We have been working with Maxalea for 10+ years now, most recently on a major backyard renovation including adding a pool and sport court. Dave and his team are so quick to respond to even the smallest question, and the work they do is absolutely top tier. We highly recommend!

Our law firm recently engaged the services of the Maxalea Team for a comprehensive project involving remodeling two garden boxes, tree stump removal, and concrete work. From the outset, their professionalism was evident and remained consistent throughout the entire process.

I have used Maxalea for many years for landscaping and maintenance. More recently we added lawn care and that has been a terrific move. Our lawn has never looked so good.

The crews are always pleasant and leave the yard looking pristine when they leave. Maxalea clearly has instilled high standards in the crews to the point that even when I tell them now to worry about something, they take care of it anyway. They do a great job and know the job is not done until everything looks clean and perfect.

We’ve worked with Maxalea for over ten years and have enjoyed an excellent relationship with Jim McWilliams. Our most recent job involved removing parts of large, old bushes which straddled the property line between our yard and our next-door neighbor’s property. We wanted to remove all parts of bushes on our side; our neighbor wanted his portion of bushes to remain. Jim and his team approached what could have been a prickly situation with a positive and professional manner. Jim remained on site while our portion of bushes were removed to ensure that the property line was clearly marked and followed. Several pieces of equipment were used—chain saw, hand saw, various shovels, and ultimately, chains and a work truck. The job was a success! Our neighbor’s portion of bushes remains; our portion is gone. Thank you, Jim and crew! You are great to work with!

We recently completely an addition and a full exterior renovation of our house and used Maxalea for the rear patio design, landscape design on the entire property, and reseeding of the rear yard after construction. The lawn reseeding was amazing. It was a less expensive option than sod and we went from dirt to full grass within weeks and it still looks great a year later. The landscape design was the final touch that completed our project and looks amazing. Picking plants and bushes that the deer would be less likely to eat was important to us and we have had very little issues. We also had a significant driveway pond prior to the construction and Maxalea reworked the rear drainage with a new driveway, a new driveway drain and all new rear underground drainage system which all work great and we no longer have any ponding. We look forward to continuing to work with Maxalea on the remaining areas of our property over the coming years. Many thanks to Chad and his entire team for a job well done.

Maxalea did an outstanding job for us when they took on a very challenging project on our neglected property. Before we moved in they removed and filled in an in-ground pool, removed most of the existing mismatched shrubs, trees, and weeds, created a detailed plan, and did an excellent job in transforming our yard with beautiful plantings, trees, and flowers. Everyone at Maxalea is very reliable and responsive whenever contacted by phone, e-mail, or text. Maxalea continues to care for our landscaping needs because of the high quality of their work. So the bottom line...highly recommend!!

Maxalea has completed three installations here in the last 18 months, including several trees in each stop, and stonework. I'm satisfied.

Landscaping is more than finding a tree to be plunked in dirt. It's climate, physics, commercial availability, office coordination, a knowledgeable installation team, quite a bit of hard work, terrific soil, and weather luck. Of course, there's probably more.

Most importantly to me, though, is the satisfaction in matching the trees and shrubs to the lay of the land, to have a collaboration between the Maxalea team and myself, to exercise a little control and make the final decision on tree selection and placement, and then to end the day with enjoyment and satisfaction in the finished product, thinking of how this will all grow together, and grow up with me and my surrounding community.

Maxalea has done a very good job, and I will look forward to seeing them here in the future.

Maxalea delivers both quality and service in every aspect of what they do. If you want something “done right,” this is where you go. We hired Maxalea to design a patio and landscape plan for our backyard (among other things). The design they prepared was exactly what we asked for (and then some). Maxalea employs and sub-contracts the best people for each phase of the job, and we are impressed by everyone’s skill, communication, and fastidious attention to detail. JD in particular has done an amazing job managing our project - he is diligent and always available to answer our questions. Their prices are reasonable when you consider the quality and immense value-add they provide from start to finish. My husband and I feel like we are in good hands, and we plan on looking to Maxalea for all our future landscaping/hardscaping needs.

Once again Maxalea delivered. They removed boxwoods that they planted 25 years ago that had run their course. Planted new Hydrangeas and roses buried my downspouts and mulched. In the past they have done landscape design, planting, stone walkways and retaining walls. They never fail to deliver an excellent product at a reasonable price. Thank you Maxalea

Just an over the top landscaping job today by Chad, Logan and the rest of the crew from Maxalea!! My back hurt just seeing what they accomplished in our yard. Bye to the Fall and Winter blahs. We have been Maxalea clients since 1999. I thought they only did large properties, but they happily took on the task of our end-of-group townhome way back then. They gutted both front and back and designed plans that we implemented over two years. Our home stood out as having the most beautiful front of any in the neighborhood, and they gave us a spectacular back yard as well. We have used Maxalea to maintain the work they did for 25 years. As things changed over the years, they’ve always been there to help us rethink plants and designs. They’ve also always taken the time to do little things that went beyond their job, like fixing our mailbox post when it came undone. I recently hired Maxalea for a backyard project, and I can confidently say the experience exceeded every expectation I had. From start to finish, their team was professional, efficient, and incredibly skilled.
They assembled a 12' x 20' pergola I had purchased from Home Depot, and went above and beyond to ensure the structure was built to last. Instead of cutting corners, they carefully pulled up existing pavers to pour a proper concrete footer for maximum sturdiness—then flawlessly replaced the pavers around each post, making everything look seamless.
I had the pleasure of working with Chris Schattall as the lead on this project, and he was absolutely phenomenal. Chris maintained constant communication throughout, always keeping me in the loop and making sure every detail was handled with care. He also helped me with the placement of the pergola, and his eye for design and layout was spot-on—his recommendations truly enhanced the final look of the space. It was clear he genuinely cared about getting everything right, and he did exactly that.
They also removed an old stone firepit and neatly stacked the stones on-site, again showing great attention to both detail and cleanliness.
What impressed me most—aside from the precision and quality of their craftsmanship—was the respect the team had for my property, their professionalism, and how smoothly everything was coordinated. Even though this was my first time working with Maxalea, it absolutely will not be the last. I’m already thinking of future projects I’d love to trust them with.

We reached out to Jim at Maxalea to talk about replanting some plants in our front yard. After a few minutes we realized Jim had some fantastic ideas that would transform our front yard from the neighborhood eye-sore it once was to its new modern state. His team removed multiple beds of a poorly designed stone wall, regraded the entire front bedding areas and planted various types of plants that would thrive all year long. The entire process was quick and Jim was an absolute joy to work with. We will be hiring Maxalea for Phase 2 of our project - transforming our backyard.

I decided to completely redo the landscaping in front of my house. Chad came right out for a site visit and collaborated with me to design a perfect plan. His knowledge of deer resistant shrubs as well as his creativity allowed me to feel very comfortable. His team did a fantastic job digging up the plants and spaced the new shrubs beautifully. They also did a nice job cleaning up. My new gardens/landscaping look beautiful! I highly recommend Maxalea for top tier landscaping.

Maxalea has completed several projects for us over the last 5l years. Not only did they help develop professional drawings they are working with us on a phased approach to help realize our outdoor living dreams. Specifically, working with the project manager,Chad, has been particularly great. He has helped us time and time again, and even if something wasn't perfect he quickly responded and quickly remediated any concerns. We look forward to the next phase which we are in the process of finalizing with Chad and Maxalea now. My wife and I can't recommend Maxalea enough, just a great company with excellent people.

Wife and I purchased a new house that needed a major backyard renovation. Maxalea was our first call. They ripped up flower (weed) beds, graded the yard, all the while working around a built in irrigation system. Then installed sod, and even managed to salvage a few bushes and transplant them. They were able to come in under our budget, and did all of this in 3 days. We will be hiring them again next year to finish up the front yard and hardscape a patio in.

Maxalea just completed planting a dozen new trees on the campus of my retirement community, a job costing on the order of $10K. They submitted the least expensive, but most comprehensive proposal of the four that were solicited; and in scoping out the job that they were to bid on, they sent not just one, but two knowledgeable professionals to clearly understand the job to be done. They came when they said they would and did a very professional job; they went the extra mile! The three attached photos show three of the trees they planted; two have deer fencing and one is just staked, being in an area not frequented by deer. I recommend them wholeheartedly.
