Landscaping reviews in Baltimore, Maryland

Had a great first visit over the weekend. I went searching for a Mother’s Day gift and found the perfect thing. The staff took a lot of extra care in wrapping it and boxing it for me knowing it was a gift. It was a small gesture that really meant a lot to me.

The staff is knowledgeable, patient and helpful. All the displayed items look fresh and beautiful. I am very new to gardening and the staff helped me choose the right produce and soil to start with. I am excited to see all my herbs and veggies grow.

No other nursery compares to this place! Beautiful and healthy plants 🌱 I love my new porch!
-
Very nice, well organized nursery with an array of plants suitable for different seasons.

Purchased a good sized fishtail palm there recently. I am impressed by thier knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices and customer service. They cleaned up the plant for me and carried it to my car which i am thankful for since it was a cold and icy morning! Looking forward to doing business with them again soon.

Parking was pretty tight but the place itself is so great. We got bonsai trees for eachother and found out that we already had some at home. So now we will have a bonsai garden! We also got some shade plants, that were labeled (super helpful) for the living room. Soon the house will be full!! The whole nursery is well organized and seems like its run by REAL plant people. Definitely going back!

It's a welcome change from your chain stores such as Home Depot and Lowe's. The prices are very reasonable, and the selections are bountiful. I really appreciate how knowledgeable some of the staff are about the plants. For years I've lived in the Baltimore area and have driven pass the nursery, but never went in. I'm glad I decided to give them a try. Money well spent. They didn't get the full 5 stars because of parking. It's horrendous if the lot is full

Love shopping “small” businesses and love the variety. BUT, the houseplants have a major fungus gnat infestation. I brought this up to the staff and they said just use yellow sticky traps. Uh no…I’m not bringing an infestation into my house full of houseplants and the sticky traps only work for adults, not the larve in the soil. So disappointed!

My husband and I are first time plant buyers and Nadine was absolutely wonderful! She was extremely helpful and sweet. She picked out the perfect flower pots and found beautiful plants and flowers to fill the pots with. She was patient and took her time with us. Wonderful experience, will definitely be coming back here in the future! I highly suggest asking for Nadine too :)

The staff are very friendly and knowledgable. All you have to do is ask and a wealth of knowledge is what you are in store for. Their indoor houseplants greenhouse has nothing but high quality, sought after plants. Any novice to moderately experienced plant collector will easily find something they want! We will be back!

A Baltimore landmark! My family are all avid gardeners and we have been shopping here for 40 years. They know and care about plants and they know and care about their customers. An absolute local gem in a world with fewer and fewer of them.

I’m a beginner gardener and so very glad I came across this place, through google search. They have many varieties of plants/flowers; even plants I had a hard time finding elsewhere (indoor plants in good condition). There prices were reasonable for most varieties.
It was such a pleasure meeting Peter, one of the advisors, there. He was so very helpful in not only helping me find plants that best meets my needs, but also giving me valuable information! We had a fun discussion about our cats :) I hope both of his girl kitties are doing well.
I will DEFINITELY be coming back for more of my gardening needs. -
I know nothing about flowers but I wanted to purchase a get well gift for a friend. I was impressed with the staff here because everyone I met was friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Maya who was especially wonderful and knowledgeable . She helped me pick out a really lovely houseplant and also repotted it in a pretty container for me. I am extremely grateful for all her help and I was very pleased with my purchase.

One of my fave local places to get plants. This is the only local garden center I know of that isn’t a Lowe’s or Home Depot according to google. It’s close to home, sells seeds all year long(great for my Aerogarden), always helpful staff to answer questions

We wanted to resign our back garden for easier maintenance and better drainage. Jim came out and made many helpful suggestions. After we finished the design Jim and his crew returned and did a super job preparing the area and planting the new plants. We are very happy with how it turned out.

Would never come here again, walked in was not greeted by not one person. Saw at least 5 and they saw me. Was there for at least 10 minutes and still nothing. Being a black woman is amazing 😍.

I have enjoyed my several visits to Green Fields nursery since moving to Baltimore. The selection is great—you get way more interesting varietals and colors than visiting your average big box garden store, and the plants themselves are incredibly healthy. Everything I’ve purchased from here has thrived, and my raised beds couldn’t look any more beautiful! Yes, it’s pricey, but you get what you pay for and I’m always happy to support local business, especially when the product is this good.
The only frustrating thing about shopping here is the lack of space. It’s fine if you’re only going to buy a single houseplant, meander around, or maybe get a hanging basket. But there’s hardly any space to move around, especially if you’re trying to navigate with one of their shopping cart wagons. The pathways are super narrow and built on a hill, which made me nervous that I’d run over the many plants that are on their sidewalks or another patron! I likely would have spent an additional $100 here if it had been easier to navigate and the carts had more capacity. I just felt “in the way” and wanted to get the heck out of dodge—I think I’ll save Green Fields for smaller purchases and accent florals, and go somewhere with more space for when I buy to fill up my large beds. -
Always great service & excellent selection. We recently bought a beautiful bottle palm tree and they held it for us as long as we needed until we picked it up.

I get my plants here every year - the quality of the plants is high, the prices are incredibly fair, and the business feels friendly and approachable when shopping. I highly recommend this place!

I found a variegated cast iron plant here. Shop local nurseries for classic plants.
