We hired two home inspection companies and separate electrical and plumbing inspections when we bought our home. Joe Schmo found all electrical issues the home inspectors found plus an item. Later we had them replace our electrical panel. They installed installed the same brand (Siemens), but did it for significantly less, and they did a quality job as far as I can tell. Make sure to include them when gathering estimates for your next electrical project.

PRICE GOUGING - BEWARE:

We picked this company to do a simple repair based on their reviews (which I'm sure are fake at this point). They demanded that we pay $200 for a simple 10 minute repair at a property.

We called them and said - "We'd like to discuss this invoice. It was our understanding that the $99 fee was the minimum and would be used to cover the repair."

This was a 15 minute repair and a $10 part. Look at the average cost for a single circuit repair on google. $150 is actually very high for this and that 's what I offered as a concession.

They would not accept $150 and they were very condescending and rude. Even though according to all research, that is a high price to pay for a single circuit breaker replacement.

I would strongly recommend that looking elsewhere for any electrical services.

From the moment the phone is answered by the amazing front staff to the end of service, Joe Schmo is an absolute pleasure to work with. They were kind, professional and efficient. I was in desperate need of some additional outlets added to my garage to make it more functional for myself and my family and Joe Schmo was on it! I called to have someone come out and quote it for me to be done and they came right over the next day with a very reasonable quote. They had me scheduled right away and got us all taken care of. I had the outlets marked about where I wanted them and they didn’t blink an eye and got it done! Thank you Joe Schmo.

As a general contractor I deal with dozens of sub contractors. Joe Schmo is one of the few I don't have to worry about and babysit every step of the way. They know what they are doing, offer suggestions to make things better, are always on time and do an overall great job. I highly recommend them for any or all of your electrical needs.

If you need a knowledgeable, reliable electrician and want to know the job is done right - this is who you call!

1) They gave me multiple FREE inspections and estimates on homes for which I had a purchase agreement. Each was customized to the circumstances. I never got the sense that I received a "standard" quote and the inspections were always thorough and explained in depth.

2) They know their business. They know Codes and they know which codes are safety issues.

3) They show up on time, every time.

4) They keep you informed

5) They are flexible. When my large project required multiple changes at the 9th hour, they walked through everything with me and took time to understand the scope of work.

6) They made relevant recommendations and suggestions. They thought about things I had not considered, such as the simple need for an outlet in a bathroom that I had not noticed was missing or how one might naturally move through a house and where a switch for a fan vs. light may be helpful.

7) They alerted me to potential problems I might face with their work; e.g. plaster walls sometimes crumble when disturbed for electrical work.

8) They asked my preferences; minimal drywall damage vs. moving fixtures to ensure they align.

9) They accurately predicted the time to complete the work and finished on time.

10) They were careful to secure my home when they left each day

11) They cleaned up when the work was complete. I found no indication that there was any debris left in the attic or basement.

All in all, if you want a job done right - pay the pros. Joe Schmo are professionals.

I have used their services twice on a fixer upper house. The technician's have been professional and efficient. They also have a great office staff that communicates and follows up after the projects to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction. Top notch company!

We had a few electrical projects around the house that needed to be done including: Light fixture installations (Can lighting, ceiling fan, chandelier and a couple flush fixtures) a few switches, and even a pool light that needed to be re-wired. Erich and Eli showed up on time, were professional and did a great job at a very reasonable price!! We will definitely be using them again for any future work and highly recommend them! They're local, small, honest, fair and do good work!

We hired them over the summer to fix an issue with the electrical panel at our old house so we could sell it and hired them again recently when dealing with an issue at our new house. They were friendly, respectful, and diligent. Their prices were reasonable. Overall, they were very pleasant to work with and did a great job.

I recently had Joe Schmo come out and install two fans on my porch for what was a fair price. When I returned home and saw how it was done, I realized there had been some misunderstanding as to how the electric was to have been installed (on both sides). I expressed my dissatisfaction and they came out and redid the work with little trouble. I appreciate their dedication to my overall satisfaction and their continued professionalism through the misunderstanding.

They came out to give me an estimate to upgrade my service on an older home. They asked about my overall plan for the place. Once I told them what my plans were they advised that I really did not need to upgrade. You can not get honesty like this very often. We had some security and landscaping lighting installed as well as some modifications to some electrical outlets. They were professional from the first call to to completion. They communicated effectively regarding pricing and scheduling as well as on site when they came to do the work. Very professional and a delight to work with. I highly recommend them and I will definitely use them again.

They did an absolutely Sensational job repairing a couple of outlets I had came out quickly and gave free estimate and repaired same day for a very fair price. Had an amazing interaction with Hillary and a tech trying to figure out some wiring on a new home purchase. They were very quick to respond about my issue and even tried to squeeze me in when they had other bigger issues going on. They took my concerns seriously and went completely above and beyond.

Did not use their services. Took a week to get someone to come out. The only positive is the electrician showed up on time. However, the Electrician couldn't figure out how to fix the problem. He told me he would talk with his boss, figure it out and email me a quote that night, worse case next day. Other. than him not knowing what he was doing, nice guy. Almost a week later they emailed me an estimate 3.5 times what other companies estimated. Plenty of other great electricians out there, don't go here.

I’ve never used this company for electrical services. However, I did need over in traffic as the right lane was ending (in an area of town I wasn’t familiar with) Turn single on and moving slow to wait for a spot. The person behind me just happen to be driving one of these trucks. Not only did this person LAY on the horn and stay there…. Scaring my small child. But this person also tailgated me for well over a mile, finally turning left on Binford, but not before more honking and aggressive driving. Imagine allowing this person in your home? I can absolutely promise the general contractor I work for as well as my friends and family will never be doing business with a company that would employ someone with those kinds of anger issues.

We had a unique situation arise when Joe Schmo replaced our electrical panel recently. After the technician completed the work, the proper protocols were followed to have the city inspect the job and let the power company know to restore power. Well, somehow the power company managed to “misplace” the city inspectors approval and refused to turn our power back on. It was now after business hours, with temps in the 20’s (no heat), and two babies at home. Rachelle at the Joe Schmo office spent over an hour on the phone with the power company (well after hours!!) until she got a supervisor to finally authorize restoring our power. I was completely blown away by the way Joe Schmo stood by this job (past completion) even though they were in no way at fault for this incident. Not to mention the panel replacement was affordable, done well (+everything is labeled perfectly, yes!!), and the technicians were extremely professional and courteous. I recommend this company to anyone needing electrical work done & will certainly be using them again in the future.
