One of my favorite garden centers! My only suggestion would be to offer free, cold, bottled water on the extremely hot days. It gets especially hot inside their building. I know of one garden center does that and it's much appreciated.

The employees could have been more helpful. They gave up almost instantly, and I won't be returning or recommending this garden center.

Hopefully, they can change for the better!

I have been a customer for a couple of years now and I won’t go anywhere else for my plants and yard. There is a family owned garden center closer to my house, but no one can beat the customer service at Heinz and it is worth the longer drive. Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful during every season!

I recently purchased the Fire Fly flowers, which were advertised to glow in the dark. Unfortunately, they did not perform as promised and failed to glow at all. This was quite disappointing, as I had high expectations based on the product description.
In addition to my disappointment with the product, I attempted to return them and was open to receiving store credit. However, I was informed that returns were not an option, which further frustrated me. Given this lack of customer service and product performance, I will no longer be purchasing my flowers from this store.

Heinz Brothers' is a local treasure for sure and a place that has all of your garden needs, wishes and wants. If you go, be sure to wear your walking shoes because there's so much to see here. The plants are lovely and healthy. Any specimen we've purchased has lasted a long time. I mostly buy the potted baskets, as I have very small balcony garden. Even though, a trip to HB makes me want to have a house with a giant garden. We have gone back time and time again and bought solar lanterns, a small fountain and even a charming wind chime, as well as plants for both inside and out. I'm especially fond of their statuary section.

The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and if you just want to browse, they'll wish you a good time and tell you to enjoy. The last time we were there it was during a terrific heat wave and the staff handed out cold bottles of water. Also, pro-tip, if you're sensitive to heat, go in the morning as in the inside of the greenhouses get a little warmish after awhile.

I walk in and again just know that they are going to take my money! 4 of my wish list indoor plants are in stock. All very healthy. Cebu blue, tricolor tradescantia, silver stripe philodendron and emerald gem homalomena. I'm very very pleased, again, and will be back for more!
*Excuse the picture, new babies always get a Mosquito Bit cleansing

Very nice and very large place to go for your plant and landscaping needs and they have a very large selection of plants. and the few staff we encountered were quite friendly to deal with. We drove an hour from Plainfield to come here for a very specific and not cheap plant, the Firefly Petunia. It was a bit cramped inside and most stock was jammed on vertical multi level carts but not really a big deal. They did have what we came for in stock as we previously called ahead to be sure. Parking was a bit of a mess as we went on a Saturday and parked a few blocks away in the residential area. It was a beautiful day for the minor walk so all was good. The only disappointing thing about the visit was that after spending over $40.00 for a single small plant; they were out of their care guides. "We can't print them out online," we were cheerfully told. Guess what? For over 40 bucks for a small plant, so can you... Thus 4 Star rating.

I’ve gotten so many gorgeous plants here, including my favorite pathos plant that has been thriving for over 2 years. Good prices and huge selection, I can’t wait to go back!

I bought 10 green bean plants only to find out 2 months later rhat they are snow peas. I do not even like snow peas. They are only good in Chinese food and we don't eat Chinese food that often. What am I going to do with 10 snow pea plants. Throw most of them away probably. I will never go back to Heinz. That was a waste of $50. I'll stick with Lowes.

This will be a very long review but I hope everyone takes the time to read it before considering going to this nursery.

I am new to the area. I had a nursery I loved in a different town. I thought Heinz would be my new go to. I have been to Heinz for the summer months but decided to go to Heinz for my holiday decorations. I went yesterday to pick out outdoor planters and a Christmas tree. I found the perfect planter ($200) and went to look for trees. I was being assisted by someone who you could tell was just annoyed that I was taking longer than she hoped to find the perfect tree. I finally found two I was deciding between. I explained that I wanted the tree delivered to my house but I dint need it in a stand, Or set up, or anyone coming inside. All I wanted was a delivery to my front door or driveway. The price on the tag was either me taking it home or the works (stand, set up, etc). So I asked the price for just delivery. She said she’d find out. She left and never came back. I waited around the trees for 10ish minutes and went to the front. I spoke to another lady and she said “it’s on the tag”. I said well I understand but those aren’t either of the options I’m looking for. She said well it would be the price for delivery on the tag. I said that didn’t really seem correct because to drop off in my driveway vs setting the tree up with a stand in my house is a very different amount of services. She didn’t say anything. This is when the manager on duty (Deb) approached. I explained everything and she said “well if you want us to just throw the tree in the car for delivery $35”. The $35 is not the problem. The problem is the tree would have been $300-$400 and you, as the manager, just told me you’d THROW the tree in the car. It was rude. It was aggressive. There was no holiday spirit. It was just really…wrong. I explained that this was really inappropriate and I got a “sorry probably not what I should have said”. Truly dismissive. I asked who the manager was and it was her!!! I couldn’t even speak to someone.

Fast forward I was leaving feeling pretty terrible. I didnt get my tree. Or my Christmas pot. Or anything I was hoping to get. I was treated poorly. And I’m left knowing I don’t want to go back to my local nursery. So I went home. I wrote a lengthy email to the owner of Heinz. Expressing my concerns. Asking for a call just to speak with him. Explain how things could have been better handled. Maybe asking him my questions about delivery. Hoping to solve my concerns. What happens was truly the worst part of this whole experience…

The manager that told me she’d THROW the tree in the car…she responded to the email! She identified herself. Told me she was sorry for the experience but it was because they were still training for the holidays (a very poor excuse because it shouldn’t take training for the holidays to teach the MANAGER professionalism and how to speak to customers) and that the owner told her she could respond. Despite me asking to speak to the owner. He just passed it off to the person I had the poor experience with. It was clear he didn’t care. It was also clear that they didn’t need my business.

Maybe $500-$600 in one trip isn’t a lot of money but if they keep treating customers this way, it will eventually hurt their business. Being kind to your customers shouldn’t be difficult. And if you own a business, you need to be professional enough to take the time to respond to inquiries and complaints. You shouldn’t send the employee that is being complained about to solve it. Because it won’t solve it. It will make the experience worse.

Didn't realize how BIG this nursery is! Set aside some time because you'll be there for awhile looking at everything they have to offer!!! Solid nursery!!

This place is a Gardener's dream! Whatever you need, they probably have it! You want to attract birds? They have bird feeders galore. You want to keep birds off of your fruit trees - they have bird nets. You want a fairy garden, a shade plant for your house, a bistro set for your porch - they have all of that. Sprouting kit, plant light, rain gauge, crop cover - that too. And they have fall/winter decorations including fresh pine.

Great selection of healthy, well-priced houseplants, even in February. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Great nursery with fair prices. However, what really separates them from other nurseries are their knowledgeable employees. If I have a plant care question, these guys are walking encyclopedias of plant care and knowledge. I trust these guys more than Googling answers.

Our first stop when shopping for native perennials. Plants are healthy and well-established, which makes it worth the higher cost.

We enjoy the garden decor section offering a big variety of choices and styles. Statuary is reasonably priced compared with other local nurseries. Good variety of fertilizers, too.

Gift cards available. If you provide the first and last name of the person receiving the card, then it has no expiration date [see clarification below from owner]. ☺️

I love Heinz Bros. I have moved out of state so I don't get in as often as I used to, but I called them the other day and had them send a poinsettia to my Mom. Needless to say, it is absolutely gorgeous and my Mom and Dad are thrilled with it. The gal who helped me was so knowledgeable and patient with me when I ordered. Thank you Heinz Brothers for helping me make the season brighter for my Mom, even though I'm 600 miles away. You guys are awesome.

This place is soo amazing!!! I got everything I was looking for during their 50% off end of season for tropical indoor plants...from jasmine plants to Plumeria to so many new plants in discovered. This place is definitely number 1 for plant nursery. I even saw a cinnamon tree a while back when I was there. So many plants..love this place. Ty.

They have a gorgeous selection with premium prices, but be careful with their sales - if an employee tells you one price and the cash register says another, the cash register will win. An employee specifically told me an item was on sale. When the cash register said otherwise, the employee basically shrugged and said "guess I was wrong," leaving me to either walk away or pay 20% more than expected. To my surprise a manager upheld the decision. Tldr: the plants are beautiful, the customer service could use some work.
