Our experience was great from start to finish. During our initial conversation, our NativeSons project coordinator, Mark Avara, suggested that if we did the demo ourselves, we could save money. I knew I made the right choice when our contractors were being conscientious about our budget. Mark was always available to answer our desperate questions during the DIY demo. He also was great at explaining the timeline of construction events. I appreciated his prompt responses to calls and/or emails.
Our installers, Rob and Dave, were fantastic. They were professional and polite, but also were so good-natured and pleasant to talk! Each day, Rob explained what they would be working on and then showed me the work at the end of the day. They coordinated times with us that allowed us to paint the room over a weekend before the cabinet installation occurred. They always came when they were scheduled. The level of communication was superb; we always knew what was happening and when. Finally, each day, they left the work area unbelievably clean and neat.
I am having some trouble coming up with adequate superlatives to express how much we appreciated the professionalism and work ethic that were evident in every stage of this renovation project. I love my kitchen-the reality of it exceeded my “dream” of it, which does not often occur! As I told Rob and Dave, the only thing that would make it more perfect was to include a cook whose skills were worthy of it. Alas, that was not part of our contract.
In closing, I thank all of the “team” who created such a beautiful kitchen for my family. I commend all of you for the value that is placed on customer satisfaction by providing excellent workmanship combined with consistent communication.

Native sons did my bathroom and kitchen remodel, the tile work is gorgeous and precise. I’ve never had any remodeling done but my friend recommended the company and I was thoroughly impressed. All their employees were professional and super helpful. So happy with my new space!

Absolutely a professional job from start to finish! It was like 'they were not even here' the entire visit, apart from the new parking pad they installed. I noticed another post about high pricing. Since it was just a parking pad, and I really did not have anything else to judge by, low price was the main reason I selected Native Sons. I priced out 6 other contractors and they came in the lowest. If you watch the video, you will see that the work they did. I don't even think a 'high priced' contractor can do a great job like this.

Louie and Joshua M did an amazing job installing our new kitchen cabinets. They were hard workers and focused on every detail. I was consulted about how I where I wanted the handles to be placed. Given our previous cabinets did not have handles I had no idea. But Louie was great and offered his expertise, showing me serval options for the many different drawers and cabinets. It made the decision easier as I was able to visually see it before making a decision. I didn’t feel rushed. Louie told me he wanted it to be exactly want I wanted for my dream kitchen. He and Joshua moveed to on, while I decided, it was great! The handles were on and looked great! Then the island that my husband had specially designed was fitted together and set in place according to the blueprint. Louie and Joshua M asked me to come take a look and it was like OH NO! I didn’t know what to do as everything was custom made and I didn’t want to lose all of the cabinetry. I called my husband, he was on speaker, we all had a conference call, and scratched our heads. The best response was when Louie and Joshua M. said NO PROBLEM, (after moving it several times to see what might work) that they would be back tomorrow and we could finalize the island then. Really!? They kept emphasizing they wanted me to be happy with MY KITCHEN. It wasn’t a job, it was about ME! WOW! Give them a raise! The next morning, Louie arrived, and we had decided where to move the island so everything could open with room to spare. Louie was great! He went to work, completed securing the island and the rest of the cabinets. Louie took the time to educate me on what cleaner to use on my new cabinets, how to use the “crayons” if the cabinets got scratched, about the round bumpers, etc. Louie made sure that I was completely happy and satisfied with my new kitchen. He was incredible and dedicated to his profession. It was an absolute pleasure to have worked with him. The entire process was smooth and easy because of these 2 amazing employees who took pride in their work, were very professional, and always put the customer first. I would highly recommend using Native Sons, Inc. and requesting that Louie and Joshua M. be the contractors who come and work in your home. You will not regret it and at the end of the day you will be BLOWN AWAY at your NEW KITCHEN! Thank you Louie and Joshua M. we cannot express how much we appreciated you and the quality of your work! Native Sons did a beautiful job renovating our kitchen, dining room, and living room including removal of a weight bearing wall between the old kitchen and DR, relocated duct work that was inside the wall, installed a huge beam, leveled the floor between DR and LR (previously a step down). They were punctual, friendly and professional. It was comforting to know they are licensed plumbers and electricians. My kitchen is absolutely gorgeous. They were very patient when problems/challenges happened and took it all in stride. They truly created “magic” and made my dream come true.

Native Sons did a full kitchen remodel last summer with new cabinets, electrical outlets, lighting, countertops, and backsplash.I love my new kitchen! It’d so bright and shiny especially with the backsplash that I selected! The guy did a great job with piecing the backsplash. I would definitely work with them again!

They were always there when they said they would be, and completed the work when they said they would. The owner is a working owner, and visited the job in the morning most days to give his crew direction. One of the great things about Native Sons is that their people hold all of the trades..electrical, plumbing, etc., eliminating the need for subcontractors. What few issues there were were handled promptly. Not the least expensive you will find, but sometimes you get what you pay for.

Native sons remodeled my bathroom and wow what a difference! When we first thought about remodeling our Bathroom we didn’t even think about permits and the resale value of everything being up to code. If I had tried to do this myself, the process would’ve ended up being way more time consuming than I’d originally imagined. Native sons came in and took care of everything, making it easy. I can’t press enough how worry free I was with this company. They took care of everything, from start to finish. They let us know ahead of time that there might be some hiccups throughout it all, which there were, but they took care of them quickly and it wasn’t a hassle for me at any point. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone I know that needs work done on their home!

We were very happy with the work that we received from Native Sons, especially Adam. It was so nice to have work done by someone very trust worthy, professional and very knowledgeable with everything. Adam would listen to what we wanted and accommodated everything. To find someone dependable and helped to fix problems that occurred and made sure we were happy with the outcome.

We recently purchased a property that lacked a bathroom on the lowest (basement) level. After interviewing several companies and their proposals we selected Native Sons. Even though their proposal was not the least expensive, it was the most thorough. We were very impressed by the professionalism, knowledge and competence of the project designer. We felt that the bathroom would become a valuable asset to the property and that, when completed, it would pass any home owner inspection for being compliant to Ann Arundel County Building Code.

The project engineer and manager was equally professional. He and his crew treated our property with respect and care. Native Sons provided additional specific professionals (i.e., electrical, plumbing and general engineering) as needed. They worked hard to complete the project under a time constraint that we imposed upon them.

We are extremely proud of our new bathroom. We have no hesitation in recommending Native Sons to prospective customers. We had high expectations of them prior to the project and they delivered!!

Josh and Andrew of Native Sons, Inc. did a superb job of transforming the hideous old kitchen in our 1910 home into a thing of beauty. Not only did they remove the old plaster walls, the tin ceiling, and the old floor with care and precision but they completely rebuilt the entire kitchen with energy efficient insulation, marvelous new lighting, a new window and more. From the gleaming new hardwood floors to the beautiful cabinets to the tiling, everything was done professionally and with care. It was a pleasure to have them in our home for the duration of the project. Judy and Steve from Annapolis.

This was our second time using Native Sons for our home renovation and we are very satisfied. I live in the Annapolis area and have needed a contractor who is reliable and able to work within out budget. They were quick, professional, and on time! Our construction experience with Native Sons with Rob as the lead site construction worker was absolutely superb!!!! Rob and his assistant David worked efficiently, quickly, and cleanly. Demo of all our old cabinets and two islands was done in one day. It really helped that Rob had licenses for construction, plumbing and electrical. Instead of waiting and having teams of licensed personnel work on site, Rob basically did everything himself which made the work go quickly.

As with any construction project we had delays but it was not Native Sons' fault. Some cabinets arrived broken and had to be made again (one critical cabinet part broke twice in two shipments). A special order stove fan arrived damaged and had to be reordered. Native Sons was very accommodating in working with us as our schedule had to be revised several times.

LESSONS LEARNED

1. When going through Home Depot remodeling services, Native Sons is hired to be responsible for just the construction details. They DO NOT act as a general contractor for the whole project.
2. We were responsible for coordinating with the granite company to select and reserve granite slabs.
3. We were responsible for coordinating with the granite installation company to ensure the scheduling was done
4. We were responsible for ordering all electrical appliances and devices such as fans, disposal units, stoves, refrigerator, etc. and making sure they got to the house
5. We were responsible for communicating between Home Depot, the granite quarry company, the granite installation company and Native Sons to ensure everyone knew the schedule of events of the construction project.
6. With the original price quoted for Native Sons construction we made the assumption that it would include general contractor responsibilities.

SUMMARY

Overall if we had to do this over again or start a new remodeling project, we would hire Native Sons in a heartbeat and not think twice about it (as long as we got Rob back!!) What is most important is that the job get done correctly because we will live with it for decades. Native Sons (Rob) got every part of the job done right on a project that was complicated.

My wife and I are very happy with our new kitchen installed by Native Sons. The install team were very talented craftsmen and overall the project was a pleasant experience. Would not hesitate to recommend them or to have them perform new work in our home.

Native Sons did a great job on the design and construction of my new master bathroom and closet. They completely gutted the entire area and created a new functional bathroom layout and walk-in closet, including new plumbing, vents, and electrical work. They made the process very smooth and kept me informed of the progress along the way. The entire team was friendly and professional and my bathroom turned out beautiful. I would highly recommend this company!

I cannot say enough good things about this company! From beginning to end they were on time, professional, informative and sensitive to every concern that I had. We had several issues beyond Native Sons control and they handled them extremely professionally and with sensitivity. The owner and his staff were very attentive and available whenever needed. I could go on and on but will simply say that they are a company that I would trust to do any work in my home and we hired them again after the kitchen install for some extensive plumbing work. Again a great job.

Native Sons is hands down the best remodeling company you can go with!!! They did a complete kitchen renovation, topped off with opening the wall into our living room with French doors!!!
Adam and Josh are awesome!! They were always on time, possess great communication skills, very professional, polite, friendly, courteous, patient and very time efficient!!! Adam is on a mission to complete his job. He has a goal set every day as to what will be completed that day....and meets it!!!

I contracted Native Sons through Home Depot and the quality and service was outstanding. From the first consultation with Buck who completely understood my needs to the installer team of Robb and Lou who did a fantastic job, I would recommend this team to anyone else doing a kitchen or bath renovation. Native Sons offered professional, quality service. I highly recommend them. I was particularly happy with their ability to work in an old, urban residence. Not many companies will work in the city. Brandon is the best. I will continue to use them for future remodels. I love my new kitchen.

Thank you Native Sons for the excellent work you did on our kitchen remodel. Your crew was professional and efficient as well as knowledgeable in plumbing, electric, lighting, and installing cabinets and assembling a multi faceted hood fan. The quality of the work far exceeded our expectations. To top it off they were trustworthy! It is not easy letting strangers into your home. Rob could solve and fix problems that the builder and another contractor ignored. He removed the previous cabinets in perfect condition and we were able to donate them to Habitat for Humanity. There might be cheaper companies out there, but really is it worth the time and headaches it takes to correct mistakes and miscommunication. Native Sons always called or sent the project manager, Mark, out to see how to solve an issue. All our friends are amazed at how much bigger our kitchen looks, although we kept the same floor plan.

Our experience with Native Son's was amazing! We can't speak highly enough about them. Josh and Josh were both courteous and extremely knowledgeable about their jobs and what they were to do. They did everything including the electrical, plumbing and moving our gas line for the range! When they came in each morning, they asked if we had any questions. Of course we did! And they had answers! They were as professional as a contractor could be. And for having them take out a wall, now you can barely tell one was even there at all!
My brand new kitchen by Native Son's looks so amazing, it should be in a magazine!
I also have to mention their awesome office manager Renee, who is always pleasant to speak wirh and of course Mark, the project manager.
We would absolutely recommend them in a heartbeat to do any room in your home!
