Constraction reviews in Prospect, Kentucky

Tim and Mengel exteriors have been wonderful to work with. They did a professional and timely job on our basement windows and they also installed a brand new back door for us. They have answered all of our questions and have gone above and beyond to complete the jobs. Highly recommend them!

Mengel provided exceptional service replacing our 50 year old aluminum siding with new LP smart siding. We are very happy with the result and the care their installation team took on our site. Would certainly recommend!

The existing wood siding on my home was reaching the end of its useful life. Further complicating matters was the fact that the existing siding created a lot of challenges for the installers. I got the impression that several contractors did not want to tackle the job. Luckily, I called Mike, who is one of the owners of Mengel Exteriors. He explained that he had the perfect product for a job like mine: Alside Ascend composite plank siding. It has the appearance of wood siding, but it is a Hardie Board type material. It comes in single, 12-foot long, lap planks, so it looks a little more premium than vinyl siding. It’s also thinner than vinyl, so it doesn’t bulge out nearly as much when applied over the existing wood siding, and the fact that this does not not require the removal of the existing siding saved me a significant amount of money compared to Hardie Board. So I got a more premium appearance without the anxiety or expense of tearing off all the original wood siding, and I got a product with a lifetime warranty; it will never need painting, it adds insulation, which made my second floor much quieter, it resists pests like woodpeckers, and it even provides some protection from fire. It is a really great product… Google it. Not only did I get a good product, but the team at Mengel Exteriors created a well thought out plan to tackle all the tricky areas, and I am thrilled with the results. I was particularly concerned about my bay window. My house was built in the 70’s, and there had already been some repairs over the years. I was honestly prepared to be a little disappointed. I knew this needed to be done, but I just did not think anyone would be able to make it look right. However, crew that preformed the installation are true craftsmen. The way all the angles come together on the bay window, and how it integrates so well with the rest of the siding... there is real artistry to their work. The planning and execution really separates the amateurs from the professionals. These guys are professionals. So at this point, you might be saying: “This is a glowing review, so it must be fake.” Let me tell you… I feel like I spent less money than I anticipated, and I am happier than I thought I would be. That is a great feeling! It is well worth a few minutes of my time to write a review. My experience makes me believe that you will feel the same way too!

Wonderful product and service. Fair pricing. We had all our windows replaced. Brett was with us informing every step of the way. Their product and installation warranty is exceptional. We had some (self made) closure problems-Brett came out promptly and patently re-explained the proper way to close the windows. Always responsive, pleasant and professional. I trust them completely and heartily recommend Mengel.

From the first contact with the salesman to the finished product and beyond, this is a first rate company. Great prices along with great customer service. They gave me exactly what I needed to turn in to the HOA, helped me decide on the windows that would best suit my needs and when there was an issue, they went above and beyond to be sure it was fixed, coming out as often as needed to resolve the issue. Highly recommend if you need new windows.

I had replacement windows installed by Mengel Exteriors in 2018. They came with a lifetime warranty and a thirty year transferable warranty. We had a problem with a sash and called Mengel. Brett was very helpful. He ordered the replacement promptly and arranged to install it upon receipt from the manufacturer. He was in and out in no time and resolved the problem. He even made an adjustment to another window that we asked about. The whole experience was a breeze. I highly recommend Mengel Exteriors.

Thanks to the team at Mengel, especially to the installers and Robert for such a fantastic job on our 16 windows.

We met about 5 companies for windows and I couldn’t wait for the process to be over. I can tell you Mengel’s price was the best, and as far as windows go I figured the lifetime warranty speaks for itself. All my research said if the window is good it comes down to the installers. Turns out the people working on our house have been installing with Mengel for over 30 years.

After the install the inside of my house was spotless and they didn’t ask me lift a finger. Just wonderful hard working people. I really appreciate their attention to detail and timeliness. They even put my window unit back in the window after the install so I didn’t have to do it again. That was just super kind of them. Thank you.

The whole process went exactly on time with everything from when they promised our windows to be in, when the installers would arrive and everything else. Robert was so nice answering my texts as we were getting excited for their visit.

For anyone looking for someone to do their window job, I can confidently say bring this team out. If they say they can do it, you can trust in that. You can easily over pay for windows and it’s so important to spend your money with businesses that honor their promises, pay attention to detail and ultimately treat their team and customers well.

For example of great customer service: Robert did a final walk through with me and he found a spot that we will need to clean up a little caulk. Robert, offered for me to keep the remaining 80% payment I owed at this visit until this was done. It’s not even a major problem that we need fixed, but I felt like he has the full support from the company to ensure that we are completely blown away and satisfied with their work. I mean what type of company does that anymore? It’s customer service from the era that people cared. (We paid and I know they will come back to touch it up btw.) Also, Mrs. Mengel returned a phone call I left one day and she was a pleasure to talk to. It feels like a good group of people from every level of the team.

I’ll attach some photos of our home just to show the work they did replacing our wooden windows to vinyl. We kept the windows white to save on cost. But the trim was perfectly matched to our color and wow that’s just awesome. We didn’t loose any glass visibility and their trim work on the outside of the home is second to none when I drive down the street to compare. They really did a great job for us.

Thanks Robert and the Mengel team. Hope you know my appreciation and how much we are grateful for the work you did. I was so nervous about our first big home investment, but now I’m just impressed. We are enjoying bug-less breezes through the screens of our new windows on a wonderful fall day - cheers to all of you.

I have put off getting new windows for way too long. I knew how expensive they would be and I didn't want to deal with the sales process or who to use. My old single pane windows were really starting to look bad and my heating bills were climbing. I had heard about Mengel Exteriors from some friends and noticed their work in my neighborhood. I spoke to Mike Woodson from there and got a quote for 16 of their premium triple pane vinyl windows. I reached out to another company, got their quote, and couldn't believe how much more expensive (and less quality) they were. I guess I was expected to pay their radio ads, their TV ads, and their mailings. Mengel puts their money into the windows. After ordering from Mike with Mengel Exteriors, a team came out to measure all the windows, and in a short time, a date was set for the install. The install team from Mengel was fantastic! They went above and beyond making sure the new windows fit and looked right. I can't believe what a big difference these windows make! On the inside and the outside, they are beautiful! Thank you Mengel Exteriors!
