Steven and his team at Renovating KC are top-notch. Having been in the real estate industry for quite some time, they have been a trusted resource for our clients. From HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other repairs all the way to full-blown remodels, they have done spectacular jobs and pulled our clients out of jambs many times. If you’re looking for a reliable company that will not only pick up the phone, yet also do a great job, give them a shout.

I am super happy with RenoKC. Starting off strong, they were very responsive. Called after 5pm and Chad came to my house before 6pm that same day. Delivered the bad news about my air-conditioner and gave me a fair price on a new system. They had it all installed the next day. This team was very professional and clean. Customer service is 10 out of 10. I will definitely call these guys again.

Chad and Christian recently came out to service our AC unit that had a blown motor. The timing couldn’t have been worse with family and friends coming into town for my upcoming graduation from college. They not only provided excellent service, but cleared their entire schedule to make sure that we had a brand new AC and furnace installed within 24 hours of my initial appointment. Chad did a great job of explaining my options and made the whole process very seamless! Would definitely recommend this company to any of my family and friends for future services!

I hired Renovating KC to remodel my childhood home. My father recently passed and left my brother and I the home. We just couldn’t part with it despite it still being in its original 1987 condition, appliances and all. Every room and surface needed to be updated and the Ross brothers did an amazing job! The communication was wonderful, especially since I was trying to coordinate everything from Oregon. They were able to get the remodel done in just a few short months and even under budget!

I wouldn’t even hesitate to use them again for another project. They are the best!

Phenomenal experience from beginning to end. The design team started us off with 3D renderings of the potential. Permits were done promptly. Construction started without a hitch. They kept the rest of our house clean and protected from the renovation traffic. The final product looks identical if not better than the original 3D rendering. Definitely will be using them for future needs.

We couldn’t be happier with this company - from the initial consult to the actual install work these guys were awesome to work with. Very professional and knowledgeable. I was so impressed with how they took care of the work space, showing great care to not damage anything while moving the hot water heater in and out. They arrived on time as promised. We will use them again.

Ben and Steve made the remodeling process so stress-free. They did an amazing job on making our basement a comfortable, accessible and great-looking space. Everyone involved in the project was dependable and they communicated and responded to everything we asked for. I would highly recommend them.

It's been a year since RenoKC did a kitchen remodel project for our home in Brookside, and we still couldn't be happier. The original kitchen was fine, but wasn't a great use of space, and it made it difficult for my wife and I to enjoy together. Old homes like ours come with some unexpected challenges, but their team was un-phased. We now get so much more use out of it, that we spend together instead of in front of the tv - and I'm grateful for that.
Their design lead, Kayla and her team were excellent to work with and totally delivered on the vision my wife dreamed of. Collaborating with her was a fun part of the process.
Our project lead, Anthony went way beyond my expectations. He was always on top of every aspect of our project, he kept a tight schedule and gave accurate timelines. Ultimately, Anthony became somebody we care about and loved having around. There were times he'd stay late to tell the boss (my wife) project updates and details that I'd mess up telling her.
Ben and Steven have a great team of good people that do great work. With a great local roster, it's likely you know some of them, but whether you do or not they're trustworthy in how they handle business from pricing, to consulting, to the finished product.
The next projects we're planning will certainly involve RenoKC.

We used RenoKC to remodel a home we purchased in 2023. We were excited to work with Steven and his team who were clearly hungry to grow their business. Unfortunately, we found that RenoKC bit off more than they could chew with our project, and they have since admitted to going through growing pains. Now, we are dealing with the consequences of their team’s disorganization and lack of quality control.

In just a few months since work was completed, we are having to repair or replace much of the paint and carpet their subcontractors installed in our house. Attached is a sample of photos of their poor workmanship, even after attempts to touch up. RenoKC has acknowledged they won’t use their painter again due to the poor quality; but despite that, they’re requiring us to continue to use that painter for our repairs if we want the work covered by their warranty. We do not have confidence in their ability to do the job, which is particularly disheartening given how disruptive it is to have to live through the re-work.

Additionally, RenoKC’s disorganization showed throughout the project, which also impacted quality. Construction blueprints were never updated as plans changed, incorrect measurements were provided to subcontractors, designers waited until the last minute to propose selections if at all, and there was inconsistent documentation of finances and agreements with subcontractors. We recognize no construction project is perfect, but we had to constantly check their work to catch mistakes before they became larger problems.

For these reasons, we wouldn’t recommend RenoKC for people who care about quality and organization in their projects.

We’ve used to Renovating KC for 3 separate projects and all three were an amazing experience! They’re very professional, transparent, and do quality work. A home renovation project is a big investment and you can rest assured that Renovating KC is going to treat it as if it’s them making it. I couldn’t recommend them any more!

We hired Renovating KC to refresh our kitchen. We are BEYOND thrilled with the finished product! From the design appointments we had with Keely and Kara who gave us fantastic advice and direction, to the demo day with Pat to the final walkthrough, we couldn’t have been happier! Alex W. did an EXCEPTIONAL job communicating with us throughout the project. He also did the tile work…wow! Simply stunning! Jason and Pedro from JNA Painting worked on our cabinets and they are absolutely beautiful! We also had additional electrical work in the kitchen and throughout the house. We were previously told that we could not add outlets to the floors in our living room. Cory from CH Electric looked at the situation and determined that we definitely COULD have floor outlets (we previously had 3 Master Electricians tell us that no, this was not possible). Stanley Wood Products created a beautiful wine cabinet insert that looks like it was designed as part of our kitchen from the onset. Stone Surfaces installed a gorgeous counter of quartzite. Rhyn, Kirk, and Alex W. were in constant communication as this project progressed from start to finish. One of the owners, Chris, stopped by twice to see how things were going. Extremely impressive.

I HIGHLY recommend Renovating KC from a total remodel to a refresh of your living space. You won’t be disappointed!

Working with RenoKC to design and remodel our kitchen was one of the best decisions we’ve made for our home.

From the initial visit, throughout the design process, during the demo and remodel phases - everyone we had the pleasure of working with was extremely professional, communicative, and skilled.

The design came out exactly how we had hoped and the team helped come up with some really great ideas to maximize space and increase utility while maintaining the core design.

The project management team was top notch (they nailed the timeline which is still incredible to me) and helped resolve some HVAC and plumbing problems that were discovered during the rough in. The attention to detail is second to none but really what stood out to me was how much the team cared about our home and the project. They cut no corners, came to us with concerns and helped create our perfect kitchen.

We couldn’t be happier with the outcome of our basement renovation. We reached out to Renovating KC in February to discuss our basement, and after our consultation, we knew they were the perfect company to make it happen.

We were assigned a designer and a pre-construction manager. They worked together to make our vision for the space work with our budget. Kara, the designer, used our inspiration photos to create a layout that would be functional, aesthetically pleasing, and fun for the whole family.
Once we approved the design, we were assigned a construction/project manager. We were incredibly happy working with Anthony. His attention to detail and his communication skills are just a few qualities that set him apart. Any issue or question we would bring up had already been recognized or addressed. Anthony helped us keep to the planned timeline and the entire construction process went smoother than we expected.
