Avoid! Had them clean and inspect my gas fireplace. Found that the pilot assembly needed to be replaced and had to order the part. So the tech said he would paint the box after he replaced the pilot. They wanted to charge me $425 to replace an $80 part. So I had someone else do it at a much lower cost. Then they wouldn't come out to paint my fireplace box because they didn't install the part even though I paid them for the service. Very poor way to run a business...get your money then they run. Don't use these guys!

The people at River City Chimney & Hearth are excellent. They know what they are talking about and have always been very responsive not only for me personally but also my business. Couldn't be happier with their service, professional approach, and willingness to go out of their way when they don't have to. I don't hesitate recommending them when I'm asked about fireplace issues, chimneys, or smoker grilles. Good group of people and I am appreciative of their work. Cheers!

A couple of years ago, I asked them to come out to fix our gas fireplace. Instead they charged me hundreds of dollars to clean it (which I didn't ask for - I can do that myself). I was angry about that and declined for them to come back with a part for another expensive visit.
After seeing so many positive reviews, I felt that maybe that was just a one-off bad experience, so I decided to call them again and give them another chance to repair it in early December. They said they had to special-order the part, so they got back to me over a month later to set up the appointment. So I agreed to that delay. So today, THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT, the guy calls me and cancels the appointment because he doesn't like the review I gave him two years ago.
He doesn't 'seem to understand that reviews are how customers hold businesses accountable.

I can't even begin to tell you guys how impressed we are with the all around quality of the service that you have given us. From the first visit that James made to explain that you could certainly replace our inadequate gas fireplace with a beautiful new high functioning model. We then visited the showroom where we choose the model that James recommended. We were given a price and a date and all was compatible. What really impressed was the timing. I had planned for my area to be out of commission for at least five days, from tear out to completion. What a pleasant surprise to be sitting in front of our beautiful new working fireplace in less than three full days.
When I awoke this am and the temperature was 59 degrees in house, I turned on the smart fireplace and was at 67 degrees within an hour. Bring on winter!
James was "THE BEST", so professional and competent. With Josh at his side they left the work sight immaculate. We have dealt with builders and other service so called professionals and you guys put them all to shame. We love you guys! You are truly THE BEST. I will spread your name to all who will listen. Dustin was great. Very knowledgeable and described in detail everything he had worked on and what we needed to do for maintenance. I have two little kids at home and he was very friendly to them. We will definitely be calling them for any other fireplace repairs!

Dustin arrived and was very professional and friendly, was careful to place protective drapes and explained what he was doing. Dustin reviewed all facets of checklist and showed me some features on my remote I was not aware were there! I now have a pilot on, ambience nightlight and feel comfortable with settings. Great guy!

We had our gas fireplace serviced by River City and they did an amazing job!! They inspected it, cleaned it, made sure it was set up correctly (which it hadn't been) and gave recommendations on how to properly and safely enjoy it. So grateful to River City Chimney for coming to clean our chimney! We were in the middle of a fireplace remodel and learned last minute that we had to get our chimney cleaned (small miscommunication from the folks remodeling our fireplace) - River City came to the rescue despite the short notice! They were responsive, got back to us quickly, and gave us a few options on timing so we could pick something that worked with our schedule. They did excellent work and after they were done our home was spotless, you would never have known they were even there except that a decade's worth of creosote was gone. River city came to sweep and camera my chimney. They were on time and I received a text reminder and call before they came to my house. They worked quickly and were very clean. They used a large shop vac while performing the sweep to keep the shoot out of our house. They explained everything I needed to know very simply and provided an electronic report with pictures and details of their findings. Very knowledgeable guys and also very professional. Would recommend their service!

I recently hired River City Chimney & Hearth to inspect and service the fireplace in my home. They were friendly and professional from the first call until the service was completed. They were extremely efficient and I could hardly tell they had been there when I got home, they did such a great job of cleaning up after themselves. I also had them work on my Green Mountain Grill that I was having trouble with. Dustin did a great job diagnosing and fixing the problem and was extremely helpful.
