My mom shops here all the time, and then I started shopping here when I bought a home I was very disappointed with my experience because I came here looking for a birdbath, and I found one that I loved and that was in my price range and they only had the display and the display was chipped and they were not willing to put in an order. Because they were saying that they had to wait until they had like the minimum to order, but they could’ve easily have placed like the minimum giving me one and then kept the rest at the store if people wanted that birdbath that is how you keep a customer happy. But they obviously don’t want to keep a customer happy. I don’t know if I will be shopping here again

Lovely garden center offering a good range of plants but DO NOT order anything that requires delivery. It's been nearly two weeks since I bought 3 plants -- nothing massive, a small birch, a small sumac and a small maple. Their website claims they deliver in 5-7 days but the person I spoke to over the phone today said that bulkier items take longer. I was not informed of that when I purchased. This is not a detail! As of today there is no date scheduled for delivery of my plants because apparently the owner deliver when he can. Extremely unprofessional for a business like this.

This garden center is awesome. It was my 1st time and I was amazed, its huge. Janice was wonderful taking care of all my needs. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Even though Im shopping late in the season, Im planning on coming back one more time and certainly come back for Spring 2024. Well worth the trip even though I live in the Edgewater area of Chicago. A really nice drive too, the homes and leaf colors. Beautiful.

I just had the best experience with Jennifer Brennan, a horticultural information specialist, at the Chalet. Over the past two years, I began to gather some house plants and succulents in my apartment. I have purchased soil and lovely pots at the Chalet. But, I could tell that my plants needed help. Jennifer looked at photos and was so generous with her time teaching me what I need to do with my succulents, and others, to facilitate their growth. She is so knowledgeable I was amazed at how kind Jennifer was sharing that information with me. Best place to go to grow your plants!

Always fun to shop and browse at Chalet. Today I spent several minutes exploring the custom handmade bird houses in the animal department.

My go to place for perennials and shrubs. A little on the pricey side but really good quality plants.
My only complaint is that sometimes the workers there aren't as friendly and don't offer assistance, especially to newer gardeners. I'm an experienced gardener so I don't really need help, but it would be nice if some one came over and asked if I was doing ok.
But for the most part, the quality and selection of plants is wonderful and they have really good sales especially if you are a garden member.

For gardeners this place is a dream. Great selection of regional plants, shrubs, trees.

My wife loves this store. The staff are always friendly. We come here for our Christmas tree. They have a wide selection of gardening seeds, fertilizers, furniture, fountains, fire pits,and accessories. It is definitely worth the trip. Expect t o pay full price for items this being located on the North Shore.

I love this place, they have such a wide variety of plants and a very friendly staff. I am mostly writing this review to tell about the experience that I had today with Danuta. She was so helpful and you could tell that she loves her job. I am very picky and probably not very pleasant to deal with but she was very patient with me. She was extremely knowledgeable and helped me choose the perfect planter.

We hired Chalet to provide a landscape design for our home.

Maddy was amazing. Her suggestions were ideal.
She paid special attention to detail. The team that came out to plant the flower arrangements were meticulous in their effort all under the watchful eye of Maddy.

Going forward, they will provide annual maintenance to their awesome creation.

In the past year, I bought bunch of plants and other things from Chalet. In May -June this year alone I bought several trees, rose bushes and shrubs. One of the trees I bought in May died and I contacted Chalet and provided several pictures. They responded stating that they could only give me 50% of the tree as credit which I could only use for buying another tree, shrub or bush because I chose to plant it myself. Last weekend, I went to get my replacement plant. I was given a Chalet consultant to help me choose among the eligible plants. There was 20% off sale going on and with that the shrub I chose was coming down to my credit amount. That consultant told me as a result I would be paying for tax only. I grabbed the plant and went to cashier line where I waited about 10 minutes. When my turn came, I was told they could only apply one discount. They were treating the credit for the bad tree as a discount. When I told the cashier that that could not be considered a discount, I was told to go to the customer service which I did. Two customer service representatives there did not know how to process this transaction, therefore they called their manager, Anne, who I spoke earlier and who assigned a consultant to help me pick a replacement plant. They still kept considering the credit I was supposed to have a discount and therefore they didn’t want to give me the 20% off price. At some point, Anne told me she couldn’t give me the plant for free which was not true! I was going to pay for the tax. She told me their software was not designed to give multiple discounts. I demanded to speak someone higher ranking manager than her. She told me it was not possible! I told her we would see about that and I left without getting my credit back.

Among all the stuff I bought, only this tree died. They could easily see that in my transaction history. Yet, they were giving me only 50% of what I paid for the tree because I chose to plant it myself which I don’t remember of being informed about at all at the time of purchase. They were also giving me suggestions about watering and other stuff not knowing that gardening is my passion and my work has a lot to do with growing and caring for plants too.

They have great plant selection. No doubt about that. However, their customer service is absolutely appalling and I would have liked to give a zero, preferably a minus star if could!

There are at least a couple of these stores. This one is the biggest one I'm aware of. They have a lot of variety of merchandise. They also have an enormous number of different plants, shrubs, and trees to choose from. We purchased a maple tree that we had planted in our front yard from them several years ago. They are a step up above the Home Depot type of plants that are super cheap but have a much greater tendency to die.
We've also purchased dog treats from them because they had only one. We're better and eternally speaking than the other products out there.
The downside is that many of their products are pretty expensive.

The best. Staff assistance top notch. Skip Big Box garden sections as they cannot even compete on inventory and selection let alone personalized service.

As a Chalet customer and a professional in the landscape industry, I want to personally thank the entire Chalet team for creating an environment and product line that meets the highest level of quality that a professional expects. I have purchased quality products and green goods over many years and have always been pleased. They employ only the best team members and customer service is paramount! If you want quality and service, Chalet is your place for green industry products and green industry services.

Love Chalet. It’s pricy, but can often find plants I’m looking for that I can’t find elsewhere. They take good care of their plants and many of the staff are very knowledgeable, if you can manage to lasso one of them. They can be VERY busy at times (true of any good garden center). Wish they had a little more room to maneuver among the outdoor plants, but that all said, I’m grateful they have as much as they do for selection.

I can’t wait to see my hibiscus plants blooming every year I purchased from here, beautiful and healthy …no matter how bad our winters hit us.
