifically to support that business, but he just refused me entry for a third time. There were still people casually browsing the plant section. I would have been in-and-out before 7pm, while those folks were clearly in no rush. I hate to say it, but I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

I'm in love with this place. I can purchase anything from flowers to herbs from here at a decent price. I usually get a mini rose bush (no more than $10) and keep it at my window as they last longer than roses from the supermarket. I also purchase peppermint, spearmint, and rosemary to get my mini window herb garden going at my dining room window seal in the warmer months. They have a very limited selection of Calatheas so when I do find one here I grab it and ask no questions. The staff is very friendly, sweet and always ready point you in the right direction.

Bought two shrubs that are very hard to find at other garden centers here. They are well stocked during peak season. This is my go to place. The staff are also super friendly. I like how this place has a one year warranty. Although their stuff never seems to fail.

They have a beautiful selection of well-cared for plants and the staff is very knowledgeable. However, their customer service leaves something to be desired. The manager was very rude and short with me and spoke to me like I was an idiot. As much as I love supporting small businesses and love their plants, I don’t know that I will be back. Good plants are important, but so are good humans.

Fasel & Sons Garden Center was one of my go-to places to purchase flowers, shrubs, and even arrangements for gravesites until a very displeasing customer service experience today. During a recent visit, I purchased 4 shrubs and additional flowers to plant in my backyard. The same day that I brought the shrubs home, they all showed signs of deterioration with browning leaves that were beginning to fall off. Thinking that they just needed watering, I watered them multiple times daily in hopes that their condition would improve. I also tried planting 2 in-ground thinking that would help as well. After weeks of care, all 4 shrubs completely dried out and never came back to life.
When I initially made the purchase, the lady at checkout informed me of their Guarantee Program which allows customers to bring shrubs back if they die after purchase. With this in mind, I brought all 4 shrubs back to the store today thinking that I could at least receive a free replacement of a different shrub or a complete refund in accordance with the policy.
I was directed to a man who examined the shrubs and he immediately told me “you didn’t care for them” “you let them dry out and didn’t water them”. I felt insulted as this was completely false (why would I purchase the shrubs for my home and not properly care for them so they can grow and adapt to the environment) and I was baffled by his response and tone which was very rude. After continuing to explain how I cared for them and how they began deteriorating the same day I brought them home, he proceeded to tell me that I could select 4 shrubs to replace the ones that died at 50% credit. Once I chose the ones I liked I went to the register and was disappointed that I had to pay additional money for my replacements.
Looking back, I should’ve just walked out and not purchased anything else because of my poor experience, but from this day forward I will never patronize this business again or recommend to family and friends as I used to. -
Absolutely gorgeous! Big roses and lilies ; perfectly arranged ; so fresh and their fragrance is amazing. I don’t know what time my sisters had it delivered but they were at my front door early in the morning ; they called before and left a message . Very professional!

Customer service? 5 stars. Selection? 5 stars. Quality? 5 stars. Visited on 4-29-22 for the first batch of planting. A little early in the season, so they are still waiting for some stock. But still had a great selection. Plenty of employees to ask any questions. Was asked a couple of times if I needed any help. When I was at my car, someone offered to help me unload my cart - I declined - then he took my empty cart for me. Sure beats the heck out of customer service at the big box stores!

The Racism is real ! The lady with wavy short hair that wears glasses is very rude. Horrible customer service first time going there to buy soil and she made horrible comments about the brand that I use (miracle grow) she came off Racist she was not helpful at all she pointed to things like I was some type of dog . She seemed very irritated when I kept asking her questions. She needs to work on her customer service skills and actually make the customer feel welcome and smile to the customer. will never go back there to buy anything

They had everything I wanted, and, so far, the plants are doing well.

I've visited this store 3 times at this point. Not 1 employee parted their lips to speak, acknowledge or help me either time. Each time they looked up & looked straight at me to then either continue looking at their book or conversing with their friend who was another employee. This has also happened to another friend of mine when she went. I spend hundreds of dollars on plants & plant materials yearly. I have chosen not to spend my money here the last 2 times due to not feeling welcomed. I don't need to return. My friend also chose not to spend her money here due to the same reason.

Stopped today with the wife for house plants. Haven't been in here for years. Mike helped us make some good selections and we really felt good about our selections. Just want to spruce up the house with some greenery. Wife impressed by size of place. Will be our go to place now.

The section was good just the people that work there are not professional no one will help out everyone is to busy and the cashiers try to charge you for extra things I not carefull . Make sure you watch them ring everything. They are the type of owners who will put their thumbs on the scale to make a buck more.

Worst customer service ever. I bought with couple of hundreds worth of plants and flowers including plants pot which turned out to be smaller than what we wanted. I tried to return it and they were rude with me saying it was used. I barely put the flowers in it and I removed it. If you're buy anything from there and you return it you will need to deal with rude customer service

So, I shopped there, yesterday, for the first time. The variety of flowering plants was a welcome surprise; however, customer service has left me not wanting to shop there again. I found a variety of salvia I'd never grown, but the blossoms were wilted. There were no others, so I decided to try to bring them back & purchase them. I asked whether there could be a discount for the flowers that were doing headstands. The manager replied in a rather flippant manner that the green part was still alive, so there is nothing wrong with the plants. They just blossomed already. That was his response. I said, "Ok," out loud, but I'm my head I was imagining punching him in his face for his attitude. I paid the money they requested... Only to discover upon arriving home that one of the 4-cell planters I purchased was missing an entire plant. Not even a spot where one might think someone pulled a plant from the dirt. Although I love my plants, I was offended by the service I received at Fasal & Sons and will N🚫T be returning. I'll spend my money where it's appreciated.

Great garden center will a wide variety of flowers, plants, trees, shrubs, etc. They also carry a lot of garden accessories, which is nice. You can get everything you need for Chicago's very short garden season here. Prices are reasonable as well.

They have high-quality plants and a big store with a variety of supplies. Very helpful and nice staff at the cashier.

My family shopped here 50 years ago and we were always very pleased with the service and selection! Now that I'm landscaping and decorating the outside of my own home - there is no other place that provides such quality plants, expert service and competitive pricing. The cashier staff is amazing - always proficient and friendly. They pack all of your precious plants into easy to transport containers - to ensure that none of the flowers or branches get broken as you bring them home. The nursery staff is SECOND TO NONE - especially Nate - who has provided great advice on what plants work best in your situation - regarding sunlight, etc. I have purchased several shrubs that have grown beautifully over the past few years, along with perennials and annuals that adorn my yard. If you're in search of any assistance with plant suggestions, be sure to visit Fasel and Sons! You'll be hooked!!! THANK YOU!

They have everything for your holiday decor. Halloween, Christmas, 4th of July etc. In the summer I get my strawberries and tomatoes plants here. The staff is very knowledgeable in everything. This is my place of solitude.
