As an inexperienced homeowner, I was unaware of the dangers of Radon gas. My house was built in 1986, and we purchased it in 2020. Following the house inspection, we were advised that the house will need a radon mitigating system. I called a company for an estimate, and after inspecting my fully finished basement, the way they described it sounds like it will be really challenging to install the system. Fast forward a few years, and my children started using the basement more often, and I realized something must be done to ensure their safety. One night, I scrolled online and found Midwest Radon Services. I checked their reviews and submitted the online estimate request form.
I was contacted the next morning, and the appointment was scheduled. A very knowledgeable gentleman came, and within 10 minutes, he explained where the system would be installed and how it would function, making it sound very doable. By the end of the day, I received a very reasonable estimate of the price, and the installation date was scheduled for January 26th. That day, the temperature was extremely low, and I would understand if they had called to reschedule, but they did not. That was impressive. Two nice gentlemen showed up right on time, and they were very respectful of my home and very efficient. They cleaned everything up so well after themselves that you would never have guessed they were drilling into solid concrete. They installed the system quite quickly, ensuring it worked, tuned the fan, and explained in detail how it works, what to look for, and who to call if there are any issues. I had a device that's been measuring Radon in my basement for over a year, and the levels never went below 4. Two days followed the installation, and the daily measure is 0.8. The system definitely works quietly but efficiently. I urge people to learn about Radon gas and its dangers, and I definitely recommend this company for mitigation services. They're reliable, efficient, and priced reasonably.

A really great experience working with Midwest Radon-- from our first meeting with Mike, through installation yesterday with Aydin and his great crew. Our level has already dropped --averaging over 10 for the last 6 weeks of testing to almost zero today. Patient, flexible, great clean up, excellent work and communication from start to finish.

I had a passive fan installed yesterday by Carlton, Aydin, and Dave. They were extremely helpful, patient, and knowledgeable.

The 3” radon control pipe was very hard to find in my new home and the team was able to find it and quickly install the fan. They sent me before/after pics and even recommended a personal radon tester from Amazon.

Booking the appointment was very easy. Pricing was fair. I would recommend!

What a great company! Two guys came out, we firmed up the plan, and the radon mitigation unit was installed a few hours later. The guys were organized and cleaned-up after themselves. They were friendly and very professional. (Extra points to Gryffindor!) After they were done with install, they walked me through the unit and what I should expect. They also did an outstanding clean-up. I was highly impressed!

And he took detailed notes regarding my concerns to share with the installers.
The price was very fair as I took multiple quotes from other companies.
Dave, Ahil & Matthew were my installers.
They were courteous, neat, very professional, and good communicators telling me exactly what they were doing. Also, they paid great attention to dust control.
Just an outstanding team, from sales to installation, that I would highly recommend without any hesitation!

Planning and bidding for the job was easy-peasy. On the day of the job the workers showed up when promised. Carlton and Ahil listened to my requests and worked several hours on the job. This was a post-fire build and the installation was inside the walls of the house and snaked up to the roof partially within a soffit. After three hours, they were all packed up, it was dark already, and Carlton took one last look at a pipe and decided it could be better. He and Ahil got their tools out again from the truck and took 2.5 inches off a pipe so that the installation was 90° vertical and looked right. Great attention to detail, and pride in doing a job right. I highly recommend Midwest Radon Services.

Alex was a pleasure to work and the techs are extremely familiar with my building. They were recommended by my condo board.

Company hired to complete a large project replacing two fire hydrants and aux valves. Very professional job on all levels and an overall positive experience in working with this company. The Board of Directors were also complimentary on their workmanship.

The person who took my call was very knowledgeable and nice. He explained how to reset my garbage disposal and it resolved the issue. He saved me money and I'll definitely be calling again if I ever need service. Very good people. Thank you!

DID NOT SHOW UP FOR THE EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT AFTER EXPLAINING THE ESTIMATE. ALSO DID NOT INFORM US THEY WERE NOT COMING UNTIL WE CALLED THEM. GO WITH A DIFFERENT PLUMBING COMPANY.

The management team of the building had approved the water shut-off a week prior. You guys just did not show up without any notice and I told informed Berna Construction that the building has approved the repair. You guys displayed poor professionalism and wasted my time, my money, and also all the other residents' time who were informed that the water was going to be shut off.

Our Lincoln Park Condo building has used Berna Construction / Precision Plumbers for sewers, risers, and other major plumbing projects. They have been very responsive, performed well, their cews are professional, and been a pleasure to work with. So we keep using them. When faced with substantial unforseen changes to the scope of work in the middle of a big project they were very fair in renegtiating the costs on the fly. Highly reccommended.

Berna has been a lifesaver! After several failed attempts to locate leaks Berna was not only able to find the source of the leaks, they had a team right behind the plumbers come in and make any cosmetic repairs. Alexander Torres is wonderful to work with! He’s so organized, intelligent and always responds to calls and emails almost immediately. Arnie is an expert and great to work with as well! I look forward to more projects with Berna Construction!
