Ramiro and his team at Stone Cross Landscape were great. We had drainage issues in our backyard and Stone Cross was quick to get things sorted out for us. From estimating, to scheduling, and completing the project Stone Cross took great care of us. We would gladly use them again.

We had them do a sod job. They did an excellent job all around and the pricing was very fair.

We were so excited to find Stone Cross at the Home and Garden show this past February. We have used Dani in the past and were thrilled to find out she was back in Iowa. They are doing a great job of helping us nurse our yard back to looking great again.

It was great working with Danielle and her team. They created an island around some of our trees with a space for a bench. They also planted a new red maple for us as well as fixing some landscaping stones that the mowers had disturbed. I will be having them back to do more in the near future!

Ramiro and his crew did an outstanding job figuring out my waterfall issue. It is now flowing better than it ever has. All of the Stone Cross employees I’ve dealt with are professional and very gifted at their trade.

Brad and his team are very talented. They installed a patio, fire pit and putting green for us. We are thrilled with how it all turned out. It was a huge project and it really helped to see the 3D design beforehand. They were great to work with and went above and beyond to make our backyard an oasis. We are also happy with the fertilizing service.

Wonderful work. Cleaned up all leaves and yard mess .... removed everything. Yard looked fantastic. They were careful with all mulch areas and did not destroy them.

Stone Cross provided the sod for our landscape project in Ankeny which was being managed by Landscapes by Design out of Huxley. After about 1-2 month and despite watering twice daily per the schedule that was provided, a particularly large part of the sod died while other areas did just fine. Stone Cross came out and looked at it and said it looked like the sod must have had a "fungus". Now, after paying them thousands, I have a yard a large 50 by 100 foot of our yard that is dead per the pictures below. Unfortunately, Stone Cross is no longer responding to my landscapers requests for assistance. Do not recommend.

I recently took over management a small community bank in Johnston and, after years of substandard work by our previous lawncare and landscape service providers, I finally got with Stone Cross on a FULL SERVICE lawn care and maintenance program. They have undone years of neglect in one season. The best part is, one contact for everything. They handle mowing, chemical, irrigation, landscape repairs, weed pulling, pruning, hedging, EVERYTHING. They address any/all issues or requests within 2-3 days and communicate very well.

No more spending my own weekend time trying to keep our one-acre commercial property looking respectable. Our 27 year-old property is looking better than ever and I'm spending less time and effort on it than ever. If you want to know your lawn and landscape budget is going to do what it's supposed to, don't penny pinch, call Stone Cross.

Brad and Stone Cross built an amazing back yard hangout area for us. They designed and built approximately 1200 SF paver patio with fire pit, fire place, concrete bar, pizza oven and customized spot for my green egg. 3/4 of it is covered by an awesome cedar roof. They also did a great job with the landscaping and a new driveway! They did this in 2019 and it has been used a lot! We have friends and family over all the time to enjoy the wonderful space.

We are very happy with Stone Cross and highly recommend them to anyone needing their services.

Stone Cross took over a backyard renovation project that had been botched and abandoned by our original contractor and turned it into a showpiece.

They were able to walk us through the poor workmanship that had been originally done, explain why it was wrong and what needed to be different, and make the necessary corrections.

I would give them five stars on communication, workmanship, creativity, timeliness, completion, and professionalism. There were a couple of small items that were done wrong due to a miscommunication between workers, but it was quickly taken care of. We’ve learned with contractors it’s not if you make mistake. It’s what you do to correct it.
Price wise, they’re probably not the cheapest out there, but we also learned you get what you pay for.
I’ve nothing but good things to say about our experience with Stone Cross. We will work with them again

The entire Stone Cross team exceeded our expectations at every turn. In the design process they listened to our ideas and made them much better. In build, they told us what would happen and then did what they said they would do. They were responsive and great problem solvers. Our project was complex, 7 levels, new drainage, new gas, new electric, fix existing leak issue, existing pool, etc. I am a very detailed oriented person and Stone Cross had no problems exceeding my expectations. In addition to a stunning outcome, the guts are flawless and built to last. We could not be more pleased. We highly recommend Stone Cross.

We could not be happier or more pleased with landscape project installed by Stone Cross. During initial consultation we provided a general design concept to Stone Cross. On day of build, design was outlined on lawn and at their suggestion slightly modified to allow for easier mowing after construction. No shovels touched ground until we were both happy with proposed layout. Entire project was completed in one day by three men using only shovels, wheelbarrow, positioning bar and strong backs. Because no heavy equipment was involved, there was no yard wear and/or damage. While our project was not complex, more than once I observed workers on their own change positioning of large boulders to provide optimal aesthetic appearance. During construction several individuals stopped to compliment workers on quality of their work and post construction we have received numerous compliments on how their landscape installation compliments appearance of our home. After construction, workers went above an d beyond by placing grass seed around entire perimeter of stone wall as well as blowing off and sweeping driveway, sidewalk and street to remove any remnants of soil and mulch. Before leaving, workers inquired if we wanted to keep any unused stones and several were gladly placed in desired locations. Our expectations were exceeded by Stone Cross and we greatly recommend them for any and all landscaping projects.

I live in a HOA developing that Stone Cross takes care of and long story short they are horrible about taking care of our lawns. Starting with weed eating around tress with mulch instead of pulling the weeds ( pictures attached) backing up with big mower next to my house with exhaust melting the siding ( photo attached) I have had them replace my gutters at least 2 times because their lazy and run over them instead of picking them up, also we have a beautiful pond that they mow the grass into the pond which makes it look horrible. I’ve lived here 4 years and the service has gotten worse every year. Please do better Stone Cross! 🙁 would never recommend them!
