Our lawn was looking very over grown and we had terrible weeds, it took The Yard Barbers one service and our lawn looks brand new and very clean! I could not ask for better service! We have received multiple compliments on our yard since and we highly recommend them to anyone that is in need of yard service. Thank you Yard Barbers!

After a not so great experience with another lawn service, we decided to give Yard Barbers a try. Very impressed. Great and fast communication and service. We will definitely have them come back for all our yard needs.

We use the Yard Barbers for all our lawn care needs (mowing, fertilizing, pest control) and have been very happy with their service! Our son goes out to watch every time they come and they talk to him and are very friendly to him. Shows they are very family oriented. Great communication on when they are coming to provide service as well. Would recommend them to anyone who needs this type of service.

This guy was driving like a complete clown coming into Tea tonight. I wouldn’t do business with them if their customer service is anything like the way they drive their vehicles around.

We have loved having The Yard Barbers and their team mow for us! This is our first summer having someone else mow and it has been a wonderful experience! The office staff is great and helpful when we call in with any questions. Our mowing team has also been top notch with no issues with the quality of mowing we have received!

Signed up for Yard Barbers last year and was excited to get our yard looking great since we just had our second kiddo and I haven’t had time to work on the yard. My only true request was that I wanted the weeds dealt with. Last year they did an okay job but I still had to deal with quite a few dandelions throughout the summer and quite a few thistles. I called and complained and they never offered to come back out and help fix it even though the sales rep told me they would if I was not happy. Then this year they renewed my deal from last year came out to spray and a week later I was overgrown. The grass itself was green so I guess the fertilizer is working but there were weeds everywhere. I called and cancelled and took care of them myself. Very unhappy and would not go back to them. Be wary as what you see for weeds in that photo is only my front yard even after they sprayed for weeds.

Another fantastic Fall cleanup service from The Yard Barbers. Alberto and Raul were so detail oriented, they left my yard spotless. My yard always looks fantastic thanks to the weekly crew. The office staff is amazing too and very prompt at returning messages. I have tried several yard services in Sioux Falls and The Yard Barbers is by far the best. I’m so thankful for their commitment to excellence. I never have to worry about anything getting done properly. Thanks TYB!

Edit: they did end up sending me a check to replace the sump pump hose with a handwritten note apologizing.

Bad communication. I had confirmed wanting to proceed with the quote, so I reached out to the office and they told me I was magically the next on the list. So, the crew started to show up, and hung out around a their vehicles across the street from my house for about 30-40 minutes. There was no one who came to introduce themselves or see if there was anything they needed to watch out for.
Which brings me to next my next point: they SHREDDED the end of my new sump pump hose. And then they left the ends of my sump pump hoses against my foundation. They also knocked the my window flower box down, and did not say anything. I just heard a loud crash, swearing, and then I saw the box on my step the next time I left my house.

Leaf removal-looked great. They did a great job, and were very efficient and considerate.
Day after (today) Wind came up and front yard, driveway and street looks like it wasn’t done.
Do you offer a mini (just front yard) service?

We are new at paying for lawn service and we went with this company trusting that they would do the job that they are hired for.
We hired them to do our front yard only. There are some weeds still there but lot better than they have been.
Going to the side of the house they never ever sprayed it. There are just as many weeds as before if not more.
One of the main reasons we hired them was bc we work more hours and never have time for the yard and our neighbors next to us are not happy with our weeds. So ironically they didn’t even treat the area that we were most excited about! I have called them but have gotten NO reply.
Will probably find someone else now hoping to get in on their rotation. We attached pictures of what it looked like 4
Days after the “spray”

I do not typically write reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience so others can make informed decisions. If you choose to hire this company, I strongly recommend verifying the hours they bill. If you are already a customer, an audit of their invoices may be worthwhile.

The company charged my credit card one day before sending the invoice, which was frustrating on its own, as it prevented me from reviewing the charges beforehand. The initial invoice listed 7.14 hours of labor, totaling roughly $750, for what was essentially weed removal. After questioning the unexpectedly high amount, the company acknowledged that they had mistakenly included drive time and adjusted the bill down to 5 hours of labor.

Fortunately, I have security cameras that showed two employees were on-site for only 1.5 hours, amounting to 3 total labor hours. This means the company originally charged 2.4 times the actual time worked. Because of this discrepancy, I reviewed footage from a separate lawn treatment visit performed on a different day. That technician spent less than five minutes in the backyard and did not appear on the other camera covering half the yard—raising further concerns about performance.

To their credit, the company did refund the 4.14 hours of incorrect labor charges, but only after I provided timestamped screenshots from my security system.

Overall, this experience makes me very uneasy about the accuracy and honesty of their billing practices. I will not be using them again.
