Read moreBecause One Stop Decorating had done work for me before, I had them return to provide Hunter Douglas shades for eight bay windows. After the sales rep measured them, he quoted me a price and demanded full payment up front before work could begin. They installed a product that is so horrendously ill-fitting, the shades, (which are beautifully made) are unfortunately rendered useless. The headrails are oversized and are jammed together, and the shades protrude so far out from the windows they barely filter out sunlight and provide little privacy. The contract I signed with them stated the light gaps between shades could be up to 1". OSD assured me that only a sliver of light would actually be seen due to the wood frames. The light gaps from their installed shades are at least 2" apart. OSD explained this was the best they could do; no other Hunter Douglas shades could work, and not to contact them as they wouldn't care. After numerous attempts to resolve these issues, my calls were not returned and no effort was made to address the problems or refund my money. I did contact Hunter Douglas execs, who did care, and were dismayed. They also attempted to get OSD to resolve the issues, and they referred me to another local Hunter Douglas distributor, who has been terrific. In fact, even the sample shades they brought me fit far better than what OSD installed. Because of OSD's poor workmanship and refusal to rectify the situation, I cannot recommend this company to anyone.
A Most Disappointing "Experience" indeed. One Stop was highly recommended to us by a friend, and we had no reason to doubt them for a moment. We were thrilled to have blinds and shutters in our lovely new Lenexa home, and our sales representative seemed to be competent, even if a touch weary and condescending. We agreed to double shutters in the front facing room, motorized shades in the high windows in the kitchen, and high to low manual shades in the bedrooms. Of course, our rep guaranteed that he would personally oversee all work for the entire installation. Our order arrived ahead of scedule, but this would be the last positive note in our dealings with the company. The very first issue was that our motorized blinds were NOT included. Our "hands on" rep was nowhere to be found, and at no point was our shipment inspected before being sent out. Neither was one of our costly shutters damaged. We'd been pumped up on Hunter Douglas being the premium manufacturer used by OSD, but after this was pointed out, we were informed that "lately there had been some slip ups" with the products. Of course, we were told that this "had never happened before" (and yet it just did). Oh, and of course our rep showed up and admitted NOTHING, but apologized for misrepresenting himself, as he never really meant to supervise our job personally. The owner sent my wife a lovely email offering to "look into" our situation, etc, and promised to complete the installation as per our agreement, which we found to be the lowest bar any reputable business could achieve. Finally, our purchase of the motorized units had been agreed upon on a larger cell size, but the rep signed onto it without bothering to explain that they were not offered in the larger size. The care we were given was shoddy at best, careless at worse. This business continues to enjoy high ratings, but should anyone ask, we are unable to offer anything close to a recommendation. This was a dismal fail.
I took my Solera blinds here for repair. There was a reasonable Handling cost. One stop took care of everything and returned the blinds to Me in working order. I highly recommend this store. I went to the location on 135th street
I had all new blinds installed in my townhome, and I was thrilled with the results. Thank you Heidi and Mark. I was so pleased, I made an appointment for consult for new drapes.
The shades are beautiful! Lucas was both efficient & effective in the installation process. He was courteous and professional. He invited questions and explained how to adjust the shades if needed. What's not to love about that?!!
We had One Stop out for a service call when one of our shades stopped working. We were charged for two service calls because there was to be a diagnostic call and one for install of a new motor if needed. The tech came diagnosed the problem. We had tried to change the batteries, but when he did it the shade worked. Yeah! So, no second visit needed. I assumed we'd get a refund for the visit we didn't need. When I talked with Brennan he told me that the service call charge was the same price as the price for the two visits I paid for in advance. He told me that they charge this much to change batteries because it's typically on shades that are difficult to reach. This one is not high at all. The tech used a stepstool and my batteries. They refused to refund for the second service visit. I've spent thousands of dollars with them. They've lost a customer and any referrals from me. Brandon, I appreciate your response, but that simply isn't true. The battery change service call was twice what I paid for two service calls. That is what your employee told me. $218.00 is NOT a nominal fee. After the owner's response to my review I called Brennan again and discussed my issue. He told me service calls are all $218 and my two calls should have been double that. Though earlier he told me that battery calls are more expensive. Based on my dissatisfaction and posting of negative reviews he gave me a refund for half of my charge. I appreciate the refund, but I still feel communication and knowledge by some staff as to what service calls cost is lacking. A customer shouldn't have to work so hard to get a straight answer.
