This is a great place for variety! We tried starting our vegetable from Lowe's/Home Depot but quickly found their lack of variety to be disappointing. We tried here to see if we could find some other veggies... And found a lot of different varieties and some interesting plants. We also ended up buying some flowers as well and all of it was cheaper than at either Home Depot or Lowe's. There are some plants that are the same price, but I'd venture to say most are the same or less price. We'll definitely go back and see what veggies there are at different times of the year.

Horrible. Literally no customer service whatsoever. Employees were just standing around doing nothing and there were several plants knocked over throughout the store. No one can pick them up because they're too busy standing around doing nothing. You can't ask a question about anything because they act like they can't understand what you are saying. No English speaking here. I won't go back here again.

Great selection and prices. Would recommend checking out. Would have liked the staff to be more willing to help with showing where things are or explain care and other suggestions. Instead it oh ya it's over there (points). Especially to those of us who know zero about plants.

Enjoyed browsing here! Beautiful and healthy plants and blooms galore!

This is close to my home and we have been customers over the years. Today I made the mistake of asking for some assistance: our yard has apparently been taken over by crabgrass and had photos of it on our lawn. In my previous purchases the employees were always so king, and helpful and I mistakenly “assumed” that I would possible be able to get some guidance. 1 male employee said that he only spoke a little English, his female coworker spoke English but had no idea what crabgrass was. I asked if the manager was on duty and she said yes. A male that identified himself as the manager did not understand what I was asking for assistance with. Admittedly I lost my cool at this point, didn’t swear but was so angry I had to leave. I will never set foot on that property again.

Very bad customer service , shady business practices and refusal to help ! what more can i say about this horrific experience! ....the manager even told me to put a bad review on Google and that he didnt CARE ! - I purchased a shrub thinking its a 5 Gallon one as they had misguiding label for 5 Gallon in the 7 Gallon Isle . When i took pics and showed it to the manager at first he refused to REFUND or void the bill , then he obliged for an exchange and later when i got a 3 Gallon (since they ran out of 5 Gallon) I was told that the cashier was on lunch break and i have to wait for over an hour ! Even the guy on the front gate treated me with suspicion and total unprofessional behavior ! Please DONOT shop from this business

I just left the location off of Hwy 249. It was my first and it will be my last time at that location. The customer service at this location is absolutely horrible. I approached the first employee I saw, who was apparently the cashier, near one of the display tables. Before I could finish my question, she immediately told me she didn’t speak English. I asked if there was someone that did and she pointed in a direction where I didn’t see anyone. I waited a few seconds and eventually someone appeared. Although, he spoke English, he was not very helpful. I told him I needed to replace my shrubs. I explained that I needed someone to answer my questions and help me pick out the right shrubs. He simply pointed me to other side of the store where the shrubs were located. What type of manager thinks such poor customer service is acceptable?

Every year my family and I enjoyed Christmas tree shopping. Nice selection! Great Service! This year I feel we were paying service fees for tree cut and fresh cut, and ? Plus ? and ? .. I felt the constant "upsale" while I was at check out was excessive. Hopefully next year we will have a different experience. Looking forward to seeing you guys next year. I would certainly recommend!

I visited yesterday and got really, really good service. The minute I drove up, someone was there to help me choose what kind of cart to get based on my needs. Once inside, I asked a cashier where the boxwood was, and he left his post to show me and help me load them. I was also interested in Italian cypress, and he knew the sale price without looking and assisted with that choice, too. I was really happy with the plants, the prices and the people.

Terrible customer service! Check your receipt before you leave the store!!! We were charged for 2 plants when we only bought one. We did not realize we were double charged until we were done with project and found the receipt because we did not want the one we did buy and wanted to try to see if they would work with us. I understand not letting us return the plant but they should at least either given us another plant or money back for the one we did not have on our cart that they charge us for. Lesson learned: double check receipt before you leave the store and don’t buy anything you might not need or want to exchange or return. That is their policy and I understand the policy, but i want to get my money back or a plant for what we did pay for. If you want an amazing customer service experience go to Plants for All Season on Hwy. 249. I did a great review for them on Google!

All of their plants look really healthy! I was pleased with the selection. Not any people around to answer any questions about plants though, just cashiers.

This garden center is very clean and organized but the cashiers are very rude, don’t say a word, seem unhappy to check me out.
So sad
Update: Had yo go again the next day to buy more plants, different personal …. All very polite and nice.
Not nice of me to put a bad review for 2 rude cashiers, I really like the place, it’s so clean and organized and will go again. -
I bought plants and potting soil
The employee followed us to the car looking confused. He had been asked by staff to get the soil.
Spoke no English.
Just shook his head, left.
Did not come back.
Went to look for him and he was helping another customer. Start to get e
No English spoken or understood.
Dissatisfied. -
Steady supply of healthy commercial plants year-round

I will give this business five stars for the care and quality of the product but 3 stars for the customer service. I recommend you either go in knowing what you want or using Google to read about whatever plant you’re looking at.

Our family was picking out our Christmas tree. We decided on one at 8:55pm. They close at 9:00pm. They asked us to leave because they were about to close. They lost out on $300+ of business. Their trees looked very poor this year. Perhaps the brutal summer we had? We should have gone to Plants For All Seasons as usual. Get what you pay for. They close at 6:00pm this Christmas season so we went elsewhere for that reason. BUT! We will get an earlier start and find our perfect tree! Not at Houston Garden Center...

It's such a shame.
I have purchased many plants from multiple locations of Houston Garden Center in the past, but I'm afraid that has come to an end.
Let me explain.
They always have a big sign out front telling about their sales. This time, the sign said "70% Off ALL Trees and Shrubs." Since I needed a Camelia, I stopped in to get one. When I checked out, they would not honor the sale, saying that Camelias were not included.
I purchased it anyway, because I needed it and was tired. I thought that maybe I would speak to a manager later in the week.
Nope!
The number for the Tomball location goes to voicemail and the mailbox is full.
So ...
I called the corporate office.
I have no idea who I was talking with, because she wouldn't say. However, she did tell me that Camelias are not included in ALL Trees and Shrubs. When I asked her how a Camelia is not a shrub, she just said, "I don't know, but they're not included." I suggested that, perhaps they should say that on the sign, to which she replied, "OK."

I really like their plants, but I won't be shopping there anymore. There are too many other great places that have great customer service, and are honest. -
I have bought Poinsettias from Houston Garden Center for the past 10+ years, never an issue.
This year bought 4 (2 different days) and they won't stay in the pot. It appears they had just been re-potted with about half the dirt needed to securely keep the plant in the pot. As soon as I pull the wrapper off, the plants fell over in the pot.
For now, they are Beautiful Poinsettias but we will see if they survive.
Glad I wasn't giving as Gifts directly from store.
PS. I still have 2 from last year that are turning red. -
This is a good nursery. They had a wide variety of shade plants, outdoor plants, trees, garden plants and pots. Some of their tomato plants looked kind of sad but it’s also August haha. Excited to come back!

Love getting my plants here and my girls love looking around at the ones I won't buy. Haha

Bought mulch and since we're older we went there because they load it for you. The first time great. When we went back for more, no one was there to load it. There was an elderly man loading his own in front of us too
