New staff on the floor without experienced staff to answer simple questions. Fortunately experienced staffer shows up and was helpful. Cashier stuffed plants into one bag, so when I got home there were multiple branches broken. What is the point of taking the time to select the best of the bunch if a callous cashier is going to mangle them?

Manager not there. Whom I believe was the assistant manager eventually made it right. I was peeved yet she remained professional. They have select, hard to find vegetables and tomatoes.

My favorite place to go in Lincoln to buy plants. The employees have answers to my questions, and what they don’t know, they have been willing to look up for me. Great selection, great atmosphere, gorgeous plants and other gardening necessities.

Such a great place! The people that work there are always so helpful, and they have a nice array of plant to select from! I'm only ever disappointed when I can't fit plant purchases into my budget :)

Your disregard for my repeated inquiries regarding the tree planting is completely unprofessional. I have called daily, all day, for over a month, and not once has anyone answered or returned my messages. Kyle's single voicemail is insufficient, and my attempts to reach him have been met with silence. This lack of communication is unacceptable and I demand immediate resolution to this matter.

I'm not sure what is happening to Earl May. They used to have beautiful plants for reasonable prices. Now, their plants don't look healthy at all and they are literally 3x the price of the same plant that is larger and in better condition at Campbell's. Their faux plants don't look real and are outrageously priced. Their garden decor is also way over priced. My boyfriend and I left without making a purchase and we both agreed not to return.

Received very poor customer service today...I bought a $30 planter of Pansies last Thursday, put them out on Friday afternoon, on the porch protected by the over-hang, and they ALL died by Saturday!! EM would not stand by them when returned. Maybe they should not have been out over night but how much do you suppose replacing 6-8 pansies for good customer service would have cost Earl May?

I normally have really good luck finding plants at Earl May. This year the selection was not as good and there were many dead or dying plants. I will stop back later in the season and see if the selection has changed any. The prices were a bit higher here than other nurseries. I did purchase one plant and had a quick and easy check out.

I like Earl May just fine. Their selection is always disappointing, and their plant prices are always higher than I think they should be. I tend to buy a lot of my gardening supplies there. At least those are priced appropriately. They hire a lot of teenagers, which is great, but make sure you get a full time adult employee if you have questions. I've heard the young whipper-snappers offer advice that was so off that I had to interrupt and correct them. ;)

This late afternoon, the employees went above and beyond !!
They helped my grandsons and I find the perfect pumpkin plant!
But more importantly, they called a locksmith for this gramma when she accidentally locked her keys, phone and wallet in the vehicle!! 🤓
    Thank you so much !!
We'll be back for sure!! 😃

I've been an Earl May customer for decades. They have quality plants and supplies. If I ever need a question answered or a guarantee honored, I can just show up and there is always a knowledgeable staff person available to help.

Super friendly and helpful staff! They were super accommodating when I came to look for and ended up buying a Shinseiki pear tree (price was better than competitors and it had fruit growing on it already!). Great selection of plants. I'll be coming back to look for a Lapins cherry tree and/or a Persimmon tree.

Bought a small plant for my office. They were very helpful in suggesting various plants suitable for an office environment. Thanks!

Since moving to the Wedgewood neighborhood 5 years ago now...Earl May's has been my go to for all my gardening needs. Their plants are always healthy and guaranteed. they also have a unique selection of houseplants. I also like that if you purchase a house plant and planter, they will repot it for free with the right soil blend appropriate for the plant. I was recently helped by an employee by the name of Paige, who I bothered with a question while she was occupied with another task. She happily stopped what she was doing and proceeded to assist me with questions regarding some of their stocked houseplants. When I had a question that she wasn't able to answer, she asked for assistance from another employee named Sean who was was able to assist me. I wanted to shine light on this specific interaction because at the time, the store was very busy. Both of the employees that I interacted with were in cheerful moods and the communication between Paige and Sean (who I eventually found out is the store manager) was very professional considering the stress in the store at the time. Not once did I feel rushed during my interaction and I got all the answers plus more that I needed. I will continue to use this store location as my default for all of my garden/landscaping materials and needs.

I like shopping at Earl May Garden Center in Lincoln, NE. Their employees are very knowledgeable and helpful when selecting plants either garden or succulents. Thank you, Earl May Garden center, for making Lincoln a greener city!

I got into an argument instigated by the store manager on Sunday morning, November 10 when I was trying to find an employee who could give me some advice – even if it was just a “yes or no” answer about using some water to help compact soil around a flower bulb. It was unbelievable.
I was in the area outside the showroom in the back. Before I could ask the question, he basically ordered me to get out of that space. At first I thought he was making a joke until I figured out that he was serious at which point I exploded and gave him a piece of my mind and he in turn escorted me from the store.
I’m past 70 years old and I can’t recall ever having had an experience like this in my work life or my personal life. This guy looks to be about half my age. He was tactless, obnoxious and impertinent. Where I worked, somebody acting this way would have been disciplined with an official reprimand or a dismissal. I may yet contact the main office of Earl May or drive over there and find his boss and tell him about this.
There’s enough competition in the nursery business in the Lincoln area that that it’s probably not a good idea to treat the customers like dogs. Who knows, maybe this is the way this guy typically behaves.
I’ve been an Earl May customer since I moved to this area in 2000. Over the years I’ve planted so many trees and shrubs that there’s not much room left except for a flower or two. I know my way to the other nurseries and the statewide arboretum.

What a cool place! My daughter got me a gift card to Earl May for Mother’s Day, but the are no Earl May centers in my home area. I had to wait until I visited her to used my gift card. I love this garden center. Beautiful and unique home and garden items are in abundance at fairly reasonable prices. I walked out after spending twice the value of my gift card. Just too many great choices, but I narrowed it down to a beautiful fall collection in one pot and some ornamental peppers to replace some that succumbed to the summer heat.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had in a horticulture store such as this. They pretend to care about you as a customer but then role their eyes or blow you off like you don't exist as a customer. They sell products at over 20% above markup and have outrageous prices on plants. I'd rather buy my supplies on Amazon and grow my own transplants. I will never come back here again.

I don’t understand businesses that would rather lose a customer than help one. My new fern was looking bad after a few weeks and on inspection I see that the center appears brown and “eaten”. Then i noticed black worms all throughout the plant. (I spent $39.99 on this plant and bought several other plants at the time as well.) I pulled off a dozen 2 inch worms before I realized this plant was a goner. I called to ask if there was a guarantee on my purchase.
She checked with the manager and returned to say no. No guarantee on our annuals. Even with a receipt.
I’ll take my business elsewhere from here on out.

Purchased two Perennials with a $50 gift card. The gift card was given to purchase a plant in memory of a passing relative. This following year the plants never returned leaving a bare area in our flower bed. Since this was a gift card, had no receipt. The clerk doing her job advised she could not provide a replacement without a receipt. In place of the original area, planted some begonias for $2.99 from a big box store. Will no longer shops this location.

I am inexpressibly angry. I just got a new plant and pot from this location, it was struggling to retain moisture due to not enough soil, so I brought it to be repotted (a free service when you buy the plant there). This took a couple of days, and when I pick it up they had cut all but one leaf off of what was previously dozens claiming they were ‘dead’ (they curl in to retain moisture under stress). Very unhappy and do not recommend anyone take their plants here, as they did not even ask me before trimming this plant and have now ruined what could have easily been nurtured back to full health.
