Vance and his crew recently installed large landscape stones, a path and fence for us. They paid attention to every detail and the result looks great! I highly recommend working with Vance and Maxalea for landscaping needs.

Maxalea has been my go to landscaper all my adult life. Stellar service, intuitive design and great trees, shrubs and plants as well as hardscaping.

A big thank you to Steve, Chad and Fernando for a great job! We think our paver driveway looks great. We are very appreciative that you worked with us to make sure all the details were addressed regarding drainage, heated driveway and lighting along the driveway. It exceeded our expectations once complete. It has been a pleasure to work a real team of professionals.

My husband and I contacted Maxalea to grind out invasive tree roots, replace sidewalks and re-sod.
Work was done but we did not expect the damage that Maxalea's sales rep, Vance Cole and landscapers did to existing shrubbery and trees. The mature Japanese Hollies, Azaleas and Crepe Myrtles have been pruned so severely that front entrance landscaping looks truly awful. Maxalea even removed mulch from the beds without replacement.

I asked Management ( Steve ) to address the damage to existing shrubbery and trees without satisfaction.

I would not have Maxalea do any additional landscaping work. Who would ever use a service where you even have to request clean up of concrete from side beds and sidewalks and the removal of wood work material from Graco Concrete.

The $8,000 cost should have warranted a more professional job without damage to mature shrubbery and trees.

Maxalea landscaped our home over 15 years ago. The front yard design matches the style of our home beautifully and has the "curb appeal" I was looking for. Maxalea designed an amazing backyard pool and patio that looks relaxed and inviting! Maxalea also maintains my property and it still looks just as beautiful today!!! I highly recommend Maxalea for their creative designs and professional services. They are an excellent landscape company!

We have absolutely loved working with Maxalea over the past few years. They took our vision and made it a reality with true professionalism, care and a great sense of style. They are full-service and managed everything so that we didn't have to worry. Other places might have lower prices but you won't find this level of expertise anywhere else...totally worth it!

I enlisted Maxalea to replace the grass on a hill leading up to my house with vinca. This was done and looked amazing when first planted but over time erosion issues from the down spout have caused the hill to sink down and a trench to form along one side causing not only an eyesore but a mud pit at the base of my sidewalk. When contacting Maxalea on this issue initially, I heard back once from the original person assigned to my project but never heard back again. I followed up some time later only to find they no longer worked there and my case hadn’t been given to anyone else (not Maxalea’s fault at all). Once in the right hands, I have received the customer service I signed up for from Chad and the owners. They have taken what has been a pretty frustrating situation and turned things completely around in coming out right away to look at the issue, installing a short term solution, and getting me scheduled to make the long term fix. Chad has been in constant communication with me whether it be through phone or email and I really appreciate all the time he has taken to resolve this issue while also offering what should be the best solution to the problem. I feel that Chad and the owners of Maxalea really exemplify what good customer service should be and I wouldn’t ever hesitate to reach out again for future projects as I know they stand by their work.

We have had several projects completed by Maxalea, with great results each time. Recently, Maxalea completed a spring/summer landscape "clean up" project for us including mulching, trimming trees and overall maintenance. Chad and his team are responsive, professional, and the yard looks AMAZING. We would definitely recommend them.

Maxalea has provided landscaping services to us over the past 30+ years. We now have them do all of our landscaping from design, planting, mowing, general monthly maintenance, to rebuilding a paver patio that was incorrectly built by another landscaping company. All of the people we have interacted with at Maxalea, from the designer/owner to the installers to maintenance crew, to the administrative/office support, are courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. We have recommended Maxalea to several neighbors who have also been pleased with their projects. We highly recommend Maxalea for any and all landscaping needs/projects.

After seeing the work that Maxalea has done in our neighborhood over the years and getting recommendations from our neighbors, we decided to hire maxalea to landscape our front and back yards. This was the first landscaping company that we've hired to do such a big job and we have been very pleased from start to finish. The concept that Doug designed from our discussions exceeded our expectations by far. He addressed several issues we had not even considered as well. Dave managed the project and patiently worked through any and all issues and changes that came up throughout the process. The entire team was respectful to us and our property. They were thoughtful and professional. We would readily recommend Maxalea for landscaping and hardscape design and installation.

I cannot even begin to describe how pleased we are with the design that Maxalea created for our property. Vance, Doug, & Rebecca are consummate professionals that listened to what we had in mind and then created an extraordinary plan beyond anything we could have imagined. Every level of detail was incredibly well thought out, from the grade to the need for deer resistant plantings to the fact that I wanted fragrant plants near our living areas. They came out multiple times to measure spaces, drop off plan ideas, etc. And the overall design is jaw dropping, with friends, neighbors and those passing by constantly commenting on its beauty. I cannot recommend this company and specifically this team highly enough.

Maxalea has provided us with exceptional and knowledgeable professional service and counsel over the years. Their prices are quite competitive and worth every penny. We have a beautiful yard and had done some of the work ourselves over the years, but with our busy lives the decision to contract Maxalea was the right one for year round yard maintenance. It is a great local business.

I can’t praise Maxalea highly enough! We were well into a landscaping project with another company and it had been one disaster after another from the beginning but we didn’t know what to do. A friend directed us to Maxalea and Jim was at our door within an hour. They immediately assessed the project and we had a plan and a contract days later. Everything ran smoothly from that moment on - Jim was in constant communication with us and visited the site daily, the men were polite to work with and cleaned up each day, and the job was completed perfectly and much sooner than expected. We are so grateful to Maxalea for coming to our rescue and so very happy with the work that they did. We are now customers for life and happy to share our positive experience with others!

Jim McWilliams and all the folks from Maxalea have been a pleasure to work with. Last year, we raved about a fabulous “job-well-done” on the stonework especially the walkway repair and installation of two new boulders where our walkway meets the road. This year, we designed and had installed several beds of perennials and some foundation bushes. I especially appreciate the manner in which we brainstorm and come up with ideas and adjustments on the spot. I respect the experience and knowledge that all the Maxalea crews bring to each one of our projects!

The "Maxalea" look - 1st rate landscaping! We have used Maxalea Nurseries for high quality shrubs for decades. Four years ago, we hired the company to do our landscaping maintenance. Two years ago, they designed and executed a side-of-the-house walk to eliminate a very muddy patch. The result exceeded our expectations! Jim and Marcos incorporate our wishes into the maintenance and oversee professional crews that follow through with excellent results. In our 45 years of residence, the property has never looked more beautiful.

I chose Maxalea for two projects I had in mind one for landscaping and one for a backyard patio. I liked that that they are local and family owned and what I read about them online. I worked with Vance as the project manager on both projects who was very professional, knowledgeable and excellent at taking your vision and designing a beautiful and functional backyard space. We had some challenges with drainage and Vance was very creative with his solutions. The crew was also very skilled at their craft and professional and always there when they said they would be. Vance was always on top of the projects to the last detail. It was a very positive experience from beginning to end. Thank you!

Have you ever had your landscapers show up, knock on your door, get keys, and then notice later that day they didn’t touch your yard? With Maxeala, that can be your regular interaction with your landscapers.

The first time it happened I had to make 6 calls to get them to do me a ‘favor’ by coming back a week and a half later. In a bit of foreshadowing, the week and a half, was their improved offer, after I told them waiting a month was fine, I’ll just post a picture of my yard as it was in a review here.

The next time the exact same thing happened, Sandy the sales rep who gave her personal assurance it was resolved couldn’t be bothered because she was on vacation.

Eventually I spoke with the owner who was flabbergasted that spending 3 hours on the phone to deal with, a now recurring, issue, would leave a customer dissatisfied.

Needless to say he assured me that I’d receive some sort of compensation for their back to back no shows, while actually at the property (asked me for the sally port key). That didn’t happen.

So if you want to spend hours on the phone to have your landscapers show up a week late, and then be indignant that you are upset about the situation, while offering no compensation other than they delayed performance of some (not all) of their contracted services, this company is for you.

Needless to say this is the worst experience I have ever had with a landscaping company, and am currently working to replace them for next season. I recommend you look elsewhere.

If they ever provide any compensation, as promised by the owner, I’ll update this review accordingly. So far we are at $0, at a cost of about 10 phone calls (most of them at their request and urging) and a minimum of 4 hours on the phone, getting pin-balled around their organization. Definitely the convenience, I was looking for when I signed a contract to spend thousands on regular landscaping.

There were several smaller issues before this, but after this season I cannot, in good conscience rely on this company or recommend them to others.

Sandy did reach out after seeing this review. Their response was to request I get on the phone with them. As I’ve been on the phone for a total in excess of 4 hours for these issues, I initially declined. When I did call, I wish I hadn’t, it seems clear their only motivation was getting this review removed, not you know actually delivering on any of their assurances.

Since they’ve been flippant about this whole saga, and in full disclosure, I countered with an offer to delete this review if they refund my last 180 days of charges (the maximum duration their processor should be able to void incurred charges). I did not feel not charging me for one visit (which they had already charged to my CC, but predictably didn’t know about) was adequate for their abhorrently bad handling of my account.

I believe their performance has earned this review, so if they want to pay to take it down that’s their prerogative, but this review was initially posted after the promised timeline for a make good had already elapsed.

Had the issue been resolved in a timely manner, or without Maxeala’s indignation that I should take what services I get and be satisfied, I likely never would have posted this review and just shopped landscapers at the end of the season.

2 stars not one since the crews are decent (not great) when they do show up. If it drops to one star they either blocked my driveway again or knocked to ask for a key.

We worked with Chad Tipton and Maxalea for nearly 3 years to re-design and modernize our backyard and the deck surrounding our pool. Very patient, professional, and responsive as we considered various designs and cycled through multiple iterations until we arrived at a landscape design that worked for us. The execution of the project was flawless. We are very happy with Chad and Maxalea and will go to them again for the next project without hesitation!

We have been using Maxalea services for 20 plus years for garden projects and yearly maintenance. Their work is always done beautifully and the crews are very efficient and professional. We completely trust their crews to complete the work with minimum oversight from us. It has been a pleasure to work with this company over the years.
