I was very impressed with Thomas Jefferson Roofing. They were able to successfully identify the issue I was seeing with my roof and they completed the job in a timely manner. Cody was very helpful and did a great job working with me. I was very impressed with the customer service with this company, as well as the quality of their work.

Ben was a top notch professional. I highly recommend him.

2023 update: Jesse came out today for a special roof inspection. He was here when he said he be here. He coordinated with other professionals. He was thorough and helpful. Once again, Thomas Jefferson did a superb job of taking care of me as a customer.

Thomas Jefferson Roofing was wonderful to work with! The initial inspection was thorough and the estimate was very fair. The installers kept me up to date during the entire job and communication was always excellent! I would highly recommend this company. I called Thomas Jefferson Roofing and Remodeling (TJRR) to give me an estimate on replacing some rotted wood trim pieces on my chimney as well as the Chimney Chase cap and my Chimney Cap...Also to install proper animal protection as I was having issues with birds and squirrels falling down the chimney flue and building nests. I had wrapped some steel wire mesh around it in the interim.

A representative from TJRR came out, took pictures of the rotted wood trim, chimney chase and cap, we discussed what I wanted done. I told him I wanted the replacement to look exactly the same and I wanted proper animal control. He said of course. That my chimney cap was custom and could only be replaced with one just like it..."It will all be done and look just like it is but brand new..." he said and he left.

A week later after asking where my estimate was I was finally given an estimate of $2700.00.

It seemed high for a couple rotted trim pieces, a chimney chase and chimney cap. But my chimney cap is custom and I was told I was getting an EXACT replacement. So I agreed.

I signed the estimate and sent it back...Then NOTHING for 2 weeks. Again...I REACHED OUT...TJRR apologized and said they were sending someone out the next day...2 days went by and someone finally showed up. TJRR called me 15 min before they came to the house. Thankfully I was home that day.

It's then that I found out the guy who did my original estimate and was supposed to do the work quit. So these two new guys came out to "look at the job" again. They hung out on my roof for over an hour jaw-jacking and then left saying they would be back in a couple days to do the work and would call me the day before they came out. I didn't hear from anyone again for another couple weeks.

When they did come out...I had no idea. They just showed up. Luckily my mother was at my home dog sitting as I was out of town for work. They (TJRR) completed the work in a few hours and then called me to inform me they were done and that the chimney cap they planned to use didn't fit so they put the old one back. They also stated that they could knock off $300.00.

Remember I was given an estimate based on an EXACT replacement of the equipment I had. They took pictures of everything that was to be replaced BEFORE the job! So how can they screw it up?

I protested the price. I believed at least $700 should have been taken off the price. Making the total $2000.00. More than reasonable for the work done. They (TJRR) didn't replace the CHIMNEY CAP. They reused the wire mesh that I already had up there that was just a temporary fix and doesn't properly cover the chimney cap. So I don't know how long it will be effective in keeping birds and squirrels out. They just slapped new paint on the OLD CAP without sanding the rust off first! Therefore the paint is already bubbling up. Not to mention the fact that they estimated a CUSTOM CAP price / labor. . .then tried to stick a cheap generic cap up there...Maybe hoping I wouldn't notice??

When it didn't work...they said they could knock off $300... as if they were doing me a favor.

When I protested and laid out my reasons as I have done here... they argued with me about it for 2 weeks. Never addressing the issues I raised, instead making excuses. I have ALL THE EMAILS.

I paid the $2400.00. That's with $300 off for the cheap Chimney cap they were going to try to stick up there to replace my custom cap.

I paid because of a clause in thei estimate agreement that states and I'm paraphrasing: "Any agreement made between a representative of TJRR and customer is not enforceable". I was told VERBALLY I was getting the EXACT replacement of my chase and cap. However it wasn't written that way in the estimate...and I missed it. I believe a man honors his word. My mistake. So shame on me.

In MY OPINION...steer clear of Thomas Jefferson Roofing and Remodeling. IF YOU DON'T...Make sure EVERYTHING you discuss is listed / spelled out in your estimate before you sign it...Otherwise they'll probably try to cut corners. Charge you for X and give you Y.

I was trying to sell my mother's house when the inspection indicated concerns with the roof. A friend recommended I contact Thomas Jefferson Roofing (TJR). I called them Monday morning at 10:30 am. They had a report back to me by 4:00 pm that same day followed by a call.

This was my 2nd or 3rd time using your services and each time was a great experience with quality workmanship. The scheduler was super nice and supportive of my needs. I would recommend TJR to anyone needing roof work performed. I was selling my mother's home and the inspection recommended replacing the roof. TJR inspected the roof the day I first contacted them and had an estimate the following day. Additionally, they were able to tell me when the hail storm... occurred 6-months prior.
They met the insurance inspector on-site and negotiated all the details. I only wish that the insurance company was as responsive as TJR. Regardless, TJR completed the job in 2-1/2 days and helped avoid moving the closing date. Brad and Tim took care of everything and were more patient than I was with the final insurance payment.

Wonderful, thoughtful people who really care.

After hail damage, we shopped around for roof repairs, and Thomas Jefferson was the clear choice. From the start, they treated us with kindness and fairness. They said a repair would be fine and they would be happy to do it. However, they suggested after looking it over that a full replacement would likely be covered by insurance. They didn't try to upsell us or pressure us, just talked it out like you would with a friend. That first conversation was when we were certain this team was right for us!

Every step of the way, Tim and his team helped us figure out the best options. And they worked with our insurance company to make sure we were checking all of the boxes.

I cannot say enough nice things about our experience. Thanks so much for making the process of replacing our roof easier. We felt confident that it would be done right, and it was!

Thomas Jefferson Roofing did a great job for us. For the first time since the house was built the bathroom fans are properly vented out the roof instead of into the attic. They installed drip flashing so now water does not run between the fascia and gutters. They brought the roof up to current code and it looks great! The owners are casual friends of ours and were the first ones we called. They did not disappoint!
