Called this company to check a fuse in my grandmas furnace I couldn't be there and they guaranteed her she needed a new furnace and heat pump costing $13,000. I called another company for a second opinion and it was just the fuse. It cost less than $100 for labor and the fuse. Please do not use this company. Very dishonest.

Excellent crew. Mathew and Tony great to work with. Others great too but didn’t get to know them on first name basis.

Over-charged the parts by 300%. Did not perform services requested IE, flush system and remove air. When I questioned them on the invoice they said they would have to talk with "Tim" and get back to me. Spoke with Tim multiple times and he said he would have to speak with the owner and get back to me. They went ahead and charged my credit card before ever getting back to me. I only used them because the previous owner had a folder full of past invoices for work and parts that all seemed very reasonable. Unfortunately they must have changed practices.

I bought a house in December. I knew going in there were several things that needed repaired before I made the purchase - water pressure, Furnace/AC, crawl space, roof vents, etc. And, I put back money to budget for the repairs.

I knew there were issues with the airflow from the furnace and AC when I bought the place. I couldn't get any other company to come look at the issues but Excel seemed willing to come out. I was treated good on the phone and the tech was polite but I could tell was in a hurry. I had 3 issues I wanted addressed and explained these to the guy who took my call and the tech when he showed up. First off the airflow coming out of the vents is minimal at best and one vent has zero air flow. Second, the AC doesn't keep up. Day 1 It was 85 degrees outside and 77 in my house all day. The AC never shut off. 1000 sq foot home should have no issue cooling down to 72 degrees with central air. The third issue is the condensation empties right into my crawl space, plus the condensation doesn't flow out of the tube. It is dripping out of a corner of the duct work.

So the tech does some testing and determines I am low of refrigerant and so he added some and was ready to leave. I asked about the air flow. He went around the vents and told me it was fine. It is not fine. I asked about the condensation tube and I was told he blew it out and it should be working now. I told him that wasn't the issue, that no water ever flowed out of it. He said he could use a scope camera to see what the issue was and I told him please do that. We discovered my drain pan was rusted away. OK I saw that, but I still have 5 gallons of condensation a day dripping in my newly cleaned and dried crawl space. He suggested I get a pump and pump the water into the sewer pipe or outside. Yes I agree, that's why I called an AC company - because that's what they do. Again I could tell he was in a hurry and left after I paid $430 for refrigerant and labor. The drip was the main reason I called in the first place and that issue did not get resolved. The system wasn't even checked for leaks and the air flow (fan, ducts) never got any attention at all. 2 days later its 88 degrees outside and my house is 78 all day. I bought my own condensate pump, funnel and PVC pipe and installed it. I fixed the dripping in the crawl space myself.

I spent $430 for nothing. It's really getting old paying for services that do not address the issue and then being charged when no difference is made.

We have dealt with Excel HVAC for over 15 years. Our house was completely renovated in 2002. New HVAC Carrier system including all new ducts in attic installed by home contractor. Contractor recommended Excel for yearly maintenance contract. OK we did that.

We had an inducer and thermostat replaced under warranty. Excel installed a new blower that was 10 yrs old.

Excel, although located in Greenwood, has always serviced our HVAC system timely. When the inducer, thermostat & blower went out (twice in dead of winter), Excel came out within 24 hours and fixed the problem.

We have highly recommended Excel to our family and friends.

Our son Brent has 2 rentals (1940 Broad Ripple & 1990's Geist Condo) that Excel has also maintained with exceptional service.

Excel Heating & Air is approximately named, Excellant service! Our A/C went out on a Friday at 5pm. Larry’s response time was less than 45 mins and only took 5 mins to diagnose the problem. I have used Excels service multiple times and they excel in exceeding expectations every time. Larry and his team treat you like family, highly recommend Excel for heating and air issues. Professional, fair priced, quick response and family oriented!!!

It’s always nice to find local and honest tradesmen and from my experience these guys are top notch. Quick service had my AC back up and running perfect in no time.
I’ve found many larger repair chains are salesmen first and technicians second. I have an older system and I’m certain other companies would’ve tried to get me to put in a completely new system when not necessary.
Now when it’s actually time to replace my HVAC system I know who I can trust to do the job right.

We bought our condo several years ago, the previous owner had recently installed new heat and AC from Excel. We feel very fortunate they chose Excel. We have had fall service on the heat and spring service on the AC every year since. They always show up when they say they will and are very efficient with their servicing. We are very happy customers.

I had a problem with my furnace and called this Excel. After giving us a very reasonable quote on a furnace replacement instead of a repair on my unit that was 20 years old, I decided to go ahead with the quote. My new furnace has no problems whatsoever and it runs smoothly without any noise. I will definitely continue you to use them in the future.

Technician arrived on time for an AC issue. Explained the issue and my options. Even looked at a related electrical concern I had, at no additional charge. Took time to go over a prior system replacement quote with pros & cons of different options (both technology and price points). Austin went above and beyond the service call request.

Their tech arrived on time he said he would and fixed my heater at a very fair price back in January but i recently had them come out and do a maintenance and they were excellent. The service from Excel Heating & Air Conditioning was amazing and the gentleman was very nice. Thank you for fixing my air conditioner/heater for me.

We live at Cordry Sweetwater Lakes and have been a very satisfied customer of Excel Heating & Air Conditioning for over 15 years. We have had a yearly service contract with them getting professional and quality maintenance in the Fall and Spring each year. On the rare occasion we have an issue outside of the maintenance, they have always worked us into a short term schedule to address our needs with our dual heat (propane and electric) and air conditioning system.
During our last scheduled maintenance there was an issue identified with our heat exchanger and the propane that could have been a serious issue for us if not identified. Their team mitigated the immediate risk with the heat exchanger and propane which allowed us to be able to continue to safely use our system on full electric in the short term. We had a new heating system professionally installed yesterday within a week yesterday. We have great confidence in the full Excel team and are very grateful we began using their service 15+ years ago. They are definitely a customer first company.
