Home Services reviews in Baltimore, Maryland

I have enjoyed my several visits to Green Fields nursery since moving to Baltimore. The selection is great—you get way more interesting varietals and colors than visiting your average big box garden store, and the plants themselves are incredibly healthy. Everything I’ve purchased from here has thrived, and my raised beds couldn’t look any more beautiful! Yes, it’s pricey, but you get what you pay for and I’m always happy to support local business, especially when the product is this good.
The only frustrating thing about shopping here is the lack of space. It’s fine if you’re only going to buy a single houseplant, meander around, or maybe get a hanging basket. But there’s hardly any space to move around, especially if you’re trying to navigate with one of their shopping cart wagons. The pathways are super narrow and built on a hill, which made me nervous that I’d run over the many plants that are on their sidewalks or another patron! I likely would have spent an additional $100 here if it had been easier to navigate and the carts had more capacity. I just felt “in the way” and wanted to get the heck out of dodge—I think I’ll save Green Fields for smaller purchases and accent florals, and go somewhere with more space for when I buy to fill up my large beds. -
Always great service & excellent selection. We recently bought a beautiful bottle palm tree and they held it for us as long as we needed until we picked it up.

I get my plants here every year - the quality of the plants is high, the prices are incredibly fair, and the business feels friendly and approachable when shopping. I highly recommend this place!

I found a variegated cast iron plant here. Shop local nurseries for classic plants.

I purchased multiple plants and the young man Joseph came and helped me plant them. He was very professional efficient and friendly can’t say enough. It was such a help.

Nice place for plants. Ask for Peter if you are there., he takes his times to recommend stuff.

Ben took great care of us and was patient as we tried to pick the best tree for us. We love this place, but Ben made it even better. Happy Holidays!

Green Fields Nursery sold me a bent tree; a bend that was concealed because it was wrapped and covered up? After I unwrapped it at home, I noticed the severe bend at the bottom and brought this up to company so that they can either replace it or stake/support it better so that it grows straighter. They ignored my emails after I requested assistance, even after I threatened to post a poor review on Google. Therefore, we are hiring a landscaper to do what they should have done. Poor customer service. Attached is a picture of it (see red arrow) with its trunk concealed.

Beautiful place staffed with beautiful people with good vibes. The plants are not bad either.

Love this place, a lot of choices and prices are reasonable. Will definitely come back and buy more plants for the house.

An amazing selection of all holiday items, from Christmas trees to boughs to evergreen wreaths! So happy to have found my new holiday stop :)

Amazing garden supply store. Lots of quality plants and products for every gardener. A good size greenhouse with lots of quality plants and a fantastic assortment of pottery.

I was near this nursery with my husband and we considered stopping by, but after reading several reviews about their poor treatment of people of color they won't see a dime of our money. Pretty disappointing that their management isn't responding to any of these post with an apology or concern.

Good selection, they pay attention to local plants and are knowledgeable, unlike big box stores.

I had a wonderful experience with Greenfields Nursery! I’m from out of town and ordered a tree remotely to be delivered to a friend, and everything went perfectly. Kei was amazing—so kind, easy to talk to, and incredibly helpful. She recommended the right tree, helped me write a thoughtful note, and made sure the delivery was right on time. I highly recommend Greenfields Nursery—wonderful people and excellent service!

Really love this place! Expensive to some degree but it is expected when purchasing relatively expensive, well-groomed flora. Unfortunately when my bestfriend and I went, it was cicada season so we suffered a bit whilst outdoors. Lots of gorgeous, favourable plants & the little greenhouse? So cute and such a good overall atmosphere. If you’re not planning on buying some plants, I recommend checking this place out anyways as it’s such a cute little spot with nice people who work there :-)

Every trip to Greenfield nursery is an adventure, and the cool thing about this adventure is that there's always a guide to help you along the way. If you know what you're looking for, they've got it. If you don't know what you're looking for, they've got that too. We always experience tremendous friendliness, unparalleled customer service, and even more important very knowledgeable workers who can tell you exactly what plants will work for you where and when and how to take care of them. You can't be going to this place, which is why we always go back. If you go there once, it'll be your go to for plants or planting needs of any kind ever more.
Just went again today, and once again, the best choice around. -
A little bit more expensive than lowes and Home Depot. But it’s near my home. My variegated pearl strings was dead after I bought it home for several days. So sad. They have many cute cactus

I contacted this nursery because it was in the area. Once I found out the pricing I was absolutely sold…. So onto the stellar review☺️. I was looking for a nursery/repotting help. My Mom recently passed away unexpectedly and had over 175+ plants. I had been struggling with a few of them and contacted them asking for help and I spoke with Peter. Let me say this, Peter is a GEM, he was so kind and patient “OVER THE PHONE☺️.” I have yet to meet him because he was off on Tuesday ☺️ but I look forward. I know I had taken up a lot of his time, asked the same questions and possibly rambling because I just wanted to help save my Moms plants. Peter told me to come in the next morning and who to speak with. Once I got to the nursery the following morning I met Kathleen and she took my plant brothers & sisters too be repotted. I came back to pick them up later that day and the looked wonderful. I have found a new nursery and I am so excited. Everyone was so helpful and kind, they offered condolences and told me to email any concerns/questions I may have in the future. I look forward to many visits here as I begin my new journey with my new plants and the help of Green Fields. I know my Mom is smiling down on my for taking care of her other babies 🪴. THANK YOU GREEN FIELDS

5-Star Review for Green Fields Nursery & Peter
We can’t say enough good things about our experience at Green Fields Nursery, especially thanks to Peter! After multiple failed attempts with citrus trees from big box stores—where we were given no guidance—we were honestly ready to give up. But Peter changed everything.
He was incredibly thoughtful, knowledgeable, and patient, taking the time to walk us through exactly how to care for our new citrus tree. He didn’t just sell us a plant—he empowered us with the tools and information to help it thrive.
This tree was especially meaningful to us, as it was an anniversary gift, and Peter’s care made the moment even more special. THIS is why you should always shop local. Thank you, Peter! -
I have driven past this intersection of Falls Road & Northern Parkway a gazillion times and never knew this place was nestled here hiding in plain site!
Early Saturday morning visits to nurseries is becoming a thing of mine lately and it’s so calming. This place is not huge, but it’s quaint and packs a punch with its variety. I loved walking through and looking at all of the plants, trees and accessories that they have. I was told that it can be a bit pricey but I did not feel that way. It could be that I went while they were having their half off summer sale 😉 but a lot of the items were decently priced in my opinion. I have become low key obsessed with the Alocasia/Colocasia species since my visit to Bali last year and towards the end of my visits I spotted some nice ones on the outside of the gate, I walked outside and around and noticed that they were planted there as a part of the landscape and not in buckets for sale 😩 I did ask the staff if they sold them and I was directed to an area where there were a few left but none looking like the variety planted out front. Looking for an Alocasia Diamond Head and I am sure I come across one at some point. The staff were friendly and I enjoyed my visit. To be that close to a busy intersection, it surprisingly still felt like I travelled far out for this visit.
