Restored our home on Baton Rouge after the 2016 devastating flood. House had 5 and a half feet of water. Our house looks fantastic. We were one of the first homes to be reoccupied. We cannot thank Alfonso enough!!!.

I had called to schedule an estimate for a tear-down and rebuild for my sunroom. The appointment for the estimate was scheduled for MLK day (01/18/2021), because I had that day scheduled off. I had representatives from Castillo Builders call me not once, but twice to confirm the appointment for 1/18/2021 for 9am only to be completely blown off that day. No call. Nothing. It was only after I called an hour after the scheduled time that morning that someone apologized and stated that they would not be able to honor they appointment they, again, confirmed. The reason they gave me was that someone couldn't get a rental car. A different person called later and gave a completely different reason why they couldn't keep the appointment. Completely unprofessional. One would think that if you couldn't honor an appointment, that you would call ahead of time, or at least at the appointment time to say as much so you aren't wasting the other party's time.

Mistakes happen though. First impressions are important, but sometimes things happen. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. So I rescheduled. They asked if they could come later that week. I said that I was only off on MLK day, that's why I scheduled the appointment for that particular day. I work in healthcare during a worldwide pandemic. I'm working all day. We agreed to reschedule for the following Saturday (1/23/21) for 3:30p, which would give me enough time to get home after my shift. Again, no call; no show. They have wasted my time not once, but twice. It is now Tuesday morning (1/26/21) and I finally get a phone call from someone from the company. It is the same guy that had confirmed both appointments and called to apologize and reschedule the first appointment. He told me he just got some notice regarding my appointment and was calling to apologize and reschedule.

I would consider myself a patient man. Yet, I found this behavior was incredibly rude and unprofessional. It's unbecoming of a company that I had considered to be professional based on previous reviews and had done good work based of their portfolio. I just told the man that I was no longer interested and that I would find a different company to do business with that wouldn't habitually waste my time.

EDIT: I received a follow up from the company apologizing for the service. It came across as sincere, so I am willing forgive. I don't have any days off in the near future, but I stated I will call them when I get some time off.

I am impressed with the quality work done by this crew. As a first time home builder, I wasn't sure what to expect, but they were honest and transparent about everything so I was able to make decisions and stick within budget. It was a positive experience and my house is great! Thanks!

Hired Castillo Builders to replace some rotted wood on the exterior of my home. They did great work in a very timely manner for a great price. Cant wait to work with them again.

They worked extremely well with my specific requests for my FROG project, had lots of good suggestions for tweaks and improvements as the project went on, and had the best bid even when factoring in coming to the Northshore to do the work.

We used Castillo Builders to make some repairs caused by Hurricane Zeta. they were quick and efficient and worked with us to make sure that all of the repairs that needed to happen were done without going over budget. they were also incredibly communicative and helpful throughout the process.

Castillo Builders had repair my foundation edge crack remove and clean as needed and paint the entire wood section below the window and caulk and seal entire double window area and edges and I highly recommend it for the good service and good work thank you

Castillo Builders was recommended by a colleague when I needed a house leveled. They were timely and the quality of work was fantastic. Leveling process was done ahead of schedule and they made it easy for me. I plan on using them again for future projects.

I hired them to put new roof on my rental property in uptown New Orleans and needed it completed within one month (by the end of July 2021). I was concerned it might not get done in time due to the non-relenting daily rainstorms, but we eventually caught a break from the rain and Wade got the job done in two day and came in on time and on budget. The roof looks great and the workmen did a very good job of cleaning up afterwards. I have also looked into having them replace all the old wiring in this old apartment duplex and the person they sent over to give me a quote seemed very knowledgeable on just how to get it done in just a few days and to consolidate electrical boxes and wire runs so that looks better after than it does now. I own a property management business and worked with Castillo Builders on a large project in the Marigny replacing two big gallery decks, roofs, drainage, etc. It was a complicated job on a historic building from the 1850's and the end result was fantastic. The owner Alphonso and his team was a pleasure to work with.

I've used a number of general contractors over the years. When things take a bad turn with a contractor, you really get to see what their character is.

Castillo Builders has great character and takes responsibility for delivering quality.

I hired them to do some work, and we had some problems with what was done. Instead of shifting blame, Castillo Builders acknowledged their responsibility and did EVERYTHING it took to make it right, even doing some extra work to fix things that weren't in the contract.

The character they displayed is why they're the first folks I call when I need more work done.

I normally do not do reviews but my experience with Castillo builders was the absolute worst experience I’ve had and the owner just called me thinking he was talking to another client and didn’t even know who I was! Where do I start!!! First, I called Castillo cause I needed a quote on a bathroom and kitchen remodel. The admin said she would have a project specialist reach out to me in order to schedule an appointment. Two weeks later, I get a call back saying they have had to fire admins recently and wanted my business. I was speaking with a Miss Shannon or Sharon! So I said fine but I already had other contractors waiting my call for final approval to start. She wanted to come right away to get me the quote! She did not show to the meeting and called to tell me she locked herself out of her house so we rescheduled. She didn’t show to the next one and wanted to reschedule again! Again a no show but I did get a call from another admin that apologized and said that Sharon had a medical emergency. So they sent the owner Alfonzo or whatever his name is. Instead of take any measurements he did nothing but TALK about himself and his company how I must have chose them cause they had such great reviews and blah blah blah! I was as nice as I could be but instead of listen to what I wanted cause I had already gone through it all with other contractors he attempted to tell me what would be better! Finally once it was all done, still no measurements, he said he would get me the quote by that night! Guess what!!! That didn’t happen! It’s been another two weeks and he calls and he’s like I wanted to follow up to see if you got the quote and I was like what quote? He said he sent the quote two days after we spoke and that he and my husband went over everything! I said “I don’t have a husband are you sure your taking to the right person?!” He was like oh oh I’m working right now and I must have miss spoke! I said Alfonzo I received nothing and j called and texted your personal number with no call or text back two weeks ago! He said “Oh I’m so sorry but you chose us for a reason and it’s cause we have such great reviews and we do such a great job!” I mean he had the audacity to try to sell me on his company over and over and over! I simply said “I’m sorry but if this is how you conduct business then I do not want to do business with you!”

I am telling you that this is 100% not the company to go with at all! Their professionalism is not good! They don’t call back or give quotes timely and so I can only imagine how horrible the project would go! Do NOT use this company! Way better companies out there!

Great company to hire on and do our roofing. We had issues with our solar panel company not giving us accurate timeframes, and Wade/Castillo Builders were able to work around the short notice we were given. Pricing was fair and the roof looks fantastic. Honest, straightforward and no false-upselling of useless services or materials. Will definitely reach out to Castillo Builders for future renovations and repairs!

Great experience! Called a few contractors but from day one working with Wade they were the clear choice. Professional, courteous, and fair prices they were great. They remolded our kitchen as well as paint/texture baseboards/moulding through the house etc. Even when things came up that were out of our control, they quickly had work arounds and finished when they said they were with great job well done.
