Hate to be the first bad review but the situation warrants it.

Had Richard come out to quote 2 jobs at my house.

1st job : pull knob and tube and run new light circuits. I could nitpick things about this job but overall they did what I needed them to do.

2nd job: run a new service line to my garage. I was quoted a price and was told they needed to get in contact with LG&e to get the process started. First job completed and paid for. I waited for updates regarding the new service install and got nothing. A couple weeks after the first job was finished I got a text message saying another job was finished which I assume was this one. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited. After about a month or two I reached back out to see what was going on with this process and was told by Richard that he would reach out to LG&e what was up. He said he would then call me back. Never called me back since my last call and I assume this is just their way of saying that they don't want to take on the job that they quoted me for. If not it is still a failure of communication that creates a bad customer experience which is why I am writing this review. There was no haggling of prices., I just told them what I needed to have done, I accepted their initial quote, and they told me they would put it on the schedule.

Did a hot tub install for us and did an excellent job! They were polite, were mindful of our house, and efficient. I highly recommend them to others.

They moved and added outlets for me and they were great. Came immediately to give me a quote and scheduled the work quickly to work with my wallpaper installation. Five stars. Great company.

So happy to have found a great electrician in Louisville! Jared was on time, didn't make us feel stupid when he informed us that our "broken outlet" was simply on a switch, was willing to look at several other things to troubleshoot, and delivered a quote for a future project within a few minutes of leaving! Richard and Jared were great. They helped me beyond my wildest dreams. They were quick and professional and I wish I had met all of them sooner (including Andrew who did the initial estimate).

Richard was great! He explained details of the problem, several possible solutions I could choose from, and agreeably fixed another small problem. St. Matthews Electric does terrific work and is very reasonable in price.

Richard arrived within 15 minutes of my call, diagnosed my problem and was done within a couple hours

I am so happy with St. Matthews Electric!! They do awesome work. They text you when they are coming, explain what they are going to do, their work is perfect and fast. They even clean up after themselves. I would refer them to anyone

St. Matthews Electric is a great company to work with. We had an emergency electrical problem after the wind storms and had to turn our power off as a safety precaution. We called on Sunday morning (the windstorm was two days earlier). Richard came out first thing Monday morning even though they had a full schedule that day. He was back Tuesday to do the complete service replacement. We had power by Tuesday afternoon. I was very impressed with the quick response. I felt that he cared about our situation and making sure everything was safe. He thoroughly answered any questions we had and was very easy to get in contact with when we needed to speak with him. I would recommend them to anyone.

Andrew and Richard were amazing! High quality and professional work! They offer very reasonable prices and they don’t take forever! They upgraded our electric panel and installed our hot tub and emergency shut off! I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of electric services.

We bought an electric car & needed to have a charger installed in the garage. The electrician called me when they were on their way showed up on time, cleaned up afterwards & did a great job.
