Constraction reviews in Skokie, Illinois

Juan and his team worked on a residential basement project that required excavating for inches of head room. I couldn't be more happy with how helpful he was and how it looks now. He excavated several inches of concrete , backfilled, and poured a new slab quicker than we expected. Additionally, he was very thorough with all paperwork detail and communicating with our contractor along the way. I strongly recommend his work and plan on using him again for any future concrete projects.

They were amazing. Very hard working, skilled and efficient. They did the work quickly and despite the weather. The end result is beautiful. They cleaned up really well and left nothing behind. They even came back to sand an area that one of our residents felt was uneven. We highly recommend them.

Dealt with J Montoya personally on the phone today... Worst experience in the world. He's not a business man and more of someone who doesn't care about anyone else but himself. I emailed and have tried contacting them about one of their trucks not being properly strapped on top, which resulted in rocks flying out. I had a rock hit my BRAND NEW vehicle and put a nasty crack in my windshield. I have pictures of the truck and any other pictures I would properly need for the state police and a lawyer if actually needed. Needless to say, he told me "Go find yourself a lawyer, take me to court and sue me. If you contact me again, my lawyer will sue you". He wasn't competent enough to say it properly but that is what I got out of him.

Now again, I'd have to say that anyone who talks like that, doesn't deserve business because HE DOESN'T CARE. There are many other construction companies who actually care about issues like this and the results they produce.

Basic Review... Don't deal with J Montoya.

J Montoya Construction has done numerous projects for us in our properties. Very professional and explains everything in detail. Will definitely keep working with them in the upcoming future. Very negotiable price, these guys are the best. 5 Stars.

I’ve used J Montoya for a new walkway and outside patio. I couldn’t be happier. They are professional, work product was great? do the work when they say they are going to and the price is fair. My experience with Juan was great. Excellent customer service.

Mr Montoya just finished laying concrete on my backyard and side walk. The quality of their work is exceptional and all of the team member is responsive, and high skilled workers. Mr J thanks for the high quality of works you have done in my property.

J Montoya rebuilt the failing foundations of a rear home addition originally added in the 1930s. Recent rains and vibrations from a nearby construction project finally caused severe cracking of the foundation causing sagging and separation of the addition from the main house. Montoya’s crew was professional, worked quickly excavating, pouring reinforced concrete to create new foundation walls floors, a new slab and adding steel supports. Excellent work and attention to detail followed by thorough clean up. Mr. Montoya provided excellent prompt service and explained every step of their process as well as taking photos to document the work. Would highly recommend this firm.

Wholeheartedly, I recommend this company for any concrete work. Mr Juan Montoya handles the whole project seriously and addresses his work professionally. He acts promptly and listens to the customer’s requests carefully.
Once more thank you for my wonderful patio!

I just used J. Montoya to redo my driveway, fix the walkway to our front door and added concrete to the side of my garage. They were always on time, worked super fast and the everything was perfect. They offer a nice California finish at the end too for a very small fee. My family is very happy we choose J. Montoya and I recommend them to anyone!!

Great to work with, especially given that my project had a lot of unknowns going in. Very clear communication, well organized, and a terrific, very professional crew. I highly recommend and would certainly call them again.

Juan and his team provided an exceptional experience from start to finish for the demo, excavation, and foundation for our new home addition. They were professional, hardworking, and experts in their trade which was displayed day in and day out. I would definitely recommend them - 5 Stars

J Montoya removed deteriorating outdoor basement stairs and wall, replacing all, maintaining integrity of outdoor drain. This was work that needed to be done for many years, but for a variety of reasons never got done. From my first communication to set up the estimate through completion, Juan was prompt, professional and on target. Communication throughout was perfect. Juan’s team were efficient and tidy. All my fears that kept this project from getting done sooner were put to rest. I am no longer fearful to use my back steps to my basement. Next project- replacing my driveway! You can’t go wrong with J Montoya

It has been a great experience working Mr. Montoya on the renovation of our home. He is professional, does great work, and is there when he says he will be. He has gone above and beyond expectations, I wish more contractors had his work ethic.

Juan and his entire team were amazing to work with! They paid attention to every detail and went above and beyond to meet our expectations. We highly recommend them and will use them in the future! Thank you Juan and team!

Montoya Construction replaced our driveway and sidewalk in Niles. They are very hardworking men and their work shows! Our new driveway and sidewalk looks amazing! We could not be happier! I was considering doing an asphalt driveway because I thought concrete would be too expensive. That changed when we called Montoya! Their price was very reasonable and we would recommend them to anyone looking to have concrete work done.

Juan Montoya was a pleasure to work with. He responded quickly to our initial call and whenever we had a question. He thoroughly explained the process and materials that would be used. He and his crew take pride in their work and were meticulous in the installation. We highly recommend J. Montoya Construction Co.

Juan and his team did an amazing job! They installed a concrete patio as well as replaced my sidewalk. He was very informative. He told me what the plan was and he stuck to it. His crew was on time and efficient. I would highly recommend them.

Juan and his team did a great job resurfacing my steps that were ruined by another contractor. The team arrived promptly and provided great quality service. Juan’s customer revive was great and he’s a big company. He clearly isn’t too big to take good care of the small jobs.

Juan Montoya is a very nice professional business man. I'm an 82 year old widow that needed concrete work done. Mr. Montoya looked at the two areas that needed repairs, made suggestions as to how to correct the problems, explained the processes that he recommended and how to proceed. All of his suggestions made much more sense than the other contractors that I had talked to. The end result is a beautiful walk up to my front entrance and a rear driveway that is perfect. In addition his crew was considerate of my dogs and made sure the gates were always closed. They also realigned the rear driveway gates, installed a new drop rod, removed some pavers, leveled the ground and replaced them and adjusted the latch on the gate to the yard that was difficult to open. I highly recommend J Montoya Construction Corp. for quality work and did I mention his price was lower than the other bids. Thank you Juan.

From our initial greeting to the post pour clean-up Juan was there every step of the way. Everything went smoothly and the teamwork within his crew was amazing. They have much pride in their work the final product was immaculate and very detailed. We have already gotten many compliments and it has only been complete for a few days! 10/10 would recommend!

I reached out to Juan Montoya construction because his business was very close to our job site. Juan was absolutely amazing and does everything the right way. There were a few things our architect didn’t call for on the plans, and Juan made sure we added it. Juan knows best. Would highly recommend his company!!!
