Water Damage Restoration reviews in Grimes, Iowa

We had Servpro come help dry out our basement when we found water in March of 2021. They were very responsive when it came to drying out the basement. They were there within an hour of calling. They said the repair would just need new carpet pads, new baseboards, and maybe new doors. This repair took then until July 2021 to finish. I was not happy with the work they originally did so they tried to fix. Even the final project still had gaps in the baseboards (you can see the picture attached). I felt that the people we dealt with were very rude when we told them we would like it redone and they felt their work was acceptable. I would not recommend them to anyone because after $7000+ this is what my baseboards still look like.

We had just moved into our dream home a week prior. The wash leaked and we had major water damage to our new home. Servpro came in and made it all better. The team was professional and super polite. They melted us well informed about what was going on and what to expect. We were so stressed. They made that go away along with the water. Amazing team of professionals. Thanks guys! The Taylor’s.

This company is THE BEST! We had water come thru our kitchen ceiling onto our cabinets and wood floors. Andrew Peters came in and dried everything up, and Nate and Jayden did a great job diagnosing and removing the moisture. They were on time every day and cleaned up after themselves. I hope we never have water damage again but if we do I will call them!

They have been great; very friendly and have explained everything clearly to us and answered all of our questions. They have also been very attentive to the work being done. Great job. Our dog Wilson is going to miss them.

This past week my family had a water incident that caused damage in multiple rooms and both floors of our home. To say we were overwhelmed would be an understatement given the reality that we have a toddler and a newborn. In times like these having good and knowledgable people to guide you through all of the various obstacles can reduce some of the stresses that are involved.

Robert from Servpro was that person for us. He was understanding, knowledgable, flexible and most importantly a good communicator. Robert, we can't thank you enough for all of your help during this unfortunate situation.

We have a flooded basement. Servpro responded quickly with a plan and huge drying equipment. They removed the soggy carpet and have been in direct contact with the insurance company for further removal and repair. Scheduling things to happen has been easy, and the team is always punctual.

Met with Matt and he walked me through the damaged areas affected by our sewage backup in our brand new home. No one wants to need SERVPRO, but when you do need them you want a team like Darrick and Jena to help you. We had a water leak and they arrived less than an hour after I called. They have been friendly and professional- and most importantly our rooms are dry and we do not have to worry about mold! Thanks so much!

The bill we received after the work was done was three times what was originally quoted. We understood that the original was an estimate, but we were never given an update on the amount. However, when reviewed a discrepancy was found in the invoice. They responded Immediately and positively and worked to rectify to rectify the situation. Their conduct reflects the highest degree of honesty, integrity, and professionalism. I recommend ServPro of DesMoines NW most heartily.

We had a house fire in December of 2023 in our upstairs bathroom and have had the worst experience with Servpro. Mac was the only person we actually didn’t have an issue with but turns out he no longer works with this company. The communication was absolutely disastrous, messages were ignored, appointments were cancelled and rescheduled on multiple occasions, we were blamed for delays, we were spoken down to and have been made to feel like we were a nuisance although we’re the ones who went through homing displacement. We had one room we agreed our items would be handled by us because of valuables in it and those items were sifted through by the movers of Servpro and when brought to their attention, our heat ended up magically getting turned off. A little too coincidental. Big items were left plugged in and running when they were no longer needed, upping our electrical bill. Projects were put off - flooring was delayed because they miscommunicated floor pricing and said it was our fault we didn’t pick something in our budget when they told us they were showing us things in our budget. When our items were brought back to our home we had over $1000 worth of damage done. Glass items thrown into boxes with a single piece of bubble wrap tossed on top. Jewelry tossed in one box left for us to sit an untangle for hours on end. An entire box of our bath towels had Zep shower cleaner tossed on top of it and spilled on it, bleaching 80% of our towels. Sentimental items smashed. Told we would be reimbursed for the damages back in the beginning of August, said they were sending a check in the middle of September this year (2024) and we still have not received a check and our messages have since been ignored or brushed off. They received their payment - our mistake - even though the job was not fully finished, edges to the bathroom doors were either installed wrong or not at all. While they have been responding to the hurricane victims, we should have had the job done back in March/April, which was their original timeline they gave us.Absolutely do not recommend and will never be working with this company in the future.

I hired SP to do mitigation and reconstruction on my home after a tornado. Once mitigation was paid we were going to move forward w reconstruction. Last week I txtd my point of contact and he told me he was laid off and I needed to contact Kevin. I called and left Kevin a msg on his cell and a few hrs later at the office, my call was never returned. I had a bad feeling so I hired a new contractor. He stopped by SP to see if my drywall had been tested for asbestos. They said they weren't sure and he'd have to talk to Kevin but he was sent to NC. I've still never received a call from SP and it seems they just ditched to make money elsewhere. While I was happy w the work done, bailing on my project without so much as a phone call is very unprofessional and I would not recommend this company.

Robert and his team showed up within an hour of my first call, in the middle of a blizzard, to work on our flooded basement. He thoroughly explained the situation and they took care of everything. It was a very stressful situation but they made it as easy as possible.

Robert and his crew did a fantastic job at our church building after we had significant flooding in the basement. They responded immediately and took such wonderful care of us. Couldn't recommend them more highly! Thank you Robert and crew!
