I scheduled my appointment online to have my carpets cleaned today (9/16) and requested a morning appointment because I had class at 6pm. Within an hour I received a call to confirm and was told that the technician would arrive between 8am & 12pm and he would call 30 minutes before arrival. At 12pm today, I hadn’t heard anything so I called Sears and was told that because I didn’t confirm (but I did) they moved me to the end of the route but he would be there by 2pm. I waited until 4pm and called again. I was told that he was finishing his last job and would be there in “38 minutes”. I continued to wait and skipped my 6pm class since I was told he was on his way. At 6:30 I called again and sat on hold for several minutes before I was hung up on. I called back and finally got in touch with someone only to be told that the tech wasn’t coming at all. Nobody bothered to call, text, or email to let me know. I have now waited around for 10 hours, missed my class, and all of my furniture is piled into my kitchen so that it’s off my carpet- all for nothing.

When I asked to reschedule for tomorrow, I was told “I can schedule it for tomorrow but I can’t promise that anyone will show up.” Why is that even an acceptable option?! I told the representative to cancel my appointment and Stanley Steemer will now be out tomorrow to take care of the job that Sears was unwilling to complete as promised.

Don’t waste your time scheduling with Sears. They don’t value the time of their customers in the least.

The first day I was scheduled for, they called and canceled.
Today I waited all day and finally had to call them, because no one ever called or showed up. They said "oh we don't have a technician today, it will have to be rescheduled".
Needless to say, I did not reschedule with these people

Waited 5 hours for my appointment service window of 12:00-5:00. They never showed, even though they called me that morning to confirm appointment. I called them and was told they would find out where my technician was and call me right back. Never called me back. No explanation or apology. I went with Sears because they were less expensive than Stanley Steamer, but less expensive is no good when you get no service. Never make that mistake again.

This is the second time sears cleaning failed poorly. After waiting for the techs to show up for a duct cleaning for six hours the tech said he doesn't have the right equipment for the job and left. I am flabbergasted at this company. I took a day off and wasted a whole day for nothing. They advertised a competitive price but don't deliver. Poor communication with customers. I don't even think there is anyone running this office. I do not recommend them. Don't waste your money with them.

I was canceled at the last minute twice. I called customer service three times and given the incorrect number for the Sears corporate office.
It was an inconvenience for both cancelations. I do not place recommended this service at All! Customer service sucks!

LIES & CHARGES CUSTOMERS FOR SERVICES THEY POORLY DO OR DO NOT PROVIDE AT ALL. I called this company in January to clean SPECIFICALLY the dryer duct at our place because my newly bought dryer machine was showing an error message after running a cycle, and the appliance customer service recommended us to have it cleaned in order to solve the issue.
Since I was working from home, I couldn’t be around the house to check everything that they were doing. I trusted the technician who was following his crew and “supposedly” guiding the tasks that needed to be done. But what he really was focused on was chitchatting and talking me into installing UV lights, and other stuff, NOT CHECKING AT ALL THE WORK HIS CREW WAS DOING. I told him that I specifically needed the dryer duct cleaned because of the dryer issue, and they did not clean it at all, but produce me with a huge bill which included that service. The result was that the dryer issue was never resolved. I kept calling the appliance customer service over and over, even yelling at the associates because I supposedly had resolved the dryer duct problem, but the machine was still malfunctioning. On one of the multiple calls I made, an associate suggested us to disconnect the transition duct from the dryer to see what happened. It turned out that the machine worked perfectly well for two weeks. I called again this company to ask them for how long the cleaning job was guaranteed. They told me that for at least a year. I asked them to come inspect the job they supposedly did. They told me that the only way to have that done was by paying a new cleaning, which I agreed to. I scheduled an appointment for a Thursday morning because both my husband and I were going to be at home (I requested some hours off at work in order to be there). That morning, we received a call from the technician who asked us where the duct exit was located. My husband told him that he believed it was in the roof. The technician told us that he was going to check the information online and call us back. We received a second call from him where he said that he needed a special ladder or equipment; that he was going to search that equipment before coming to our place. We then received a third call from him where he said that he could not find the equipment and that the company would call us to reschedule for the following week. Two days later, I decided to call myself to schedule a new appointment for the following Monday. We again requested some hours off to be at home. The whole morning elapsed without receiving any call from the technician. I decided to call the company to ask when he was going to come, and their answer was that they couldn’t do the job at our place because they didn’t do any kind of duct cleaning 20 feet above the ground. At that point, I was infuriated because they not only kept us waiting for a technician that never came, but lied about the fact that they were going to find the equipment they needed to do the job. I told the person on the phone that I was 100 percent sure that the technician never cleaned my dryer duct in January, since neither they removed the dryer from the laundry room (which is they only way to see or work on the duct, because the appliance occupies the whole room) nor they accessed the attic or roof, which are the only two possible ways to clean the duct. The person kept telling me that they had a 30-day guarantee, that I should have called them to come back, and blah blah, blah. I told him that they never cleaned the duct, charged me for the service, and I kept blaming the dryer company for selling me a defective appliance, when the real issue was that the duct was clogged. Of course, they did not reimburse me the money for that service because “that was charged so long ago that they could not do anything about it.” DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE NOTHING BUT A SCAM. They claim to have the best equipment, crew, and other stuff, but they charge deliberately for services they poorly perform or do not perform at all. Be cautious, people.

I will not recommend Sears to anyone. I wish I could have gave them zero stars. I scheduled for them to clean my ducts. The first time I scheduled was on a Saturday. The called me at 1:48, 1:49 and 1:50 to let me know they were on their way. I couldn't hear them. I called them right back at 1:50pm multiple times when I had better service on my phone and they did not answer. So I rescheduled for 8-12pm on the 4/23/24. As I waited I didn't receive a call. I called them to see if they still were coming. I was told that they called me, which was a lie. I have good service at me house and I kept the phone near me at all times. I was told to reschedule again. I will absolutely not reschedule for them to lie and say they called me and didn't. I work and took off for this service. My time was wasted. I should have looked at the reviews first I wouldn't have never called this company. I can assure you that they didn't call. Look at the phone log.

Should have listened to the reviews. Don't waste your money, The rug doctor does a better job than Sears. First Sears said the technician be at house around 10am. Didn't show til 3:30pm. Then tried to up-sell me for a better clean. Also didn't move beds around to clean under them. Sure that would have been extra too. Cleaning was sub par at best. More of a damp vacuum job than a carpet cleaning. Sorry Sears your service has gone down, down, down. Not the quality from my parents time. On the plus side technician was a nice enough man.

4 scheduled appointments and my vents still haven't been cleaned. I originally scheduled back in May and asked in the notes section for a late appointment because I dont get home until 3pm. The tech called at 11am and said he was 20 minutes away. So I reschedule again the following week and leave work 3 hours early, get home, the tech says he's on his way, never shows. The 3rd time I scheduled an appointment for my off day. Sears calls at 5pm and tells me the tech had an emergency so they can't make it. Scheduled a 4th time which was the very next week on my off day again and Sears calls at 9:30am and says the tech had another emergency. I understand stuff happens but I've been trying to get my vents cleaned for a month now it's ridiculous. Just pay the extra money and go with Stanley Steamer. Sears is garbage.

Can’t stress enough how big of a ripoff this is. Paid 200 dollars for air duct cleaning tried charging 2k for hvac cleaning. Wouldn’t do work otherwise. Then had the nerve to cuss at me over the phone. Don’t pay for this garbage. Ended up getting Atlantic Duct Cleaning and they were classy and honest.

The worse company in the world . A man by the name of Jamari didn’t dry the carpets , cussed my mom out …and decided to you foul languages telling me he’s from the Southside of Baltimore and threatened me saying he would f me up while trying to fight me . They didn’t clean carpets well and did not redo it or refund the money . Here’s the receipt . Then also lied to his boss saying I wanted to fight him because he relished he was wrong. It seems like their boss was supporting it. Then after kicking him out he banged on our door to come back in and take photos about ten separate times after the us repeatedly telling me we wanted him away from our property. Horrible service . And please be protected around them as well

Scheduled an appointment for air duct cleaning using an online offer.. approximately $179 for the service. Informed the representative of the number of vents. The technician that arrived immediately tried to convince me that I had mold..and suggested that I install an some type of additional system to prevent mold. He also said they never clean ducts at the price that was offered online. The HVAC and non of the vents were inspected and he looked at my system and indicated that it was not properly installed!! He constantly showed me pictures on his phone of other jobs they supposedly completed. To make a long story short...they would not clean the air ducts because I would not buy whatever they were trying to sell. SHAME ON YOU SEARS!! Don't waste your time..I will be filing a complaint with the BBB! The picture shows what he identified as mold...it was just a lot of dust!

Just take your business somewhere else. Let me start off with saying don't fall for their prices and services you select. I called Sears directly and made sure that I would be charged for 10 vents$130. Made an appointment on the phone and they showed up on time and called before getting there. Guy refused to do the service I wanted and I had called for originally and said we have to clean everything. I told him that I could only do 130 for 10 vents just like we agreed on the phone. He refused and he said we can go and whenever you change your mind we will come back for a fee. Gave me an estimate of 1400. I would never pay $1,400 for something that is a complete surprise. I told him no go this is not what I was told. He gave me a discount and charged me 950 for cleaning everything and on top of that they cut my AC unit located inside to put their vacuum in. Air is leaking from the cut, I opened the unit to see if the dust was gone and its still sitting there. Dishonest business practice. back to back lies. my single family house rent cost less than what their estimate was. Never again Sears Never again.

If I could give this company zero stars I definitely would. I was scheduled to get my carpet cleaned today between the hours of 8-12. So I called them when it was 11:45am to see where they were because we were coming up on 12pm. So the lady tells me she reached out to the tech and he was in route. 2 hours later still no tech. I called back again and she said that he was still in route based off the dispatcher. It's now 4pm and they are still not here. So I ended up canceling my service. I do not recommend this company. There level of professionalism is terrible. Which explains the poor rating.

I saw an add for duct and dryer vent cleaning for $99 so I thought, hmmm what great deal! So I called…The technician arrived on time and was very polite and professional (which is why I gave it 1 star). I showed him where the vents and the handler were which he then preceded to take off the cover to the handler and inspect. He then put everything back together and told me that I needed to have that cleaned and sanitized/deodorized to the tune of 900+ dollars which I wasn’t prepared for! He would NOT do any of the vents, ducts or dryer vent because I refused to have the handler cleaned. I stated that no where in the add did they say that that was a requirement! He said sorry and left! I will never do business with Sears again and I will definitely spread the word! I wished I would have read the reviews first! Do yourself a favor and DO NOT CALL THEM! Very disappointed and angry!

Folks - This enterprise is a Scam and outright bait and switch.
    Summary:
    a. Took multiple appointments to get them to visit. Cancellations. MisManagement. Poor customer service. Wasted so much time chasing them.
    b. Techs who came smelled of marijuana.... fresh! Totally unprofessional demeanor too!
    c. Right of the bat instead of working on the Air Duct cleaning, they started a fake inspection, mentioned 3 inches layer of dust in the air intake when there is no layer, make things up and refused to do the $120 job they advertised and pushed a $600 service on me which I had not signed up for.

I plan to complain to BBB too. It's sad what has become of the Sears brand. It's a scam.

Reading the other horrible reviews of dust everywhere, damaged equipment, etc. I would agree based on the technians high on pot and the whole experience.

I will not be touching these people even if I am paid $500 let alone charged. They are likely to cause more damage than help!

Sincere advice folks .....Stay away from them!!

ZERO STARS! Air Duct & Dryer Vent Cleaning Service was HORRIBLE. Dust and debris left all over my home, vent covers left lying on the floor and hanging from the ceiling, Price charged was double the advertised online prices, and CUSTOMER Service is NON-existent. No response to my complaint phone calls, emails, or voicemails. Attempted to reach Sears Customer Service for 3wks, and still ZERO contact from this company to resolve the issues, and their 6-month Warranty is WORTHLESS.

I scheduled a service appointment on December 31st, with the technician expected to arrive on January 7th by noon. No one showed up, and I received no prior notification.
When I called at 4 PM to check on the status, I was informed that a message had supposedly been left to reschedule—but I never received any call, voicemail, or text. This lack of communication was disappointing.
They then offered to send someone in another week, extending the total wait to about two weeks from the original date. Reliable scheduling and honest communication are important to me, and this experience fell short. I recommend others consider more dependable options to avoid similar frustration.

I hired Sears Carpet and Air Duct Cleaning to clean my vents on March 19, 2025. Their own website says air duct cleaning should last 3–5 years, yet only 8 months later my home’s air quality was so bad that my family and I were having breathing issues.

I even brought in another company, assuming the issue had to be something more serious — because Sears had supposedly cleaned the ducts earlier this year. But the moment their tech checked the system, it was obvious something was off. When he pulled out my filter — which had been replaced less than a week ago — it was already coated in dirt and buildup. That should NOT happen unless the ducts were never properly cleaned in the first place. The vents themselves looked just as bad. I’ll be posting photos so you can see exactly what I saw.

The customer service made everything worse.
Samantha Lee, the manager, was extremely unhelpful. She refused to give me the corporate number, refused to provide the air duct manager’s contact information, and ignored my calls and emails. I’ve made multiple attempts to get this resolved and have gotten nowhere.

And just to be clear — I’m not asking for a refund. My only request is for Sears to redo the cleaning properly, the service I already paid $850 for. Nothing more.

Between the poor-quality work, the lack of accountability, and the impact on my family’s health, this has been one of the most frustrating service experiences I’ve ever had. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
