Derrick was absolutely fantastic! His time window was between 12-5 and although I had called GE twice to let them know that I wouldn’t be home until 4, they did not communicate that to Derrick. Derrick however was so kind and waited a whole HOUR for me to get home to service my dishwasher. He was also so kind and knowledgeable. If he hasn’t gotten kudos or a raise, he absolutely deserves it.

Our technician Stephen came out. Did the repairs to our cooktop very quickly took great care not to damage anything on our countertops or other surfaces and I would highly recommend them for any future appliance repairs.

David from Bodewell went above and beyond. He called ahead of the appointment, arrived earlier than the scheduled window, and was extremely thorough, kind, and friendly throughout the visit.

He clearly explained each step of the diagnostic process, what was needed to identify the issue, and how it would be fixed. He was very efficient, tested and measured everything carefully, and confirmed the dishwasher was operating back to spec.

Best of all, he had the necessary parts with him and was able to complete the repair in a single visit. I really appreciated his professionalism and preparation.

I would absolutely recommend David from Bodewell and would not hesitate to use him again.

Eddie was on time, efficient and friendly. Great representative of Bodewell and GE. We have a shoes off home, so the clean shoe booties were greatly appreciated. Would prefer Eddie come back if I ever have anymore appliance issues. Amazing service overall, couldn’t have made things any easier for us.

I recently had Bodewell Service out to repair my GE Monogram oven, and I was extremely pleased with the experience. Their technician, Jared, was very knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to clearly explain the issues as he diagnosed them and made sure I understood what needed to be done.

Although the repair could not be completed during the initial visit due to additional parts being required, Jared promptly ordered the necessary parts and scheduled a follow-up appointment in a timely manner.

I truly appreciate the professionalism and service I received and would highly recommend Bodewell Service—and Jared—for any appliance repair needs.

Update (Jan 21, 2026): During the first service visit, no airflow testing or documentation was performed for the hood. During the second service visit, the technician repaired a broken, brand-new GE dishwasher; the visit was unrelated to hood performance. A follow-up visit was therefore scheduled by GE Consumer Relations specifically to document the hood’s uneven airflow. Bodewell Appliances cancelled this appointment for the second time (the first cancellation is documented below) and stated: “I am following up to inform you that the technician will not be able to service your appliance today. There has been several service appointments for this appliance and it is working as designed. Our technician’s recommendation is for you to purchase a more powerful hood vent to accommodate your desire. It is great news to know that your current hood is working correctly.”

This response does not address the core issue: while the unit may be “working as designed,” that design results in uneven airflow that does not ventilate the full cooktop surface, which was neither disclosed nor demonstrated prior to purchase and does not meet reasonable expectations for a functioning range hood.

I’m very disappointed with both the service experience as well as the actual product, the GE 30" Under The Cabinet Hood (Model #JVX5300SJSS), which does not perform across the advertised cooking surface.

Most of the time when I call, I encounter very bureaucratic and unhelpful customer service representatives who show little motivation to resolve issues.

The technician who has visited us multiple times has been difficult to work with, including during a prior visit for a separate issue involving a brand-new dishwasher. Today, I waited half a day for a scheduled visit where range hood airflow performance was supposed to be evaluated and documented, as required by the Consumer Relations team for an open case. At the last minute, the same technician called and refused to come to the appointment, stating there was nothing more to do.

He also claimed that he had previously performed a napkin test on both sides of the hood and that both sides worked. This is not accurate. The hood has a single intake on the left side, with cooking grease marks clearly visible in the attached photos, while the right side remains largely clean. As you can see, grease residue from normal cooking has accumulated only on the left side of the hood, indicating where airflow is actually occurring.

A napkin placed on the right side is not pulled in, while the left side shows strong suction. This difference is clearly visible in the attached photos, where the napkin is lifted on the left side but remains still on the right under the same conditions.

GE states this behavior is “working as designed,” but this creates a false expectation that a 30-inch range hood will provide reasonably even airflow across the cooking surface and from front to back.

There is photo and video evidence documenting this issue, including reports and demonstrations shared by other users online, indicating this is not an isolated case.

For additional context, the attached photos also show that when the hood is set to HIGH, steam from a small water humidifier is immediately pulled straight up on the left side, where the intake is located. On the right side, using the same distance and conditions, there is little to no visible suction—the steam rises and drifts instead of being captured.

GE Profile Microwave not heating. GE Tech Jonathan gave courteous call prior to arrival. Once onsite, he removed Microwave to counter and assessed the problem. He had parts in his vehicle, installed them, tested them, and put microwave back in wall.
Jonathan is professional, courteous, and a problem solver.

Problem: Left refrigerator door won't stay open. Service Tec Armando
Was told the issue was an installation issue and not a warranty issue. Was further advised that the floor under the refrigerator was uneven as he opened a Level app on his phone and placed it on the ground. Saying the floor was slanted from the left to right. He left with no further inspection. I removed the refrigerator from its alcove and checked the floor with a level. The floor was level from top to bottom and left to right. I replaced the refrigerator and checked it with a level. The refrigerator was level on the top and sides. I did observe that the left door was was mounted a fraction of an inch higher than the right door. I also noted that the space between the two doors, when closed, was wider at the top and narrower at the bottom.

The lady who answered the phone was extremely unfriendly & told me that they do not offer a service that they have in their list of services on their website.

Absolutely the worst electrical company I have used !
Misinformed , unprofessional, and created a major mess that my next company is saying is a mess and completely wrong. Definitely not recommend

No wonder this company is lowly rated. If they work anywhere near like how they drive, stay far, far away from this company. I just witnessed their driver almost cause no less than three traffic accidents.

I work maintenance at a fairly new Louisville, extended stay Motel. Caye Electric did all the electric work in the motel. Obviously, their work passed city inspections, but we’ve had to have them back several times since. Of late they have been very hard to get in contact with. For example, the last two times I called before today, I had to leave a message, and it was the next day before I heard from them (and both times I called them before noon). I had to call them again today, the first time I called, as soon as I told the receptionist what motel I was, she rudely said “let me transfer you I don’t handle that“, and proceeded to hang up on me. The second time I called (immediately after the first call) , I got an answering machine, I left a message asking them to call me back. The third time I called (about a half hour later), the receptionist told me she was going to transfer me. Well, I hung up seven minutes after I she put me on hold. After I hung up, I called them directly back, and got the answering machine once again, ...really... I left a message asking them to call me back. I still haven’t heard from them. There’s a reason they were the lowest bidder.
