Max may be young, but he is very knowledgeable and professional. He has been to my house twice this month on two different units and had us back up and running in 30 minutes or less! I would do business with them again and again.
My AC unit was not working Mark and his son came out on 6/20 told me that the valve was leaking and I needed refrigerant refilled was charged 140 for that. The next day the AC was back to not working he and his son came back to my home 6/23 he was there for 10 mins told me there was a hole too large to fix and my unit needed replaced. He said he could do it for 4200 because AHS doesn’t cover things they try to get out of their contacts. I told him I would talk to AHS to see what my next step was. Took him 4 business days to put his diagnosis to AHS for me to be able to see what I needed to do to get my AC replaced his diagnosis was that the fins where compromised by a person or weather and was not considered covered. I decided to get a second opinion with a different contractor through AHS (I have been with out AC in my home almost 3 weeks now) yesterday I had the new contractor here my valve was leaking (never originally fixed) he fixed that filled up my refrigerant (which I didn’t have to pay for) and now my AC is back to working. Everyday Heating and Cooling didn’t fix the job originally and made it out to AHS that the unit needed replaced.
The technician, "Mark", was entirely unhelpful and didn't even look at the unit. They came as a "second opinion" from American Home Shield and he kept telling me the unit just needed refrigerant and leak seal even after I told him someone had just been out and put a minuscule amount of refrigerant in and that it really didn't need any, yet it's getting up to 86 in the house. He was very short and rude, walked out after I didn't make a split decision in a $200 repair that wasn't even necessary. Would not recommend at all, contract company for AHS and not interested in actually helping people.
Had them repair my AC. It didn’t work the first time so they came out immediately and we found out the compressor was bad. They have several Options with different pricing. I ending up getting a whole new system for a decent price. They installed it in 8 hours and have a bit more left to do but everything is ending up pretty good so far. Will update if anything changes. Would recommend them for people very nice and timely. Will take pictures of the unit when it’s done.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you can possibly avoid it. They were our contractor through American Home Shield so we didn't have a choice. It was a very negative experience. First, they never called to arrange an appointment like they were supposed to, they just scheduled it without any input from me. This is unusual, as all other AHS contractors have always called me to agree on a good time. They picked a time that wouldn't work for me. So I had to go to great lengths to arrange for someone to be home. Then he showed up hours BEFORE the appointment window when no one was home, and gave very little notice that this was happening. I had to call him to reschedule. He asked me to text him the number of the person who would be home so he could call and say he was on his way the second time. I texted the number, but he never called. And he again showed up before the time we'd arranged. Fortunately we'd learned to expect this and someone was there this time to let him in. He also didn't wear a mask during the initial assessment appointment or the followup appointment to make the actual repair. Problems: -Not calling to arrange the appointment -Showing up outside the appointment window -Giving very little notice before arriving at the wrong time -Not calling ahead after asking for a number to call for this purpose -Didn't ever wear a mask. This state currently has the highest per capita COVID infection rate in the entire country and he failed to take proper precautions The only redeeming quality is that he did fix the problem with my furnace and the work seems to be satisfactory. But the customer service was absolutely terrible. I will never use this company again, and I'm warning all my friends and family to avoid them too. It was extremely stressful and aggravating. EDIT (this is a response to the company's reply): Thank you for the reply. I didn't mention in my original write-up that I DID call to try to reschedule but my message was never returned. I also emailed, but that was ignored as well. And while I can appreciate a tech stopping by outside the service window, that should not negate regularly-scheduled service window.
Put a service request in first thing in the morning with AHS for an issue with furnace, everyday heating and cooling accepted and scheduled appoint for same day in afternoon. They got there within the timeframe, explained what the problem should be and addressed it. Told me if there was still a problem to give them a call and they’d be back out ASAP. Didn’t need to call them back- it was fixed! Quick service response was highly appreciated and the explanation of what they were doing and how it affected system was appreciated as well.
