Today was my first time going to Coulter Garden & Nursery. My little boy was with me as well.
As we walked up to admire the huge "chicken/rooster"😊🐓🐔 A kind, smiling employee, who was on break, happily engaged my 5 year old, & didn't hesitate to answer all his questions.
We enjoyed walking around the entire store, & found exactly what we needed at a great price!
We will definitely be back! And a shout out to our new friend Ali for your genuine kindness, and being more than willing to help out!
YAY FOR KIND PEOPLE😉❗ -
The owner, Warren, is amazing!! He is so knowledgeable and so very helpful and doesn't mind taking the time to answer all of your questions. He really helped me out and I will be making sure to do all of my business at Colter gardens because of him!

The employees that work here are very attentive and personable. I always feel welcome and never feel embarrassed for the amount of knowledge I lack when it comes to keeping plants alive. They carry Fertilome products which are perfect for this Texan soil and I never fail to find something perfect for my home.

We were there on May 12th looking for flowers for Mothers Day. We asked someone for the specific flower we were looking for and he directed us to talk with the ladies in the greenhouse part. My wife asked the only lady we could find after 10 min who was in an area that-looked like it was probably for employees only if she worked there to be given the snarky response” I wouldn’t be back here if I didn’t” we walked out immediately out. We will take our business elsewhere.

The service and selection are quite good. Employees are attentive and friendly. It costs more to buy things here, but I find the good service offsets the higher prices. Overall a nice place to shop for gardening supplies, plants and trees.

The staff here is always helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. They always have a huge selection of flowers and trees and can tell you what's best for your home. They also have a great understanding of the Panhandle climate and will help you maximize the health and appearance of your home's lawn and garden.

Purchased a small tree for moms grave. Hand watered it through summer but it still wasn’t enough. It looks like this. Tried getting my money back to replace it but no. Surprising, disappointing but my mom deserved better.
I have been back into your store three times WITH my warrantee, receipt and pics and all I was told was put root stimulator on it! Which I did. I wasn’t trying to get a cash refund I was trying to place a live tree there. The last time I called it was same thing, these trees are extremely drought resistant & we don’t plant now you’ll have to wait until spring. Edited oct 20 -
We bought an Elm tree and a Lotus tree from Coulter Gardens in 2021. (It took a long time to write this review because I could not find any place to write the review on their website.) We paid the extra money to have them plant the trees with a root stimulator and a 5-year Warrantee. The Lotus tree got frost the first winter and most of the tree had died. When I went to Coulter Gardens to talk to them about this tree, "the Manager was extremely rude." He told me they don't cover freezing. I asked him to come and at least look at the tree and see how bad it looks. He told me they don't guarantee the tree will look good. Only that the trunk will be alive so there is no need for him to come look at the tree. I asked him what he expects me to do about all the dead branches and he told me that "I need to trim them myself". I asked him what did I pay all that extra money for if I am supposed to trim it myself? He didn't have time to talk to me and there is nothing he can do.
My wife and I have visited Coulter Gardens many times in the past and were also planning to buy a couple more trees, but I can honestly say that, after this experience and the rudeness of the Manager, "My Wife and I have not visited Coulter Gardens and will NEVER visit Coulter Gardens again." -
We had a frustrating experience today. Went in looking for a specific variety of tree and discovered that every single one (at least a dozen, we thought; perhaps more) was marked sold. We asked a helpful employee if there were any more, and he said no, not until the coming fall. He informed us that the day after the shipment of these particular trees arrived, one man came in and said he wanted every single one Coulter Gardens had, however many that was. The employee thought the man was a large-scale property owner. We asked about CG&N ordering us another tree, or just ordering replacement inventory for the entire shipment that was "gone" in a day. He said no, there was no prospect of that. Seriously? What kind of business operation is that? Letting one person immediately clear out the inventory, with no prospect of replacement for other customers. And before summer even begins, no less. We believe this is extremely poor customer service. We've subsequently found a different tree supplier from which we intend to buy our trees and shrubs in the future.

The nice salesman sold me 2 pecan trees and 2 ranger peach trees. The pecan trees died, and the peach trees were not the same and not looking too good. So much for their 1 year warranty, I will not ever set foot on their property again. I wasted almost 600 dollars for those trees.! And of course all I got was SORRY they are out of warranty.

We have been using them for years. From our Christmas tree to our landscape these friendly folks know what they are doing! Super friendly, knowledgeable, and have a huge selection! Can't say enough nice things about them! And they're guys out in the bush and tree section are top notch!

I took my own plant and asked Janie in the greenhouse if she can help pot it, because I’m not the best plant keeper. She was very helpful, she found the best pot for my plant and gave great advise on how to keep it alive. I will definitely be coming back here!

Alright, so I get it when people come in before closing, but I got a good dirty look from one of the employees and the one behind the counter was on their phone. No acknowledgement that I was in there aside from the dirty look. I was going to be quick, I just wanted a nice little live Christmas tree, but after that, I left about as fast as I came in. Won’t be back most likely. I love shopping local, but if it’s going to be like that, I’ll take my business to Lowe’s.

I have been a customer of Coulter Gardens for many years. For some reason, my Christmas tree was completely dried out within a week after purchasing it. When we contacted Kenneth, he was so kind and said he would replace the tree. I got a beautiful replacement tree and want to give this business kudos. This is what will bring me back year after year.

The people here go above and beyond to help you. Warren, Jim, & Leddy assisted me in picking out beautiful plants for my home and helping me take better care of my trees. I went in thinking I wanted one thing but after talking with them they guided me in picking out greenery that would last. Also, I learned why my trees were not doing well. They are very knowledgeable and generous in sharing information with you. They take a consultative approach and truly care about the success of your landscaping. Thank you!

You don't have to be an expert in gardening if you shop here. I have always received great service from the employees, and they are knowledgeable as well. They have been kind and courteous and more than willing to answer any questions I have. They know the plants that thrive in our area and can steer you in the best options for your needs.
The plant selection is wonderful also. I enjoy browsing and planning/dreaming for future projects. This is a great place to shop if you're looking for personal attentive service and a selection of plants for the Texas panhandle area. -
Great selection. Very clean. Very helpful. Thank you.

Everyone here has always been very knowledgeable and helpful. Many time I have come in with a photo of a plant or flower bloom and they told me what it was and showed me where it was in the store.

I love coming to this place and the staff has always been so friendly and helpful! The tree we bought there is doing well. However, 90% of the flowers that I bought last year, I bought here at the Coulter Gardens Nursery. And I have to say that maybe only 5% did well. The rest of the plants that I purchased did not do well and I am known for having a green thumb so... The plants I bought at Walmart and Lowe's did far better and cost half as much.

Coulter Gardens has an expansive amount of trees, shrubs, houseplants, and bedding plants. Their staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with any and all questions. The greenhouse is very easy to navigate with many signs and help from the employees of that area. The inventory of each year shows variety but they also keep local favorites stocked. I highly recommend them to anyone who is tired of box store plants and fertilizers. Coulter Gardens is the best at keeping my garden and yard looking great.

Not helpful, and very rude! The cashier was practically laying on the counter, and acted like it was really a pain to have to take our money. We won’t be returning!
