Constraction reviews in Baltimore, Maryland

My experience with DiBello Roofing was great from start to finish. From the initial estimate by Tim to the final inspection - I couldn't ask for a better outcome. I replaced my roof, gutters and downspouts at a very fair price and highly recommend DiBello for their professionalism and responsiveness.

1st thing. The workers did an awesome job. I had my roof and sliding glass door done. They came out looked at my room gave me an estimate for all. I told them I needed plywood, I didn't know how much needed to be replaced. I mentioned i didn't like getting any extra fees at the end. After about 2 weeks they had my roof done. After about 1month. I had to call and ask about the sliding door. They said soon. Should be about a week. 2 weeks go by I called again and she said I must be able to read minds, they had just come in. Got the door done, again perfectly. After almost 2 month of my roof getting done I get a change order bill. Then I get a few email and phone calls about me paying it. I told him I needed to fined 1500$ I don't have that laying around....... .Update!!! Apparently I took over 30 days to pay the change order. But don't call me and ask me to remove this review. Mr Phil was his name. He told me to remove or leave it but that he would cancel the review. Well Mr Phil. Why call me and ask. Just cancel it. Great doing business with you.

The Phil DiBello Roofing Company is very professional and friendly. They came out gave us an estimate and explained what work needed to be done. There was no pressure. We have agreed to have the work done by them!
-
Great service before, during and after installation of our new roof. We highly recommend them.

Wet walls in a closet after recent snow made me worry my roof may be leaking. I called Phil DiBello as they had installed the roof 7 years ago. They came the next morning to inspect the closet and the roof. No evidence of leakage was found. The cause was likely condensation but they added caulk along the split level roof line just to be sure. I really appreciate their quick response and taking the extra measure to ease my concerns.

Tim was very professional, prompt, informative He listened and helped me with my decision making. Office staff were polite. Workers Moses and Oliver and there crew were on time and efficient. Gave a recommendation to three of my neighbors and a relative.

I had quite a few shingles blow off as well as some of the protective sheathing, and a pretty good storm was pending in about 3 days. They had someone out to look at it that same afternoon and a crew out to repair it the next day. The quote was reasonable and the job was well done. I would recommend them.

Really good experience! We had a roof leak and couldn't determine the cause of the issue. They came out and identified it in minutes, and then scheduled the repair within the next few days. It's rained and we haven't had any leaks since! Very professional and nice.

Our experience with Phil Dibello roofing has been outstanding. They put a new roof on our house in Edgemere several years ago and when we had a shingle loose after a storm they were right out to fix it and when my dad who is in his 90s needed a new roof I didn't hesitate to recommend them. Mike came out and he was awesome. Dad was onboard to go with a new roof. We had contacted them again this week as there was some fascia that was loose ...... Mike came out and sent a crew out the next day to fix it for Dad who is a 92 yr old army veteran. Thank you so much Phil Dibello roofing..... Our go to for all roofing problems.

Don’t use Phil Dibello roofing if you’re looking for honesty, communication, and an accurate quote. They did show up when expected, and the end result was ok. However, they added extra work with no prior approval even though I specifically asked to be notified of any extra, and was at the home the entire time. The foreman told me in person at my home that “The decking is all good, there are some small knot holes if you’d like us to repair them.” I told them no as I’m working with a strict budget. He assured me it was all good. The job was completed to my satisfaction, they cleaned up and left. I then receive the bill, and there are extra charges for wood. I told the office that I was assured there was no need to replace any wood. They replied by sending pictures of the tiny pieces of wood they replaced. It appears to me that the crew damaged the wood while doing the removal of the old shingles. The wood was not discolored, or holed, and you could see where the adjacent pieces were still quite new looking inside. I paid the additional, and told them I would express my displeasure in reviews. All I asked for was honesty, and that was too much apparently. Also, the office, salesman, and crews do not communicate. Whatever the office was told was never relayed to the salesman and crew, and vice versa. I would not recommend this company.
UPDATE: 1 week after job completion, and Mike (One of the owners) from Phil Dibello roofing called me. He said he was sorry I was displeased. He asked me to change my review because “It says we’re dishonest, and that’s just not true.” Long story short, one of us is lying, and I know for certain it isn’t me. By “They’re dishonest” I mean the company as a whole. If your representative tells a lie while representing you, you too are guilty of lying. I cannot honestly say that Mike, or Phil Dibello themselves are dishonest, but their company is by virtue of their representative, dishonest. Not only did they not tell me about the additional work knowing I was on site for that very reason, but after the fact said I was mistaken, and that was not what I was told. It was such a small amount of money that it wasn’t the price, it’s the principle. If your representative tells your customer there will be no extra cost, there better not be. When that became the case, they insisted that I was lying. They said “I misunderstood”, but when I told them that “I am certain that was what he told me.” They didn’t believe me, because the price stayed the same. Therefore, I must be lying. Mike also suggested I look at the other reviews to see how decent they are. I did so. There are a number of reviews saying the company reps are rude, and inattentive. I can’t say the reps were rude to me, but Mike certainly was. Asking me to change my review even after disputing whether what I told him was true. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t say I’m not telling the truth, and say I should tell the world that you’re telling the truth. Obviously we both think we’re right. I paid the bill, and I get to express my displeasure with my review. If you doubt anything I’m telling you, I can only swear that this is the truth, you can choose to believe me or not. -
I would highly recommend Phil DiBello Family Roofing. I've worked with them a couple of times in 2024 with roofing and windows and can honestly say they are a top-notch company to work with! Mike, Kimberly, and the crew were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. I really appreciate Mike's knowledge on a decision I needed to make on an Attic Fan before replacing my shingles, his suggestion was right on!

DiBello roofing was so easy to work with, reasonably priced and extremely thorough. They communicated with us clearly about the entire process and what variables we may run into. All said and done, the roof looks fantastic! I would highly recommend DiBello for any roofing needs

It was a large roof finished in one day. Best quote out of three we got. Great work, product and the site was cleaner than before the work was done. Would and have recommended them to others needing a new roof.

I had a big roofing job to do and was very nervous about who should do it. I spent a good 18 months getting estimates, talking to people, reading reviews. I learned a lot.
My roof was perfectly solid, but UGLY. It was an old, much-painted metal roof over the original, 100-year old cedar shakes. I was just so tired of looking at it, but I knew that removing both layers of roofing and replacing it would be both costly and a huge pain. I dreaded it.
I looked and looked at roofing, and decided to go with Owens Corning. I found a color in their Duration Designer series that is simply gorgeous.
I got estimates from 6 companies. The highest was $62,000. The lowest was $16,000. That's quite a gap. The other 4 were all fairly close, coming in at right about $24,000.
I was turned off by big, high-pressure companies who quoted clearly ridiculous numbers only to start lowering the price when I started laughing. That tells me you were going to take advantage of me if I didn't call you on it and that's a big NO.
So once I knew about what a reasonable price was, I started looking at the people involved. I wanted a local, family owned business. And that's what I got.
We had some bumps. My husband became seriously ill and had to be hospitalized on the Friday before the Monday start. I didn't want to cancel an entire week's work on them, so I told them to go ahead. He remained in the hospital that entire week and I was either with him there or at work. That meant that no one was home for the bulk of the job. In retrospect, I wouldn't do that again. I would want to be there during the chaos and to look everything over at the end. That doesn't mean I don't or didn't trust them, just that one or two things that needed correcting could have been caught sooner.
But in the end, after I had time to look at everything and spoke with Kimberley and Mike, they handled my concerns (Just aesthetics, new roof, very old house. Some damaged siding, bumpy caulk visible above my front porch, nothing R/T the function of the roof but little things that had to be fixed.) and got it all done to my satisfaction. Really, they were extremely understanding. It was an awful week, I was very stressed and worried and they couldn't have been kinder.
The roof is stunning. I've gotten many compliments and it makes me smile every time I look at it. In the rain, it looks like slate. On sunny days, it looks like weathered wood. From any angle and in any light, it's perfect.
Thank you, DiBello Roofing, for your kindness and patience. Thank you most of all for my roof! Now I need to decide on the perfect color to paint my house to showcase this masterpiece. -
If I were to limit my review of PHIL DiBELLO FAMILY ROOFING to just ONE sentence, this would be it: "Everything that I was told would take place (by Mike) happened EXACTLY how & when I was told it would happen, and all magnificently!" But let me tell you more...
Mike met me right on time on Monday am, 10/7. He was no-nonsense, and promptly gave me the details regarding the total scope of the job including materials being ordered, delivered, and when work would begin. He also sent the estimate promptly, and I choose to go with DiBello for a number of reasons which really all added up to this: Phil DiBello roofing are experts in the business, they've been around for a long time (60+ years?), Mike "gave it to me straight" and not being a roofer by trade, I considered DiBello to be my clear choice of the four (4) I contacted.
As I've mentioned, I chose wisely. Last Friday Mike called me to tell me the materials were being delivered that day and the work would take place on Monday (now 2 days ago.) On Monday, the work began and ended, and the result is a NEW HOME!! WOW, did that roof exceed my expectations...and still does!! I am looking at a whole different house now, and I cannot stop smiling! And again, it took ONE WEEK from signing the contract to this whole new look being a reality!
I told Mike all of this, and I assure all who read this that whenever I need any roofing work done, I will ONLY use DiBello Roofing.
I've attached a 'Before & After' photo for the visual evidence...that new roof is stunning, isn't it?! -
Had a great experience. They told me exactly what they were going to do and how much it would cost, and a couple days later it was done. No further leaks, as of now a couple weeks later, so hooray!

I am delighted with the service I received from Phil Dibello for my new roof. I was scheduled quickly and saved quite a bit of money compared to another estimate I received. My new roof is beautiful. It was completed in one day. Clean up was great.

I had a roof first installed when i bought the home 27 years ago.The shingles you installed were for 20 years I got 7 extra years out of them. When i had a leak over the kitchen you were there the next day to fix the problem. My wife told me to check out other roofers when i was getting the job completed again; But there’s only one roofer that i trusted and had you installed a 50 year shingle for the bad storms we are experiencing in the last several years The job turned out excellent, the material was and the crew that installed was excellent. My wife and I thank you for the excellent work.

DiBello is the best!
