Dylan was super professional with his work today on my AC. He was efficient, worked quickly with me and was considerate of my meetings and busy time working from home. I would definitely recommend Dylan and his team anytime for any HVAC issues!

I prayed that God would send me an upright contractor, one who did not pad out the invoice, one who would not treat me unrighteously. If you are here debating spending much money, hear my testimonial, regarding first, the goodness of God who sent to me honest and reasonable men, and second about the way they conducted themselves; Let me tell you how God in his mercy, goodness, and love, answered my prayer, and delivered to me an upright contractor in an age where inequity is abundant.

TL;DR Modern Air dealt uprightly; checked costs; actually entered my crawlspace, counted drops, took the time to bother making a real quote, instead of asking me for moonshot prices. I highly recommend them.

Long version:

I called everyone that I could find on the map. Some refused, others quoted me many thousands more than Modern Air, just bizzare, wild quotes, and I knew from looking at the costs, the drops, and the napkin math, that some of the contractors I was talking to wanted 200, 300, maybe even 400 dollars an hour. I looked at the pricing of material. The quotes of some of the competitors were shameful, without ever even seeing my house, literally over the phone; without knowledge of my home, the crawlspace, drops, etc. If you don't know the scam many contractors pull, they call it "pricing the job" not the hours worked. So they look at your home, what you drive, and shoot a padded number your way.

Some of the contractors that I called, came out to my home in expensive dodge pickups, but did not bother to check my crawl space, it's configuration, etc. They looked at everything outside my house, and gave me a quote. Difficult to reconcile such a thing. Some opened the door and peered inside, but again, did not enter, count, or care about what was going one. One of the competitors was very concerned that little mice would need to be exterminated first.

The difference in Modern Air vs Everyone else I contacted:
* Arrived on time, Personable.
* They bothered to look inside, in fact, they toiled to look inside.
* They gave me a reasonable quote on the materials. I looked at what this would cost me down the road; and had a rough idea already of where I'd be.
* They immediately saw a problem, unrelated to the work I asked them for, and fixed that for me; gratis, free of charge. How kind.
* I got a real quote; based on actual work, and actual estimates.
* Wonderful family business, set realistic expectations for wait times, etc. Arrived and worked promptly.

So what is the most important part for you, costs. Was the quote competitive? Turns out when you know what you are doing and are not padding out your costs; actually pricing jobs, and not trying to see who you can bait in, your quote comes in at 64% the cost of the most padded out quote. The outlandish things that I heard from other contractors.

I cannot say enough about how much I have appreciated working with this wonderful family business, that did honorable work for me, who were upright with me, who did the work, actually looked, and quoted as if they cared that I could afford it or not (I had sold my truck and spent the last of what HVAC duct replacements)

So I want to thank all of you there; in my estimation, you are decent people, none but God are good. Thank you all! I've used Modern Air at two different homes now and Steve has always been on time and makes the repairs/maintenance in a quality manor. Pricing is fair and they keep a good inventory of parts on-hand so most things as complete in a single visit. Highly recommend.

These guys were great. Dylan and Steve know their stuff. Did a complete install heat and AC, with gas furnace and added heat pump, and they got it done in a day. Only had to come back the next morning to run another wire for thermostat but had heat up and going same day. Cleaned up their messes as they made them when running lines everywhere. I had 3 estimates and they had by far the best deal for price and comparative equipment used.

Modern air in berea is the most reliable and honest business I know for heat and air.
They are prompt and if they are going to be late they will notify you.they are very courteous and really have met my needs

In August of 2023 I realized that I had no air. Called Modern Air INC. Dillon was here in no time. Had it going in no time. Fast forward to August, 2025. Again no Air. Called Dillion. Same results, had Air in no time. Exceptional service.

We had a very positive experience with Modern Air. I originally called because our system was running outside and not inside. We knew our system was original to our house, so it was 20+ years old. Steve came and got it working for us but did inform us that it wasn’t a long term fix and we would need a new unit. He quoted a price for the new unit and I paid him for coming out that day. After researching, we found that Modern Air gave us a very fair quote and I scheduled with them. The new unit was put in promptly! They were nice young men and respectful to our property. When we paid, the original amount I had paid for the quick fix was deducted off. I appreciated that!

They were amazing, quick service time and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend them to everybody they were very knowledgeable about the hvac system and knew exactly what the problem was and fixed it quickly and even cleaned the outside of our air unit 10 out of 10 recommend!

Mr. King and crew were in and out of my house in about 10 hours total over a couple of days for a complete install on my 2 unit system (2 & 2.5 ton). I have a 3 story home and the upper level air exchanger is in a particularly awkward area on the front-wall attic access, and they were efficient and professional with zero mishaps.

We are very pleased with our experience with Modern Air Inc. They were fast to respond, fast to arrive and quick with completing services. They were very professional, helped us to understand what services were needed and why they were. Prices were exact with estimate and services were as economical as those kinds of services can be.
