Brown did great work maintaining our lawn and very helpful with special requests. Highly recommend them.

I had them come out to aerate and overseed this fall. The first time they came out, they aerated but didn’t put any seed down. On top of that, they broke one of the fence pickets trying to get their larger machine in the back. They told me they would fix it and would return with their smaller machine. The following week they came out and aerated the back yard but couldn’t seed because the other machine had a flat tire. The man working there did seed by hand using a plastic cup. I’ve requested they fix the fence several times for a month now without any response, yet they’ve sent several invoices for payment. I’d look elsewhere before using this company.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
I signed up with them on May 26, 2023. I was explicit that I needed lawn care and bush trimming and that I wanted the bushes trimmed immediately, sometime during the summer, and again in the fall. Also, my words verbatim, "I need the big bush trimmed so it's not touching the house. When it does, we have bugs that traverse the limbs and make it into the kitchen." I mean, very clear and succinct instructions, of which they affirmed would not be an issue.
To be fair, I will give them a thumbs up on mowing. No issues there. On par with the plethora of other options out there.
HOWEVER, when it came to the bushes, I had to call and text week after week and listen to empty commitments of when they would be out to address. I even asked them, "Do I need to just have you do the lawn and I find another company to take care of my bushes?" Finally, 7/14 my bushes get trimmed. Of course, I'm at work when it's done so I don't see it till I get off work. I immediately call them on Tuesday. My wife also calls. No immediate call back. The invoice for the bush trimming comes on 7/17 for $182.50. Imagine my surprise that I'm charged such an exorbitant amount for such poor service. I get the invoice at 9:24am. I paid the invoice at 9:35am. My reasonable expectation was that they would make things right so even though they were overpriced and rendering poor service, I wanted to make certain that on my end, the books were straight by paying them before the ink dries on the bill.
Well, we finally get a call back a little over a week later. We're told that they'll come back out and re-do the bushes but they would charge us for it. I'm like why in the hell would I pay you for the SAME job twice???? Mind you, we initially contacted them when the work was completed so it's not like weeks or months have passed by. Our contact with them was HOURS after the service was performed!
This whole ordeal with them does not rub me right in the least so I'm taking to the wonderful world of social media to let others know they should RUN, not walk, from dealing with this company.
Lastly, the verbiage on their invoice is very blunt, pointed, and specific with their expectations for payment for services rendered. So, as I read it, I'm wondering...what about the focus on the customer? Meaning, how about you first render the services in a timely manner and with good quality with the same energy and expectation as you have on receiving your money?!?! It's a two-way street here folks. This company has lost sight of that little tidbit. BUT, they want their money!!!!
I've advised them to not touch the bushes any further and that after this season is over, their services will no longer be utilized by me. I'd rather cut the yard with a pair of scissors than to deal with these people after this year!
EDIT: Ummm, yeah...the bushes hadn't been trimmed since the end of last season when my previous mowing company retired. So that is EXACTLY why the 2nd item we discussed during our initial communication was to get the bushes trimmed ASAP! Again, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to do the math...May 26th to July 14th. During that time, riddled with empty rhetoric, yet no service until I was fed up and ready to go find someone to provide the service that Brown Brothers' committed to do but didn't provide in a timely manner. Address that! Let's discuss that!
Further, I've got ALL text communication between myself and this company. He is correct, YES...they responded. Eventually. And read his words carefully, he stated they have an 'extensive' call record...of course, because I called weekly if not multiple times each week to see when they were coming out to do the bushes! DUH!
Let's help the folks out here, shall we? As to my lack of factual details review, I'm adding pictures so you folks can read what I wrote, read what the owner wrote, then evaluate if this is what you want to spend $182.50 of your money on. Weigh the frustration and lost time babysitting the issue to get them out to FINALLY trim them. -
Eddie and his crew have provided us with stellar lawn care services. He currently maintains our sprinkler system and provides meticulous leaf clean up. I highly recommend his company.
-
Eddie has been incredible, both in week to week lawn maintenance as well as a challenging water drainage issue I have been fighting for close to a decade now. They worked with me on a real solution and so far it has helped immensely.
I definitely recommend giving Brown Brother's a try for any and all of your lawn and landscaping needs -
This company is excellent. They are professional and efficient. I’ve used them for about a year now and they offer any service I need for my law care and snow removal. They show up regularly, a real person answers their phone and is super helpful. Both customer service and their work are excellent. Nice job Brown Brothers.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They quoted me $140 and charged my card $490. My payment is due January 12th. I spoke with someone in the office and said I would pay Friday (payday). They went ahead and charged my card today without my permission. They leave out that customer will pay multiple men an hour for leaf clean up. “Subject to change based on time accrued.” Is what the quote states. Doesn’t say anything about MULTIPLE men. They refuse to work with me in regards to the price or a payment plan. The owner refuses to call back. His attitude is beyond rude and highly inappropriate. I’ve read multiple reviews on Facebook, Nextdoor, and google and unfortunately this is how he handles business. PLEASE USE ANOTHER COMPANY!

Brown Brothers did a great job and continue to do a great job with both lawn maintenance and snow removal for me. Pricing is straight forward and reasonable. They are reliable, quick, and easy to work with. Look forward to continuing business with them in the future.

We've used Brown Brothers starting late last summer. This is our 1st use of a lawn service. We signed up for lawn & snow. Have found them responsive to my emails. We are very pleased with the services. We believe their prices are reasonable. We got 3 other bids theirs was the middle bid. Went with Brown Brothers due to their responsiveness.

WORST COMPANY EVER RAN OFF SCAMS.
I was given a written quote for $140, and after the work was completed, I was charged $650. When I questioned the drastic increase, the company stated they saw nothing wrong with it because their quote says “subject to change.”
A quote is widely understood to be a formal document outlining the price and scope of work. Any ethical and professional business owner would contact the customer before making significant changes and obtain approval—especially when the cost increases by more than four times the quoted amount. They tell you in your quote they look at your property using gps satellite which makes you believe the $140 quote they give you. Since they use gps satellite they should be able to break down cost to be 100% transparent. They should’ve said, it looks like we’ll need to send 3 guys at about 3 hours giving you a quote of X amount of dollars. Instead, they choose to continue to be scammers and running a business based on lies.
Using “subject to change” as a blanket excuse after the fact is misleading and removes any real meaning from providing a quote at all. If customers must expect unlimited price changes without communication or consent, then the quote itself is meaningless. I am not the first person with this complaint which shows they know what they are doing is wrong, but because it puts money in the bank account they continue to do it.
I’m extremely disappointed in the lack of transparency, accountability, and basic business ethics. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone who values honesty, clear communication, or being charged what they were quoted. Guaranteed they will comment saying it was very clear and there were no vague areas when it comes to this, welcome to the world of gaslighters. -
Unbelievable quality
-
Never heard back from them
-
This company was incredibly difficult to work with and my wife and I ended up going a different direction.
If communication is important to you I would suggest that you chose a different contractor. -
I have hired and consulted with Houston Landscaping and they are the best around. Extremely professional and very knowledgeable. I know have them any and all yard work for my house.

Huston is one of those companies that care about the customer. From Douglas and Anthony to the guys in the field you will get people whose word is good and stand behind their work. I will be using Huston again and always recommend them to others.

I am blown away by the care the Huston staff takes with my lawn and landscaping projects. My lawn and landscaping has never looked better! Staff is friendly, courteous and pays attention to detail. Highly recommend.

Very sketchy experience. Dishonest. Unpleasant people.
[UPDATE]
Their response is far from accurate. They had ROCKS falling from their rear bumper as they drove down the highway. My car received easily a softball sized strike in my windshield as a result. After chasing the driver down for over a dozen blocks, I finally got him to pull over. He told me he did not have insurance and to call their office. After calling several times, they finally returned my calls saying they had no intentions of paying until I threatened further action with the police and DoT.
They were rude and took no responsibility, and felt it necessary to scold me for my reaction when I was trying to deal with the situation, without involving insurance.
The dismissal and inaccuracies in their response is indicative of their refusal to take responsibility and their dishonesty of the situation. Negligent business and management.
