After thawing out from the sub zero freeze before Christmas, we noticed some water damage in the corner of our walls/ceiling in our first floor bedroom. Called Holmes Construction & Roofing to come inspect the roof thinking we had a flashing issue. Turned out we had some wood rot holes in our trim. A few hundred bucks later they sealed the holes same day. We just had some rain yesterday, and of course we were on pins and needles seeing if any more water came through. Our bedroom ceiling and walls were dry! Thank you Holmes Construction & Roofing for your honest work!

Ed is a perfectionist. He takes great pride in taking care of the details that other contractors don't take the time to do. I would reccommend Holmes Roofing for all types of jobs. I've never seen anyone who could ever keep up with his physical ability, & work ethic. He is SUPER HUMANE. I am very happy with his work.

Holmes roofing has put a roof on almost every house that I have owned. They have done roofs and different work for many of my family members and close friends. Ed is efficient and gets the job done. He doesn’t sell me anything I don’t need. He makes me feel like my job is always number 1!!! Thanks Ed!

Edwin Holmes was unbelievable to work with. His work and work ethics were off the chart. Both the shingles and the decking on our roof needed replacing, a very labor intensive job. Edwin who is the owner,
was on the job everyday. He explained everything that needed to be done including the relocation of the vents. Whenever he found something that wasn’t correct, he repaired or replaced it at no additional cost. Every night when they were finished they cleaned up any trash and debris they found in the yard. The night the tornado hit Mooresville, and we also experienced high winds, within a few minutes after the storm passed through, Edwin and one of his workers were up on our roof checking to make sure all the protective measures they had taken were still in place and there were no leaks. I am not a roofer, but have been involved in construction for over 20 years and Edwin Holmes Roofing exceeded all my expectations, both in their workmanship and the quality of the materials they used.

The last two companies I worked with were very bad, what a relief to work with such a good company. Edwin was great, very helpful and did fantastic work at a fair price. I will never worry again about who to call when I need help around my home. / Just want to update this posting, Just because Ed's done with your project and has moved on, he still thinks about providing you with the best customer service. Weeks after the job was completed I came home to find a box he had left at my door with Splash Blocks to put at the bottom of each downspout. I did not ask for them, he just knew I could use them, he's the best...

First I would like to say I met this wonderful man by chance. Since we met Edwin has replaced one of the roofs on 1 of my houses. After I seen that this man was unlike other contractors I have encountered in my very experience life . The new roof that he installed was a fantastic , he bettered the cosmetic appearance as well as installing a beautiful quality product. Since , I have had Edwin install gutters , remodel one of my bathrooms completely. I am very happy with all the work from the beginning to the end. Very soon I am looking forward to EDWIN HOLMES adding additional rooms to one of my existing homes. Hoping to get this project underway ASAP! This man can do anything perfect ! I’m very pleased I am content with all the work performed so far, and would have no reason to ever consult with anyone else!

Edwin was recommended to us by our neighbor that was very pleased with the job Edwin and his team did replacing his roof. Edwin and his team replaced our roof and gutters. Everything went smoothly and we are also very pleased with the final result.

Edwin did an excellent job with our 19 year old roof. His attention to every detail was amazing. He didn’t just slap the roof on and leave, he noticed several structural issues, fixed them along the way and recommended bronze gutters that really made our house pop. He did fantastic work! His knowledge and experience shine through, HIGHLY recommend!

Holmes Roofing did a great job when we needed a new roof. They were quick and responsive. Had to have all new decking along with shingles and gutters. They were able to start the same week as the quote. If you are looking for a new roof, you couldn't do any better. They even came a did a thorough cleaning of the yard afterwards.

Ed was fast to get back to us, kept us up to date on his work schedule, gave accurate quotes, and completed the work in a timely fashion. I had full confidence that Ed would do the best work and fixes as if it were his own home. Very happy, confident that the roof, gutters and paint will last and look great in the years to come because of Ed’s professionalism, use of high quality materials, and caring workmanship.

Edwin Holmes Construction completed major chimney repairs and replaced my entire roof including decking over a four day period in mid Sept 2023. I was referred to Ed Holmes by a prior work associate who had work performed by Ed several years age. I had no other knowledge or association with Ed Holmes prior.
I could not be more fortunate in my choice of contractor. I have seldom seen such attention to detail as shown by Ed and his crew for both projects. Work begun on the dates scheduled. Materials were on hand and all advanced preparations made. Chimney work exceeded my expectations due to the care and workmanship shown. Replacing the chimney cap, repairing all damaged brick and mortar joints and applying two coats of sealant was 1/2 the cost of the highest bid and $1,500 less than the second highest. I don't think that I would have received anywhere the caliber of work from the other bidders.
Roofing work began at 6:30 AM and continued to 8:00 PM the first day by Ed and his crew on Sept 18th and continued to 8:00 PM. I have never seen a crew work harder. Their coordination was evident. Ed worked along side the crew the entire time. It was amazing the amount of extra repairs Ed provided. If he saw something that needed fixing, roof related or not, he took care of it including laying a partial floor in my attic, adding new bracing to my ridge line, repairing and rehanging two soffits and tightening all my gutters just to mention a few. Day 2 began at 7:30 Am and continued to 2:30 PM. Ed worked with his crew both days and labored as hard as any of his workman. Day 3, Ed returned for another 2 hours by himself for final inspection and completion of 4 addition items. Ed is a fanatic for cleanup. I can't describe the amount of time and effort Ed took to assure cleanup and carry away of all debris including my old TV antenna which Ed took down from my house.
I received maximum value for the monies paid, quality materials, attention to detail, superior workmanship, and work performed far outside of the scope of work provided for in the contract. I though afterward that I couldn't think of anything else to ask Ed to do that he had not already done including bleaching out a water stain on our bedroom ceiling so we would not have to repaint.
Edwin Holmes Construction has my unqualified recommendation and I can attest that any homeowner who contracts with Ed will be amazed at the completeness and quality of the work that Ed performs. Ed Holmes is my go to company for any home repair project.

Edwin Holmes Roofing installed the original roof on my house when built in 2002. After a storm in April of 2020 I called Edwin Holmes to inspect. Edwin worked diligently with my insurance company to ensure that they covered their responsibility. He came 3 times as my insurance company dropped the ball twice with claims adjusters. Without Edwin's persistence, I don't believe they would have covered what they did! The work itself took two days and I can't say enough about their performance. The roof looks great, the new gutters were installed on day 2 and everything is perfect. The crew was meticulous in their clean up at the end of day 1 and at the end of the job. Edwin, himself came and re-checked my yard for nails and debris. He looked up and saw a piece of our siding was not right, got his ladder and went up and fixed it--it had nothing to do with what they had done. I wish all contractors were as good to work with as they were. The coordination, performance, and communication was top notch and I will look nowhere else for any roofing needs in the future.

I contacted Edwin after we received a card in the mail for a free inspection and he was out a few days later. He did a thorough inspection on our house and prepared an estimate that same day. On the day the adjuster came out, Edwin came as well. This was helpful as he was able to show and discuss the damages he saw with the adjuster. Edwin and his crew were out the next day to repair the roof. They were quick workers and Edwin came back after the job to ensure that everything was cleaned up. He even did addition cleanup in our yard and trimmed our trees. Our yard looked better after he came than it did before. We would recommend him to anyone else in need of roof repairs in the future.

First, I would like to say, EDWIN HOLMES, & all his employees are very hard workers. I am very pleased with all the work done on my home, it was done in timely manner, and the workmanship was excellent. Six years ago I had Amos roofing do my house and it did not look as nice as it does now. Also, the reason why I hired EDWIN HOLMES is because , I had a roof leak, and Amos roofing would not respond after many calls, and then, when they finally did, they said it would be six weeks or more before they can come out and take a look. When I called EDWIN HOLMES, the owner of HOLMES, construction & roofing, Edwin Holmes the owner himself, came out within 3 hours, & fixed the leak! That service‼️
When I found out, I had hail damage I called EDWIN HOLMES immediately! Now I am so happy with my new roof and gutters. The cleanup was impeccable ! I know I won’t have to worry about my roof ever again! Anyone who would hire anyone else would be a fool!

We contacted Edwin Holmes Construction Solutions via a card he sent through the mail. We were interested in having gutter covers installed. We contacted him on Friday and he did the work today, on Monday. Quote estimate was reasonable compared to another quote we received. But Ed went over and above the gutter cover job. He did a roof inspection that pointed out several small roof repairs that he took care of for a minimal fee. He is very meticulous about his work and asks other professionals their opinion when it is necessary to do the job correctly. Great guy who does great work! We highly recommend him! He’s a roofing expert!
