Last week my AC went out and after the HVAC folks were here to give me the bad news - needs new compressor - I realized that some of the circuit breakers were out and not engaging, including my refrigerator! In a wee panic I called Cook Electric for help. As luck would have it Dan and Dave were finishing up a job near by and were over within 10 mins! By that time I had sort of figured out the problem (it involved a sub panel) but I was grateful to have them there to confirm what had happened. Have used them in the past to install an exterior 240v outlet and found them to be very capable and communicative.

This company will work on a "time and materials" basis, unlike another I had a quote from. Final cost was less than half the other quote.

I recently purchased a home that had Lutron lighting that was not working properly. Brad arrived, updated and corrected old settings. He was very knowledgeable about the whole system taking the time to explain and set it up so that my home now has comfortable lighting. He also too took the time to help me understand how to use the Lutron application on my phone to be able to change anything if needed. He was very professional and kind and I recommend this company highly.

I haven't even chose Cook Electric yet for my basement work needed, but all I have to say is that Norman is an absolute gentleman and extremely cool to speak with. I know I will be choosing him and Cook electric for the work I need to get done simply based on his attitude compared to other companies who have been out to give me an estimate. Cook Electric responded quickly to an emergency situation due to a lightning strike to our house. There were many electrical issues due the lightning hitting our house. Chuck was so helpful in attempting to get us back to normal. He offered to look at our air conditioning unit which was not working. He sincerely tried to get us up and running and back to normal. Unfortunately, the a/c unit was badly damaged and needs our HVAC company to repair it. He even looked at our Verizon router to get our internet back. That was also damaged beyond repair. He replaced damaged GFI outlets, as well as damaged smoke detectors that were fried by the lightning. He was concerned about our safety, making sure all smoke detectors were working properly. He was efficient, a pleasure to have in our house and very neat and respectful of our home. We have used Cook Electric before and would highly recommend them to anyone that needs an electrician.

Very responsive, punctual and professionally competent. Technicians were able to identify cause of electric malfunction that would not, in my opinion, be evident to the average DIY'er or less experienced electrician. They also quickly identified two defective switches and replaced them. They were well equipped, had the type/color of switches needed on their truck; and ensured that everything was in full working order before wrapping up the visit. I will definitely call them again for any future electric repair needs.

Late last year Norm came to my home and installed a battery backup on my sump pump. Recently my pump was not acting correctly. I contacted Cook thru their email template form at 5 in the evening. Norm was on my front porch at 10 the next morning, corrected the failed piece quickly and pleasantly and at no charge. Cook is a pleasure to work with. I've used Cook a bunch of times and they never disappoint! They trouble shoot and problem solve to get the job done. They are always polite, kind and helpful! Just had Chuck and Matt out here today, gave them a to do list and they worked right through it with ease. Can't say enough good things!

The lights in the range hood, with a 125v to 12v transformer in the circuit, stopped working, interfering with our ability to cook our evening meal without using a flashlight. I called Cook Electric. Kathleen answered the the phone and took down a description of the job. She understood just what I was talking about and said luck was with us - Norman and Jason were with her and planning to leave. Their project had been rained-out. They arrived at my house in 15 minutes and in less than 10 minutes had analyzed the problem and concluded that the transformer had burned out and diagnosed why it had burned out. They explained the problem to me very clearly.

They had an identical transformer on their truck and installed it quickly. They also identified and corrected a problem in the circuit they believed caused the old transformer to fail. The amount of care they took in making sure the work area was left clean, neat and safe was exceptional. They were finished in less than 1/2 hour.

Quick service today to swap out a breaker. Leonard was highly knowledgeable and did a great job. Glad I could support a local small business after hearing so many ads on WRNR (ageing myself). Will recommend.

We worked with Larry and his team to have electric installed in our shed. Larry came out and reviewed the job, then gave us an estimate shortly after. He was kind, professional, and great with communicating during the entire process. Nick and team were also very professional and competed the job in a timely manner. Cook’s Electric is the best! Chuck succeeded in connecting my new well pump and pressure tank when others could not. He kept at the task and came up with a solution.
