We were really happy with Lou and the team at Common Ground. Not only did they do a great job on our electric work, but they also interfaced with BGE and the City on our behalf to make the process as smooth and efficient as possible. They were great communicators and super friendly as well. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend to others!

Common Ground Electrical came out to my house and quickly diagnosed the issue I was having. They quickly fixed but also spent the time to explain the issue which was welcoming. A very nice group that also has very reasonably priced services. They are experts and I am happy to have received their service. My next engagement for electrical services will most certainly be completed by them. Highly recommended.

I've had several excellent experiences with the team at Common Ground Electrical. They are always professional, courteous, and efficient. They had no issues diagnosing and explaining the issues I was having with a circuit that kept being overloaded, as well as an outlet that needed to be replaced. They came up with a solution for the circuit that prioritized safety, but also was aesthetically pleasing, and reasonably priced. The work was done fast, in the span of a few hours, but I have no doubts of the quality. I would gladly recommend this company to anyone who needed electrical work done in their home. Thanks Common Ground!!

I can't recommend Common Ground Electric enough! Stu and Jacob have been out to my house three times in the past three weeks, and each visit has been nothing short of exceptional. They are extremely responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and polite; everything you could ask for in an electrician. No matter the job, they take the time to explain everything clearly and ensure the work is done right. It's rare to find such reliable and skilled professionals, and I will never not call them for electrical work.

Just so pleased with Common Ground. I called three local companies. The first one gave a verbal quote without taking a look (it's hard to get a read on the expertise of the company/vibe sight unseen), the other was kind and knowledgeable but 3x as expensive. I know that larger operations sometimes cost more to make a small job worth their while, but, I would have rather them told me before they sent someone over. Also, I am not an inexperienced person with small electrical work around the house and the honey do lists. So, having a company come by and be knowledgable, and not asssume I wasn't, was a plus. Common ground was our Golidlocks choice, and let me tell you why: a) easy to communicate with via email, phone, and text (and would happily move between modalities to fit my accessibility and access to communications) b) up front with cost, clear about their approach, and honest about expectations/outcomes c) fairly priced d) high quality work e) expedient f) excellent vibes g) professional h) came prepared i) cleaned up after themselves j) protected our floor and furniture without being asked. Do yourself a favor and hire Common Ground. 100% recommended.

If you hire Common Ground, you might be shocked by their work. We hired them to upgrade our electric panel in August 2023. Their quote came in around $6.75K. We also got a quote from Clinton Electric, which came in at $7K. We like to support small businesses, and also save money, so we opted for Common Ground.
We immediately regretted this decision. Here's why:
1. When they were installing new line on the exterior of the house, the younger brother could see our neighbor in her upstairs home office, at work and on a call, and yelled "Hey neighbor!" repeatedly until he got her attention.
2. They drilled a new hole in the foundation, which I later learned was unnecessary. They did this without alerting us and without using anything to mitigate the mess, such as a vacuum and/or drop cloths. Everything in our basement was covered with concrete dust.
3. When they finished, they just left a large coil of exposed, live wire in the corner of the basement. For the city to install the meter...
4. It took months to get both the meter installation and inspection scheduled. I was repeatedly told they (Common Ground) would schedule it for a date in the future. When that day would come and go, I would text and they would reply, "We just got a call from the city and they're going to schedule it next week". That week would pass without an inspection or follow up. I again would text and get the same response "We just got a call...". Interesting how the city always called shortly after I texted them...
5. They didn't move the meter outside. Our house was built in 1960 and the meter was installed inside, which was common practice then. We got a quote from Clinton first, and their tech said they would move the meter outside. When I next got a quote from Common Ground, I just assumed they would do the same. Life lesson! We upgraded to 200A and those meters are more than twice the size of 100A, and, if Common Ground had set the meter up for exterior installation, they wouldn't have needed to drill a hole in the foundation!
8. When we finally did get our inspection scheduled, the inspector spotted issues with their work. I called them back to fix it and they complained the entire time about how the inspector was a stickler and other inspector's would let them get away with things.
Here's I'm writing this review two years later:
- I'm still cleaning up concrete dust in the basement.
- I recently installed a new light fixture and discovered they mislabeled every breaker
- We just got a heat pump installed and our contractor discovered Common Ground didn't properly seal the hole they drilled through the foundation! We were lucky mice didn't find it, but that might explain why the cat loves hanging out in that corner of the basement...
Maybe they're better now? Maybe your house will burn down? Who knows! Just go with the pros. The additional cost is worth it for peace of mind. -
Found my new electric company!! Master electricians, flexible, treated my property like their own, and were amazingly affordable. Jacob and Gina were saviors!! Thank you a thousand times over. Don’t call anyone else before you get a quote from Common Ground.

We used Common Ground to install a ceiling fan, a new service line, and some other things as well. We found them easy to deal with and the work was done well. I would recommend them!

I had an all around excellent experience with Common Ground Electric. Scheduling was easy. They were quick to respond and highly communicative leading up to my appointment time.
Stuart and Gina arrived promptly, at the start of my scheduled window, and worked to quickly diagnose and repair several issues that had been ongoing. They were friendly, spent time to explain what had been going on, and were extremely fair and honest with their pricing.
I will absolutely not hesitate to contact them for any future issues that may come up. -
I was having issues with some kitchen appliances and my circuit breaker. Common Ground figured out the issue immediately after inspection, fixed the offending circuits, and everything has been running smoothly since.
Very much appreciate the speed and professionalism. Also appreciate that they were willing to hang around and answer a bunch of questions about it. Great experience, will definitely be going back to them. -
We have always had a great experience with common ground! They are efficient, reliable and professional. They came out same day for a quick job to get us up and running and came back for a lasting repair! Always recommend!!

Common Ground Electrical installed a new breaker box in my townhouse, and two years later moved the bathroom lights and installed new ones. In addition to solving my electrical problems, they gave me an education about how my place is wired. They arrive on time and have affordable prices and excellent communication. I will definitely use them again.

We used Common Ground about a year ago to do repairs on our old and new house while we were moving and they did a great job on several types of projects. So when I had an issue with the outlets in all our bathrooms today, I gave them a call. Instead of charging me to come out they were able to talk me through the solution over the phone. Great people, great work, great company. Thank you! Will definitely use them in the future.

We had a problem in our house and Stuart was there that day! He was amazingly knowledgeable and found us the most cost effective solution. Highly recommend!
-
Never felt so comfortable with a team of contractors! They are kind, knowledgeable, fairly priced, and it feels like pals helping you out. We’ve used them twice now (new panel/GFCIs/grounding/new outlet/troubleshooting) and I even recommended them to my mom, so.
-
I’ve had the best experience. The staff were so friendly and easy to work. As a first time home buyer they walked me through step by step with upgrading all my electrical outlets and wiring. Couldn’t recommend more!

Stuart and Gina stopped by to check out a bad outlet. Our older home had seen a hodge podge of DIY electrical fixes (prior to us moving in) that led up to the problem. They weren't able to fix the bad outlet today, but they we're able to identify an alternative solution that Im eager to bring them back to address. Most important, they are genuine, patient, and homegrown. Customer service was top notch.
