Constraction reviews in Des Moines, Iowa

Appreciated the quick response in both getting us an estimate on our patio and fireplace project and getting the work completed. The photos speak for themselves. Very professional and courteous. Will definitely contact Edgar for any future repairs or projects!

We hired Edgar and the Select Team to build out our escape room business. They were easy to work with, responded quickly to changes and were excellent at communicating. They handled everything from drywall to flooring to ceiling grid, electrical, clear coating and so much more. I would definitely do business with them again.

We had Select Construction work on a number of projects the last two years. They put in wood and tile floors through out the house, put in a new bathroom, finished 2 rooms & hallway in our basement, put new siding outside the house, 4 new windows, built a 2 room art studio for me and a new patio concrete slab. It was a joy having them work on these project! Everything was done professionally and very detailed work! They listen to our needs and made it all work! For future projects I would have them work for us again. Having a studio to work in was a dream come true! They greatly improved our home and my art production!

We recently hired this company for a full bathroom remodel, tile work, and a few additions to our home, and the entire experience exceeded every expectation. From the very first selection meeting, it was clear we were working with a team that is passionate about design, quality, and doing things the right way.

The bathroom transformation was incredible. Their tile work is some of the best craftsmanship I’ve seen—clean lines, perfect layout, and attention to detail that truly sets them apart. They walked us through every material choice, explained the pros and cons, and made sure the final design matched both our style and the functionality we needed.

We also added an all-seasons room (and considered a 3-seasons room), and the quality of construction is outstanding. The space feels solid, comfortable, and beautifully integrated into the rest of the home. You can tell they take pride in their work.

One thing that really stood out was the experience of having their workers in our home. Every crew member was respectful, professional, and incredibly clean. They protected our floors, cleaned up daily, and kept the work areas organized. It made the entire process so much easier on our family.

The timeline was communicated clearly from the start, and they stayed on schedule—even with a few unexpected discoveries behind the walls. Customer service was excellent throughout. We always felt informed, supported, and heard. Any questions we had were answered quickly and thoroughly.

If you’re looking for a construction company that blends craftsmanship, design expertise, professionalism, and genuine care for their clients, this is the team you want. We couldn’t be happier with the results and will absolutely use them again for future projects.

We hired Select Construction for our bathroom, hallway, and staircase remodel recently. I’m including both the before and after pictures and these don’t even do it justice. It’s like a completely different house. We are incredibly happy with the end result.

First, the bathroom. Edgar and his crews worked fast but didn’t cut corners. They helped me make decisions based on what I was looking for, our intended budget, and what they felt would work best for the space (like moving the toilet to the other side of the room to make space for a glass shower door). The tile work and everything else was just so amazing by the end.

And for the stairway and hallway, we were equally happy with the end result. Edgar suggested converting the attic door into a built-in bookshelf and we’re glad we decided to do that. It looks so nice, and gives us a little more storage space in our tiny house. The banister might be my favorite part — they did such a great job with that. And of course the mud, drywall, and paint jobs were great as well. And the new carpet is the cherry on top.

Edgar was always very responsive and easy to reach, from the very first phone call to set up the quote, all the way through the end of the project and keeping me posted about the shower door installation. Whenever we requested a change or an add-on, Edgar was quick to provide us with an updated quote and was really transparent about everything. There were no surprise extra fees, and the pricing for the project was very reasonable given the quality of the work.

Edgar’s crews were so great the entire time. I don’t remember all the names but there was a second Edgar, Alex, Alex, Chris, and a few others whose names I’ve forgotten. They were all experts in their specific skills and we were really impressed.

Side note: our old water heater happened to go out during the three weeks that this project was happening, and Edgar even helped set us up with his plumber contact to install the new water heater. We were so appreciative of that extra touch.

I only wish we had the budget to have Select Construction and Remodeling do more work on our house right now but we know who we’re reaching out to whenever we’re ready to remodel any other parts of the house in the future.

Edgar and his team at Select Construction were outstanding to work with from start to finish. If you're looking for a contractor you can truly trust, I highly recommend them. Their crew was professional, responsible, and respectful of our home throughout the entire project.

What really stood out was Edgar’s reliability and communication. We were working under a very tight timeline, and he delivered exactly as promised without cutting corners. The project ran smoothly, there were no surprises, and the quality of the work was excellent.

In an industry where delays and miscommunication are common, Edgar and Select Construction were a breath of fresh air. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again and highly recommend them to anyone planning work on their home.

I heard from many that you are a great company

If you need A+ team company, this is who you call. Mr. Gates helpped with tons of projects and always happy with the end results

C Green Contractor just replaced our front walk way from the driveway to the porch, including the front step. They did a very quick, professional job and the end result is significantly better than the 20-year-old original. It was also nice that C Green agreed to do a smaller job - not a lot of concrete places will do one-off jobs like this anymore. I will definitely use C Green again in the future when the time comes.

I hired C Green Contractor to do a specialty concrete pour... Filling in a portion of sidewalk at a new grade, adding a step up to the patio and pouring a 55' x 1' base for a decorative fence.

From start to finish Chris' crew showed up on time, got right to work and completed the job quickly.

They earned my Five Star rating.

Quality Construction and Storage! Excellent heated storage!! Pete is spectacular.

A brand new, beautiful, immaculate storage facility! The property was ultra secure and easy to get in/out of with large equipment. Kristy was a pleasure to work with!

Alex and his team did an amazing job on our kitchen! I couldn't have been more pleased. They are one stop shop for construction, counters, plumbing, electrical, flooring, counters and design.
