I have used Tendercare for multiple years now and recently had Austin and Chad visit to do some fall maintenance. They did a fantastic job, extremely polite and helpful with any question I had. I originally asked for seeding along with aerating but after they looked at my yard, they suggested to save the money and just do the aerating. They could have just did the work but they choose to educate myself on some helpful practices. It's rare anymore to find this kind of customer service. Thank you Austin and Chad!

We experienced poor customer service throughout our job but the owner has extended himself to hear our concerns and make things right. We experienced poor communication and disappointing results from the initial project but the owner went above and beyond to address our concerns, even returning years later to finish a grading issue that was postponed due to concrete work needed. I will note that a large part of the project dealt with grading so we wouldn’t have water draining into our basement and that has been 100% successful.

I cannot begin to say enough good things about Kevin Payne and his company, TenderCare. We inherited a back yard nightmare about 5 years ago and we finally bit the bullet this past winter and spring and fixed our retaining wall, drainage, concrete and leaking pool issues, among other issues that required major attention. We went ahead, thanks to Kevin's vision and leadership, and added a small outdoor kitchen area and other overall landscaping, so to speak. This was a major project that took about 6 months. Kevin and his employees finished in less than 6 months.

Kevin worked seamlessly with the pool subcontractor since all the new concrete and landscaping Kevin was doing overlapped the pool repair work that was required. Kevin constantly keep us informed on projects within the project, he was always overseeing the collective project (on and offsite) and handled everything with a smile. We would get weekly, if not daily, picture and video updates of the project, which was greatly appreciated. We could not have asked for a better turnout and customer service than what we got. He was smart, friendly, and fair. My wife and children would say no different. Kevin didn't oversell us anything but rather made smart suggestions that were worth the added cost when everything was said and done. I'm sure there are cheaper landscape companies in town than TenderCare, but the old saying is true; you get what you pay for. TenderCare is worth it. Kevin took pride in the project and was visibly proud of his company's work. TenderCare made our backyard dream a reality. If you're thinking about a major outdoor landscaping project of any kind, you'd be foolish to not to at least give TenderCare a call.

UPDATE (11/1/22)****
The owner came out to visit us regarding our issues. He did guarantee their work and I realized that my review was premature. The grass started to come in on day 10. It looks very nice. There are some areas that the seed did not take but overall I am happy with the end result. At this point with the cooler weather, the patchy areas will wait until spring when Tendercare can come back out and spread more seed. I would have given a 5 star rating but since the job is incomplete and will have to be on hold until spring, I gave a 4-star rating but that is subject to change in the spring. Overall I would recommend Tendercare if you need your yard reseeded or overseeted.

First Review ***: Tender Care showed up on the scheduled day. I expressed my concern that the weather forecast was for severe thunderstorms that evening. I called the office and requested that I reschedule due to the weather forecast. I was told that if I did not have the seed put down that day then they did not know if and when they could come back. I was not happy and I felt like I was being forced to have it done now. I reluctantly said to go ahead and do the job. As was forecasted, at 3:30 a.m., it was pouring down rain that lasted for about an hour. The next morning showed washout most everywhere in the front and backyard. Tendercare does not guarantee their work if it rains. I called the next morning to advise them that the washout was pretty significant in the front and back. I was told that they would send somebody out that day to take a look. It has been 2 days now and no one has shown up. The cost for this service is very significant. I am unhappy how this has been handled and I feel like they need to come out and take care of the washout areas. Based on this situation as of now, I would not recommend doing business with TenderCare.

Beware of this company! We were excited to move into a new home and have Tender Care handle our lawn and tree services. This company including its leadership has shown a consistent LACK OF INTEGRITY - POOR QUALITY OF SERVICE - UNRESPONSIVE TO ISSUES. We are reasonable people. We tried to work through it with one of the companies leaders who has us so upset we do not want him on our property, nor would we ever do business with this business. They deserve a ZERO, but the low here is a 1. We have used two lawn companies previously, both of which we would highly recommend. THIS ONE - STAY AWAY - YOU CAN'T TRUST THEM.

I normally try to use local companies whenever possible. After a no call/no show for an appointment they set up for an estimate I will now be using a company out of Wichita.

Update 4/2019 I recently gave Tendercare another try. I can say their sprinkler division did a good job and in a timely fashion. I will be contacting them about their lawn services (fertilization and weed control) and will provide an update after.

Update 4/2020 So far I am pleased with their fertilization and weed control. Should be doing core aeration shortly (Bermuda grass). Upfront honest pricing.

I used this company for several years and I am not sure what has changed but they are no longer willing to assist there customers. They installed me a new timer and it quit on me and when I called to have them come out and look at it so I could do some fall seeding, they put the blame on me. They said it could my pump or my well went dry. I told them no way but I would review. I called back 2 weeks later and they got someone out to review and they were at my house for 3 minutes. I got an invoice for a service charge of 85.00 and I have never been charged a service call before. Someone should have mentioned this when I called and no one did. Therefore, I refused to pay that portion of the invoice. Now they refused to winterized my system for the season. I think that is pretty cold. No one has customer service any more. I do not recommend this company anymore. I thought my 4 years of service accounted for something but guess not.

We chose Tender Care to install a complete irrigation system and was nothing but pleased with the results. Ryan and crew worked in a timely manner to install and program a customized system to address our watering needs. Very pleased that the existing lawn was barely disturbed. They programmed and showed us how to use the online Hunter app and control box - which is amazing to run from the phone. And Derby gave a rebate for this watering system!! They returned immediately for any zone adjustments we needed. Highly recommend this company for their work and customer service!

Tendercare added on to our covered patio with pavers and built an arched stone wall with a stone seat cap on top. It turned out beautiful and it has enhanced our back patio tremendously. Kevin was very good about showing us what it would look like when finished by drawings and photos of similar projects. They set a schedule and completed the project within the time frame they stated. We chose Tendercare because they had done previous work for us (outdoor kitchen in photo below) and we knew that this new project would be high quality and done right. The final product validated our faith in them as we love the extended area.

Tendercare also planted a Red Point Maple tree in our back yard in honor of my mother and father-in-law passing away within a few months of each other during the late summer/early fall. We call it the Grand Parents tree and are very pleased with it and look forward to it providing shade and beauty for many years.

I highly recommend Tendercare for projects like this as they take great pride in doing a quality job.

A consumer will get good, honest, dependable work from this company. Recommend
