My recently installed Radon Mitigation System was completed by Technicians Carlton, David and Matt of Midwest Radon Services and with the results of their work being nothing short of a job well done, they are Highly Recommended!

Did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves and communicated everything I needed to know about the unit and how to monitor it myself with a continuous monitor. Great crew and also one of the better prices I found for the work.

Carlton and David were awesome. They walked through the basics of how the install would go when they got here and noted that I might see some network interference (important for those that work from home!). After the install, Carlton walked me through each aspect of the system to make sure I understood how to use it and made suggestions along the way for how to maintain it.

Really great experience overall and very happy with the work.

Two technicians were informative throughout the process and completed high quality work. I had a new radon remediation system installed with EcoGuard monitoring,
A peace a mind with my high radon count of 21 verse 4.

Worst customer experience I’ve had in years - they will make you pay for their mistakes and blame you for their own miscommunication.

I had Midwest Radon Services install a radon mitigation system at my in-laws' house on May 29th for ~$2000. The good news is that it worked as advertised, according to our radon detector. Everything after that left a bad taste in my mouth.

To begin with, I had explained to the estimator, Mike Torres that we were planning on finishing the basement, which is why we wanted to make sure that the radon levels were safe. We shook hands and scheduled the installation.

Surprisingly, when we visited a few days later, we found that Midwest Radon had installed the pipe directly in front of a basement window well. There was just no way to drywall our way out of it, unless we wanted a soffit that extended past the upper frame of the window.

I called Midwest Radon to see if they could work with us to move it a few inches up. I was dismayed to find that they were going to charge $300+ to move the pipe. I understand needing to pay your people, but many companies are willing to work with us on any errors or tweaks on recent jobs. Midwest Radon was firm on the price.

Technically, we weren’t onsite during the installation, my in-laws were, so I was willing to overlook it. A new estimate was sent over and we sighed and paid the deposit.

We heard nothing for over a week until we suddenly received an email confirming our appointment on a day when we had a serious medical appointment. I emailed Chuck, the owner, about the conflict. Cue email confirming our appointment on another busy day. There was no discussion involved. I emailed again and Chuck told me to call Nicki in order to schedule. That's where it gets extremely bizarre.

I called Nicki, but she was unable to schedule me for some reason and said that she would need to call me back. After we hung up, the original estimator, “Mike” called me, or at least that was the number I had saved in my contacts. He told me that I could just schedule with him and ignore Nicki. Just then, Nicki called back and had to juggle two calls. Nicki again tried to schedule me on the same two days they had suggested earlier. Confused, I switched back to “Mike” to give him an opportunity to explain who I should schedule with.

"Mike" again told me that I should just tell Nicki to hang up and tell her I was talking to him and he could get me scheduled. He also didn’t know who I was or what I wanted. Then made some statements that made me think he was thinking of someone else, like that he was "just at my house this morning" (which I hope he was not). I told him that he was confusing me with someone else and he _repeatedly_ told me that no, in fact, *I* was the one who was confused. I gave him the address and he started to sound doubtful for the first time.

I was getting nowhere with "Mike" who was telling me over and over again that I was wrong so I hung up and tried to call Nicki back again. I explained to Nicki that not only was I displeased with the communication, but my displeasure outweighed my willingness to pay for a mistake that Midwest Radon had made in the first place, so I was going to hold off on scheduling.

Chuck called me and I tried to explain that I had a bad experience with the miscommunication. He kept blaming me for it, saying "that's what happens when you talk to too many people." Then when I said that I had been talking to Mike, he told me I was wrong and that I had been talking to him. He also said that they "dealt with a lot of people." I didn't hear an apology for my experience whatsoever, just that I was being blamed for their inability to communicate with each other. I told him that organization was their responsibility, not mine as a customer and he told me that that was "insulting."

I tried several times to disengage peacefully after repeatedly being told I was in the wrong. He had lost the sale, so why continue to harangue me? I ended up saying "I hear that you deal with a lot of people - you're going to deal with one less" and hung up.

These guys are the best! They patiently explained and coordinated work that required the approval of an owner, HOA and the local building department, which is no easy task! They were always timely in their communication and stuck to the exact schedule, terms and price, that was promised (which is not common among contractors)!

Had a very good experience, from initial inspection to final installation. I think the price was also good. David and Ayden were very helpful. They explained everything, did a good job /w the installation and answered all questions!

I highly recommend Midwest Radon Services. The guys were very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. They were quick to solve any issues during the installation process and communicated with me throughout the entire process. They finished the large job in one day and my radon levels rapidly went down to safe levels. The initial sales professional who provided the estimate stayed in touch throughout the job as well which I really appreciated. Thanks guys!!

David and his team did a great job. He was patient and walked us through all the questions that we had. I highly recommend him.

Easy process for quoting and scheduling - very responsive. The installation team was very fast, thorough and helped me feel confident with the mitigation process. Levels dropped dramatically into the safe range 24hrs after installation.

Carlton and Matt were timely and great communicators. Explained everything well and did all the piping as we went over beforehand. I don’t have new radon results yet, I’ll update my review if the levels don’t drop, otherwise I’m happy with the job!

Midwest Radon did agreat job with our radon mitigation project .
This involved encapsulating our dirt crawl space, which is a very cramped area , and installing a fan plumbed into our two basement slabs and the crawl space.
The crew were very professional , efficient and clean, and the work was wrapped up in one day.
Our radon readings have since dropped from over 8 to anywhere between 1 and 2.
Very satisfied with the job, Thank you. Colin Duff

Midwest Radon Services did a great job installing our radon mitigation system. They were helpful with planning out the layout of the piping that worked with my preference. Professional service with being very affordable. I would recommend them and use them again in the future. Thank you!

They were fantastic. They provided a professional, written estimate very quickly. I had a few questions and they were great getting back to me and answering my questions. The service was scheduled and the technician was great. After the service the technician explained everything to me so I understood what was done and any next steps. I would highly recommend Midwest Radon. Very impressive.

I had a great experience with Midwest. The team was super responsive and easy to work with. They took the time to troubleshoot a tricky, pre-existing radon problem that other companies didn’t have real solutions for and they completely fixed it. My radon levels are basically zero now! Their pricing was very fair too. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone dealing with radon issues.

To be honest I just about picked a different company because i had a hard time connecting with midwest for some post quote questions(the phone numbers were saying no longer in service, etc) and when i finally did I felt the individual on the phone was a bit rude and unprofessional. Very impatient! What kept me with you was Mike Torres. He was very thorough and genuinely patient with me and my wife’s many questions. We have 2 small children and getting the radon readings below 1 was high priority for us. He could not guarantee that but said that he would be surprised if in the end it wasn’t. He also called me back before we committed to Midwest and spent a good 30 minutes going over more questions we had. Mike understood that we expected results for the amount of money a service like this costs. So we paid the deposit. The installers were great! Carlton spent time showing me what they are doing throughout the whole installation. Anyone thinking to hire Midwest radon, be sure to request Carlton! Don’t take no or all our techs are great for an answer. This service is not cheap and if you want professionalism have Carlton do it. In the end, my post remediation radon testing are showing between 0.2 and 0.4!!! Can’t beat that! Oh and cosmetically, it looks great too! Could not have been more happy with Mike Torres and Carlton! You guys are so professional in everything! Thanks!!

Midwest Radon Services did a fantastic job. The system they put in looks fantastic, and works like a charm. My levels ranged from 4 to 10 daily, and now they range from .35 to .80 daily. Big thanks to Mike for the visit and estimate, and Garrett and Matt for the install!

I had a wonderful experience with Midwest Radon Services, thanks fully to Carlton and Matt for handling all the issues the builders left them.

I had to warn Carlton and Matt when they arrived that I suspect there will be many issues that come up during the install based just on my prior projects with the house. Sure enough, the builders didn't leave them enough room in the attic to install the fan on the existing pipe, nor did they leave an electrical outlet nearby. And to top it all off, the builders never even installed the passive Radon System correctly into the foundation! None the less, the guys handled each problem, walking me through what had to be done then explaining any extra cost or impact to the house. I wasn't worried at all throughout the process, as they were being honest and clear with me at each step. I actually felt really bad, because a "simple" job turned into a 7-hour job. Even with all the issues, the total cost of the project fell under the estimates I received from other companies.

Hopefully, I don't have any further issues with Radon, but if I do I'll be going back to Midwest Radon Services for their professionalism, transparency with costs, and service people.

A first class outfit and very good communicators. We started with Nicki, Mike came out to estimate then Adin, David and Ahil did a terrific job of installing the mitigation system explaining everything when finished.
We had some questions a couple weeks after the install and Mike has just been terrific.
Give Midwest a shot….they are wonderful.
    Thank you to all

Our technicians were Carlton, Ahil, and Dave. They arrived on time and were very efficient, professional, and knowledgeable. The team worked seamlessly together and completed the mitigation system installation within the estimated timeline (about 3 hours). They were patient in answering all my questions and explained everything clearly.

The system has been working great! We’ve always used an Airthings radon meter in the basement to monitor levels. On the day of installation, radon measured over 9 pCi/L (it was a cool and wet day in Chicago). Within 24 hours, the level dropped below 1.0 pCi/L, and for the past eight days it has consistently stayed below 1.0 pCi/L- most of the time around 0.5 pCi/L- despite changing weather conditions.

We couldn’t be happier with the installation and how well the fan is performing. Highly recommend Midwest Radon Services to anyone looking for a radon mitigation system at a very reasonable price (we did get multiple quotes before choosing them!).
